Great food and lovely welcoming staff. The lunchtime menu is good value for money and the banquet deals on an evening. Nice decor and in the centre of Matlock couldn't ask for more.
Really lovely food and all the staff were excellent. When we asked if it was ok for us to have some plates for a small birthday cake, they whisked it away and came back singing happy birthday and with candles in the cake! Thanks for making the meal special �

Exquisite food, very good value for money... we've been twice! The first time we came we could have put 5 stars, 3 tonight as we waited for a very long time between dishes. They were probably short staffed - hopefully it's just a one-off. Very good experience overall though.
It was alright. The interior was beautiful and decorated with a good taste. The food...the starter probably was the best part and house wine was very delicious, what regards the main dish then it probably was down to not knowing the specifics of the Thai cuisine. Therefore I have to admit that I have tasted better. If you choose to try this place then you're looking at around £40 with the drinks included.
Fantastic fresh food and full of flavour we all enjoyed the food but the service was a little to much as they were on you before you could even put your fork down. Felt like you was being watched throughout the meal and all our group agreed that this is what they felt, I'm not being over the top I don't think ?
But 💯 for their fantastic food. We have already booked to go back for more fantastic food. (I will let you know about the service 😂🤣
Decided to try this place out and we both really enjoyed the food and service.
Jamie really looked after us and was super friendly. Food came piping hot and tasted amazing. Good atmosphere and prices were reasonable able also.

Have eaten here many times- always great food and service. went as part of large group and they could not have been more accommodating really helpful and service was really fantastic. because we had the deluxe banquet we had pretty much a bit of everything. - it was all fantastic. The fried fish in particular was brilliant.
Delicious food. We had the set menu B and every dish was delicious. Staff were friendly, polite and professional. Highly recommend.
Me and a group of friends had completed a 25km run in the morning and were looking for a nice place to have dinner as we were very hungry.
We saw the reviews online for Thai No 1 and were very impressed, so we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed.
Peter (😍) and the rest of the staff were very friendly and accommodated everything we needed, including a round of Tequila with a shot chaser of pineapple juice (The Craig David).
The food was amazing! The satay chicken is the best I’ve ever had and the marinated duck in chefs special sauce was fantastic too.
Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Matlock, or anyone who lives there and somehow hasn’t tried it yet.
The service was really good an the food was amazing. The whole restaurant was very COVID safe and we had enough space between tables.
We ate at Thailand No1 on the 29/06. From the moment we walked in the atmosphere was amazing. Lovely decor. The food was so tasteful. One of the best Thai restaurants I ever been in. Which is alot. Its a shame we don't live local, I've been there weekly.
Turned up on spec on a bank holiday Sunday looking for a table for 1.
Which took a few minutes as they were waiting for a table to come free.
They got me a drink whilst I waited, and when I got seated I was served in double quick time.
Food was lovely, staff (only 2) worked like dervishes, looking after all diners whilst simultaneously coping with a never ending stream of delivery drivers and takeaway buyers.

Felt very safe in the restaurant regards cleanliness. Staff very safe and great attention to detail.
Ordering was easy but arrival of food took quite a while and we were offered prawn crackers (we thought complimentary) then they appeared on the bill at the end.
The fish dish was a bit greasy and I really only wanted some light noodles to accompany but we seemed to have been given (and charged for) a main noodle dish.
The green curry was pleasant.
Slow service and a bit on the expensive side.
Could write a long, detailed, and lyrical story of how good this place is. But you should just go,. The food is what you go for, the rest is just a bonus.

The best Thai I've had for 4 years since I was in Thailand last!
My only regret is that we aren't staying longer so I can sample everything off the menu!
A Superb Evening and Delicious food....😎😎😎The Decor style and Ambience of this Restaurant is Superb, so RELAXING and, Soft lighting, gives a Warm intermacy to the Evening, Very Attentive service and help with advice on How HOT dishes are.... well Worth a Night out..... and there is a Hugely Impressive Ceramic tile mosaic of a Sail fish on the Wall above the Bar...... Impressive ...
Food very nice atmosphere good however watch out for the unforeseen optional altermatic 10% service charge, that was added to the bill we only noticed when left after payment made should be made clearer
