Unexpected visit to this Gem of a place... had lunch and a sweet. Not cheap but beautiful meal and well worth the money. ..very friendly and helpful staff... we will definitely call again when up that way...
Great food great staff!! Super friendly Our daughter really enjoyed her b'day meal & the candle and cake at the end was a really nice touch! Thanks again, Vicky Xx
First time we'd ever found the pub on our journey South on the A1. The beer garden is very pleasant & we were impressed with all aspects of the pub & the landlord serves a cracking pint of Timothy Taylor Boltmaker.
We were so impressed we're thinking of driving an hour back up for the Bank Holiday BBQ!
Give it s try!
We had a really great meal here on Sunday. Very efficient service, lovely food & very reasonable prices that include a bottle of wine- beautiful wine it was too🍷
We will be going back!
We celebrated our parents 50th wedding anniversary here yesterday in the private dining room. Gorgeous setting, great food and wonderful service. Thank you. Will definitely be back and would definitely recommend x
Great venue for a 40th birthday meal this evening with several small children in tow. The staff were amazing and we had the upstairs private dining area which has its own lounge where we could entertain the kids without disrupting other visitors to the pub and restaurant. Spot on all round, great venue, brilliant staff, top stuff well done! I'm sure we'll all be back again in the months to come:-D
The best Sunday Lunch I’ve ever had! Food superb, staff attentive and very welcoming, wonderful service. We will be back!
We stayed at a caravan site nearby and this was recommended as a decent dog friendly pub. We We’re made to feel very welcome, ate delicious food and were well looked after. Thank you.
I performed here yesterday evening. A stunning place. Perfect for food , drinks and relaxation.
Charlotte and staff really looked after me.
Can't wait to come back :) x
Went with my Wife daughter and grandson for Sunday dinner Sunday dinner was fantastic. Couldn’t fault the service or the place huge car park very friendly atmosphere definitely would go back again.
The Inn oozes stereotypical Yorkshire charm, rich with every element you would wish for in a pub.
Just reading the menu gives you the comfort that whatever you choose the food is going to be fantastic, maybe because the menu reads like a best selling novel, maybe I just have a feel for these things.
Quality is what makes or breaks an establishment, just looking at the rings that cuddle my pint glass as I sup the well recommended pint of ale, tells me that this place has high standards.
Clearly a pub that takes it’s primary function so serious is going to be best suited to serve me a culinary delight too.
An absolute must. One of my favourite restaurants. The staff are great and the food is genuinely knockout. The pictures don't do it justice. The pub has a fantastic, old feel and has a great range of ales, beers and wine.
Have visited the Punch Bowl 4 or 5 times over the past couple of years and have always had a good experience. Service was brisk and yet attentive with smiles. The food has always been excellent and well presented. Beer also well cared for. Well worth visiting.
The restaurant was nearly full and the staff were still quick and efficient. The food was well-presented, but could have done with more seasoning IMO.
We arrived late afternoon . Chef fitted us in !😉
Food excellent . There is real love & care with the food served here we came from Rawdon but once month we shall return! Again excellent don’t short list this just GO!!👍
I am very fond of a pub and appreciate a wide variety of them. For me, the most important thing is the quality and range of real ales. I can tolerate less than perfect loos, a mediocre menu and bland decor if the beer is spot on. It's quite rare to visit a pub where *everything* is fab, but the Punch Bowl Inn came extremely close. The moment we stepped through the door, we got a friendly welcome. The real ale offering was small but to our precise taste (a fabulous, proper local session pale ale) and there was a wide range of other drinks including tempting alcohol-free options. And the atmosphere is great. It has the feel of a proper local pub where people come to socialise, talk and relax. We returned for Sunday lunch, which was nothing short of delicious. The menu included traditional roast fare, along with interesting modern vegetarian and fish options. Service was good. Highly recommend.
Very nice food had a fish pie with was tasty.
Nice food but very expensive and will not come again I am sorry to say.
And some of the food was not available.
We had booked in advance which is not very good service.
Had a great week visiting friends in the village with multiple stops to the Punch Bowl. Great food, beer and staff!
Popped in here by chance as was lost. Well what a find. 5 for food, 5 for service and fantastic rustic pub. Well worth a visit to all that reads this. You can't fault the place.
Had a lovely meal, food tasty and hot. Little hiccup but sorted straight away. Young man who served us was fantastic. Dog friendly too so bonus. Recommended
Fabulous food, Fabulous staff, great experience. 10 star.
A traditional rustic pub building with very nice restaurant standard food. The menu was varied but not too long, with something for everyone.Everyone was happy with their choice and we all had a very enjoyable lunch
Just had late afternoon Sunday lunch. Food fantastic and hosting even better by great manager. Made to feel very welcome and not a problem even though our son and his partner and baby were very late. Looking forward to returning especially in better weather as great outdoor seating area.
