Yet again, we have just had THE most amazing meal, even at very short notice! Our great friends from Bath both said things like ‘I haven’t eaten a meal like that for a long while’ and ‘that was the best burger ever’ when we absolutely had to say something...it was hard to keep the conversation going as we were in ‘food heaven’ at the time As for the lamb, well...Lucas knows you know! The
Menu changes regularly and the food is always fresh and very tasty. Thanks for another great night everyone!
My local watering hole serving great food with a friendly face highly reccomend
As always great food, good wine, superb service !!
amazing food, fresh, locally sourced ingredients and homemade ice-creams! you can't ask for more!
Great pub, great people & great food.....unexpectedly great food actually!
Superb quality and extremely tasty food along with a stunning bouquet given to me to celebrate my Birthday
Thank you all so much
Fabulous pub, lovely ambience, friendly helpful people, and excellent food !
Just spent 2 nights in the Lord Nelson Inn and loved it. The rooms were quiet and very compatible with a good night's sleep. It was clean and homely.
Alistair the Landlord was friendly and welcoming but not overpowering.
Dinner there was lovely, thought had been put into the dishes to add a little twist to them and there was a good selection between the menu and specials.
Breakfast was just as tasty as dinner.
It is only 6 miles off the M4 and 15 mins into the Bath Landsdown Park and Ride.
It was a lot cheaper and quieter than staying in Bath, all together a great little find.
Great food, wonderful staff, lovely atmosphere!!!

We enjoyed a beautiful roast dinner today, it certainly deserves the 5* xx
Our local and a really lovely country pub
Stayed here for 7 nights while attending a training course locally. The service has been fantastic, many thanks to Alistair and his brilliant team. Moreover I must not forget the local people, I found everybody I met really sociable and friendly. I was gob smacked this morning while walking to Bath (which is a long walk), a local man was driving past and recognised me from the Lord Nelson and went out of his way to give me a lift. Much appreciated, and many thanks. What an amazing b&b and village. Regards, Steve from Orkney.
Great pub in Marshfield. Good prices, excellent and carefully poured Guinness. Full range if drinks plus food (haven't tried it). Very nice outdoor garden area with some cover if needed. Will be back
What a lovely find! We were hungry, and pulled into this small town, and stumbled into this wonderful little pub. Kind, lovely people, prompt service, and yummy food. Great pizza, and the sticky toffee pudding was excellent!
Pete's pizzas are the bomb, up there with the best in the Gloucestershire/Wiltshire area and the fact they also serve Stokes sauces with it is also an excellent topper.
Friendly and warm. We didn’t eat but enjoyed a drink inside
Really great little pub. We didnt book but they manage to fit us in for a table of 2.
The food was really good and well priced. We had a Burger and Pork Belly.
Both meals really good with plenty of extras.
Staff really friendly.
They have a well ON the bar, very cool
I visited this pub with friends for a late Sunday lunch. Street parking was a bit tricky nearby but we eventually found a spot.
The menu was somewhat limited with a small selection of starters and desserts but the main roast choices were plentiful.
It was a bit chilly inside on a cool November morning. I had to put my coat over my shoulders.
The food was large portions when it arrived with limited selection of vegetables. We all decided there was no room for desserts after the large main courses.
Frankly I think there are better places around.
Great pub, fantastic food our Sunday lunch was divine along with the splendid hospitality,
We took my dad here for lunch on his birthday. Having only been before for their carvery lunch on a Sunday we were very pleasantly surprised to really see what the chef could produce. The food was nothing short of excellent! Forgot to take pics of the mains - the pies and fish & chips are to die for - but did remember the desserts. At £120 ish for 6 people including drinks and a bottle of wine i thought it good value to be honest especially when considering the quality!
Visited for the first time for Sunday lunch. Greeted pleasantly by the affable landlord then looked after by his young helpers. Everyone was competent yet friendly. I rarely cook a traditional Sunday lunch (for one?) but my comment when we finished our meal sums it up ..."that was far nicer than I could have made myself" Absolutely delicious and much appreciated :-)
We went to Bath for the weekend and found this on booking.com 20/30 mims away from Bath depending on the traffic. We are glad we stayed here as the room was very cosy with bottled water and tea and coffee and we had a meal at the lord nelson and it was delicious delicious homemade pie and homemade chips and a homemade burger. We was very impressed, great customer service also. Just lost 5 stars as the room was quite cold, didnt seem to heat up and our neighbours were quite noisy.
First visit to this pub. Ordered the nut roast. Really impressed...tasted real good. The Yorkshire pud that came with it and likewise the veggie gravy were delicious. Generous portion too. Would recommend a visit.
Excellent foodie pub . Good affordable Sunday lunch. Super beer. Well recommended.
Warm welcome, lovely beers. New landlord getting the pub up and running again.
Definitely pop in again when in the area.
Interesting old well entrance in bar.
Excellent restaurant grade food at pub prices. A real gem.
Had Sunday roast dinners here 2 days ago, 6 of us. The food as well as being absolutely delicious, was beautifully presented on nice hot plates, at very reasonable prices. I think the chef's name may have been Lucas, sorry not sure. The waiter, Tyler, was courteous, friendly and efficient, without being intrusive. What a marvellous find; lucky Marshfield.

Food was like fine dining..The pub very cosy and welcoming. Staff helpful, pleasant and polite. I would say that the toilets let the place down. They seemed very scruffy for an establishment offering such high quality in other areas.
lovely traditional country pub With log burners 🔥fantastic in the Winter & the colder months🧣🧤 staff very friendly & so helpful & the food was absolutely delicious 😋 also the location is excellent for Beautiful country walks Definitely go again 😀👍
