We went here yesterday and have to say that they were the best fish and chips I have ever tasted and I can be hard to please. I'm not normally one for fish and chips as they often left you down, these however, were absolutely perfect.

I'm compelled to leave a review at its the best tasting and freshest fish and chips we've had in a while. The kids also really enjoyed their battered sausage, sausage and cod bites. Reasonably priced and would highly recommend.

Great fish and chips!! I have to agree these are better than my local chippy back home in Sheffield, and also better than the one we visited recently in Mablethorpe too, both of which are great chippies and hard to beat.

As stated in previous reviews I am a picky eater but whenever I'm in Matlock this is the chip shop for me. I have tried others along the parade but none compare to taste of the waves. It has become a family favourite for lunch for us ☺️

Easily the best cod and chips we've had in years. Apparently they cook in vegetable oil, like many award winning chip shops, so perhaps this is what makes the difference. Really light, crunchy batter and crisp, fluffy chips. Superb.

Best fish and chips I've ever had, it's honestly excellent here. Chips and cod crispy and not greasy, cooked to order and quality fish. I only wish we lived closer! Update (2023): Still excellent, highly recommended.

BEST fish&chips I've ever had! Light, crispy, tasty batter on the fish, amazing light fluffy chips! Not greasy at all, just tasty and delishhhh!! Would deffo recommend 🎉
