A fabulous meal,very good value for the quality and quantity of food supplied and the wine was a good sensible price,looking at advertising round the place there was lots of good offers available to take advantage of by anyone at different times of day,will definately go back and recommend to anyone xx

I went for a meal with my mum at lunch time and the menu offered a variety of foods, of which most I liked. I went for the chicken burger and it was so delicious and at such reasonable prices! Cannot complain!
I love going to this pub. Been many many times and never disappointed with the service or the food. Sunday Roast is simply amazing too. And all priced within our range of allowing yourself a treat once in awhile. Please try it for yourself you won't be disappointed. ❤❤

Newly refurbished to a good standard, we booked online for Sunday lunch. We arrived in good time and the pub was REALLY busy, we initially told our table was still in use, but the manager moved a few things around and we were shown to a table straight away. The server quickly came and brought menus and took our drinks order at the same time told us there couldbe a wait for foid of 30-40 minutes which given how busy it was came as little surprise to us, soon after the drinks arrived and we placed our food order. As it turned out our food arrived within 10 minutes of our initial order so all good. The food was excellent, great quality, fresh veg, tender meat and huge Yorkshire puds! Portion size great too! Dessert was very tasty but not overly hot when it arrived. All in all we would recommend the Red Lion for Sunday Lunch.

Our 1st visit .We called in on our way home on Thursday about 1pm. The car park was quite full so we weren't confident about getting a table. The couple infront of us decided not to stay as the waiting time was over half an hour.
The young lady was polite and helpful explained there were no tables in the restaurant available and we could expect to wait up to 45 minutes. We weren't in a rush so decided to wait, she cleared a table with 2 chairs in the the bar.
The interior is beautiful.
The barman was extremely busy, and on his own, he was rushed off his feet, not only making bar drinks but trays of tea/coffee, he said he'd be with me as quick as he could. I ordered a lime/soda ( was no lime ) but I was offered an alternative and a pot tea. We chose our mains and I went back to the bar and ordered. The barman even though still very busy, was extremely helpful took time to discuss the menu and advise. I ordered a jug of water which he brought to the table immediately.
45 minutes later the food arrived, I'd ordered the steak/ale pie with mash and veg, my husband ordered fish/chips and peas, with extra tartare. The food was hot, presentation wasn't the best, the pie meal looked like it had been thrown on the plate and the veg was a ½ a sliced carrot a small sprig of broccoli, and a tablespoon of peas, the gravy was lumpy, but the meal tasted lovely, the pie was absolutely amazing. No issue with fish/chips/peas. We were to full to eat dessert I was gutted as was looking forward to it.. the price was ok for the amount of food served.
All in all we enjoyed our 1st visit, it was extremely busy and I think under the circumstances the staff did well, but they did seem short-staffed. I think the gentleman on the bar (was maybe called Derek, and may have been Italian???) even though he was so busy nothing was to much trouble for him, so thankyou and yes we'll return for the leek dish on your recommendation.
Lovely meal on Wednesday evening, decor looks great and the outdoor area really lovely. Food was good and service very good, Vicky was very attentive. Menu was a bit boring , I wish they would do the lovely chicken curry they used to do and lasagna. Did think a pint at £6.75 a tad steep though.
Think we will try a lunch next, the menu looks interesting.
The Red Lion has a great new look, nice new decor inside and a transformation outside with a much larger and very attractive seating area. The menu has lots of old favourites and plenty of new options too. I chose the pan fried chicken and it was delicious. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was lovely.
The atmosphere remains warm and friendly and the service remains very good. Thanks to Chloe & Danni today.
Both had a Sunday Roast. One Turkey, one trip. It was very good. They were very busy and warned us that there was a 30 minute wait on the food so that was nice that we knew. It was worth the wait. Absolutely lovely, as always. There was no space in the Car Park so we had to park on the road outside. Very good meal and service by Alyssa/chef Dave.

First time visiting here. Booked at short notice. Very accommodating as I am in a wheelchair (temporarily). Busy pub but great atmosphere. We were told on entering that there would be a 30 minute wait .Excellent food. Very friendly staff. Will definitely return

Yesterday had such a good experience of welcome, good food, excellent staff all round and Chloe who served us. Also, as someone with allergies the dining experience was not ruined by endless info in a folder, instead a simple tablet with easy use. Thank you 😊
We recently enjoyed a lovely evening meal at the Red Lion. It was the first time we’d been to the pub in a couple of years, but we were very impressed with both the food and service. The staff were conscious of the large parties dining at the same time as us and made sure to take our orders before theirs. Food was served promptly and piping hot, and the prices remain very reasonable. We couldn’t fault a thing.
Steak was really nice, well cooked and reasonably priced. Food took over an hour to arrive. Could have done with more lighting. Service was a little slow. Nice decor with refurb. Would go again :)
