We have had a lovely family meal for our granddaughters birthday. The staff are so friendly and welcoming , nothing to much trouble. The new pizza menu went down a storm and will definitely be back for more. If you want a relaxing friendly pub to take the family this is the place go , I honestly can’t recommend it enough ��

Decided to go on the spur of the moment and received a warm welcome from the lovely Rachel who was working behind the bar as well as some of the regulars who were really nice and friendly. I loved the decor and the humourous signs displayed which brought a smile to my face. As a vegetarian, it was nice to be spoiled for choice as I looked at the menu. I literally could have gone for all the delicious sounding vegetarian options and struggled to decide what to have to eat. After narrowing my decision to three options, I eventually decided to go for the cheese and onion pie which was out of this world and started planning my next visit so I could try the other options. I chose the gluten free chocolate brownie for my pudding and that was just amazing - it just melted in my mouth and was beautifully presented. Everything about our visit was just perfect but Rachel's kindness and care made this an extra special experience for us and I can't wait to go back. This was my first visit...and will no doubt prove to be the first of many.
Just had fabulous meal here - 12 of us in total and they catered perfectly for us all ranging from 4 years old to 70!! New pizza menu went down a storm with my 8 year old declaring it the best pizza he’s ever had!! And now my lot have decided we should eat here every week! Thanks for delicious food and no doubt see you next week!!�
Seven of us (all family members) booked for breakfast at 9.30.
Staff friendly and attentive. As much orange juice, tea, coffee, toast as required. The full English breakfast was red hot, well cooked and came out together, no one had to wait. All the food was great quality and we will definitely go back. Great price too, such good value.

We visited this establishment early October during the Jazz Festival and had the best weekend ever. Lovely friendly staff, comfortable rooms, great food, real beer and wine so what more do you need. It really is a good place to stay if you want to go walking or simply the explore the surrounding area. We will be back �
A lovely family run pub that serves delicious home cooked food. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, they cannot do enough for you. We would most certainly recommend a visit if you haven't been before. We will be back next week!!
Wonderful establishment, great ambience, lovely décor and excellent cuisine. I visited on the 28th of July to play my Yamaha piano and sing, I was given a genuine warm welcome by the management and customers/diner's all of whom were attentive and appreciative.
Just had a chicken and chorizo baguette but it was a pan fried chicken breast. My daughter had a small fish and chips but the fish was still an absolute whale! My friend asked for no butter on her sandwich (only cos she's a bit particular). Chef sent waitress out to check if it was because of an allergy to butter as he'd just pan fried the chicken in butter. That was very thoughtful and showed attention to detail. Excellent attention to detail and service. Food and drink scrummy!
We had a fantastic steak night on Friday rib eye was cooked to perfection nice atmosphere as it was busy lovely friendly staff
Had a lovely meal here, Friday night Steak & wine night, £29 for 2. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the home cooked chips are to die for. Friendly staff, very welcoming. Will definitely become a regular xx
We had a really great meal on a Saturday night. The pub was busy enough to create a good vibe. The food quality was excellent on everything we ate, The steak and ale pie was the best I have ever had. The portions are huge! Next time I will skip starters to try the desserts. We will be back.
Great place. Went with 10 friends, dogs and kids. They were absolutely great, we did a pre order as it was a larger group, food came out quickly and was delicious. They had good baby changing facilities and high chairs, dog water bowls and spacious areas to sit so you're not worrying about when to fit your dog when they're lying down. Drinks and food reasonably priced too. Would recommend.
Having been out for a walk I was keen for a good Sunday Roast. Popped into The New Inn about 4pm and ordered a Roast Beef dinner. The food was delicious, a great variety of fresh veg, tasty roast beef and a proper Yorkshire pudding. Excellent.
Afterwards, my dog and I got comfy on one of the leather sofas by the wood burning stove. I could have happily stayed there all evening but a full tummy, comfortable seating and the warmth from the fire was making me sleepy.
Friendly staff and landlord, great atmosphere, delicious food and dog friendly. Perfect.
I had a pleasant evening here back in February . I also really enjoyed my lunch/breakfast here too. However, I would agree with the complaints about the onion rings tasting like fish (especially as a vegetarian) but life goes on… I do remember the onions ruining the taste of my Guinness though 😂
Service - can see where other reviews are coming from. we put it down to shortage of staff, having to do bar, waitering, in kitchen, etc.
Food - excellent, would recommend.
We were out for a few drinks anyway, nice atmosphere, and could see they were busy. If you want quick, ask how long before ordering.
Nice pub, friendly, service was not great in all honesty, they forgot our order of chips and we had to chase. Good value though and recommended. Guinness was a 7/10.
Decent portions, great service. Onion rings and halloumi would've been non-vegetarian, but our server Jade made sure we were accommodated. Thanks Jade!
Beer selection not bad; Punk IPA, Tetley Dark Mild on draft, Wainwright and Bradfield Blonde on cask at time of visiting (yesterday). Prices very reasonable. Caramelised onion & mozzarella baguette both delicious & generous. Light bites also.
Cosy atmosphere and a decent pint
Dont get me wrong the food WOW it was amazing but we had to wait.
We booked a table the day befor as told it gets busy on a sunday, we got ther in plenty of time and shown to seat and got out drink with in minutes or ordeing them.
We order the food and waited and waited and waited then we asked to move table due to a large table coming in witch we moved with out any problem. 1hour later they came out and they where cold bar 1 so we asked could they be heated up please. 15 min later they were back out.
They only changed use for the drinks in the end and apologies so much.
Was belting would go again, was a nice day so sat outside there was 5 of us and we all got food at same time and every one enjoyed was not much on the menu but that's not always a bad thing lol.

Cosy, nice food, it was a glorious day so all doors open to keep cool, unfortunately just a little to cool. Fortunately alcoves/room, not sure how to describe which for me was warmer available. Very clean and dog friendly with drinking bowls for them. Toilets immaculate. Will call again

Very quiet pub on a Thursday night. Which is what I was looking for. The food is supposed to be good although I didn't try it.
