Booked with friends for a 3 course set menu of a lunchtime. Exceptional food and beautifully presented. Not as expensive as I had previously thought it would be for a premium restaurant, so pleasantly surprised. Definitely will visit again in the near future. Pictured is the chicken tikka with tamarind chutney and pine kernels. Sweet, sour and spicy...
I've been wanting to visit here for ages. Everything from the food to the service was amazing. It's really friendly and you're not rushed at all. This is probably one of the best food experiences I've had to date 😍💯 🥂Thank you.
We will be back 💯
Fantastic high end Indian restaurant. The food portions are big and the starters and sides amazing. We had a couple of starters a main and 2 sides and were stuffed. Ambience is friendly. The tasting menu looked interesting but make sure you go hungry as there were a lot of courses and the wine pairing is perfect.
I came here for lunch today as I was given a 3 course lunch voucher for 2 two people. My son also came so we paid extra for the dishes he ate. We were welcomed into the restaurant and taken to our table. We were asked if we wanted water and were given the drinks menu. We were also given the lunch menu which had plenty of options as you can see from the picture I took.
I ordered an extra starter dish which was the chicken salad, this was so tasty with the salad dressing and walnuts. All of our food was presented really well, colourful, tasty and was very filling. When we got our deserts I honestly thought how am I going to eat this but I did.
The waiters were so pleasant, friendly and helpful. We even did a doggy bag and took the lamb curry and lentils home.
I'd definitely recommend Vassu and will come back again one day.
Absolutely wonderful experience. Great food, super tasty, amazing service and lovely ambience. Highly recommend. I would personally like to thank Nipun, Ramesh, Savio, Pedro and Chef Aggarwal for creating such a wonderful experience for us all.
Will 100% return :)
Food was a great take on traditional cuisines with flavour to match and beautiful presentation. Cater for all, vegetarians and vegans too which was a great delight.
I still remember the unforgettable experience I had at Sindhu in 2016, and ever since then, I have been eagerly waiting to return to Marlow. Atul Kochhar is known to be a true genius in the world of Indian cuisine, and after having dined at several fine Indian restaurants in London, including Benares, Trishna, Gymkhana, Jamavar, Brigadiers, and Kutir, I can confidently say that Vaasu is the best I have ever experienced.
From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was impressed by its elegant and contemporary decor, which blended traditional and modern elements beautifully. As I perused the menu, my mouth watered at the thought of the sumptuous dishes that awaited me.
The star of the show, without a doubt, was the black daal - it was a sensory explosion in my mouth, with its rich and creamy texture and a depth of flavor that I have never experienced before. The chicken starter was tender and juicy, and the lamb was cooked to perfection. But it was the spinach and cheese kofta that truly stole my heart, with its perfect balance of flavors and textures. And let's not forget the seafood biriyani - it was an aromatic and flavorful dish that left me wanting more.
What I loved most about Vaasu was the attention to detail in every aspect of the dining experience. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who were knowledgeable about the dishes and were always on hand to offer recommendations. And of course, the food was outstanding, with every dish beautifully presented and bursting with flavor.
As I left the restaurant, I knew that Vaasu had set the bar for Indian cuisine in London and beyond. I am already looking forward to my next visit and cannot wait to indulge in another unforgettable dining experience.
Parking is in the Chapel Road car park or Liston Road parking nearby. We arrived at the time we booked for a Saturday lunch with family. The restaurant is small but nicely decorated. We were shown to our table promptly (so booking ahead and arriving on time recommended).
We had the 3 course set menu with a roasted butternut squash soup with a deep fried fritter (onion bhaji like) which was great. The main was a wrap with cottage cheese, peppers and mint sauce on the side. For dessert I chose the tarte which was lovely (but tiny). Accompanying the mains was a small serving of rice with black lentils (dal makhani) which was the best tasting dish we had there. None of us are big eaters so the food was enough for us but you might need more if you have a healthy appetite.
The thing to note is that drinks are quite pricey. I had a bottled beer from a local brewery for £7 and wines/cocktails are near the £12-£15 range.
Very pleasant staff and attentive service, they recommended the tasting menu for us. One point to note for vegetarians is the pervasive smell of meat inside the restaurant wasn’t very pleasant but I guess we ignored it after first few minutes.
Food, atmosphere and staff were lovely. The only thing that knocked a star off was that we were waiting about 45 minutes in between our starter and main. Far too long in my opinion. When i asked the waiter for x2 cokes, these also took ages to come, despite the bar not even looking busy. Had to call another member of staff to ask for them (and then they came straight away).
My main was nice too, steak cooked to perfection! Although I’m not sure if the sauce that goes with it is really the best pairing.- a bit unusual.
Great food, service and ambience. I had the three course set lunch menu for £27 which was excellent value for money. Food tasted delicious and you really get a fine dining experience for a great price.
Great restaurant with amazing flavours and textures. We did a 5 course tasting menu and would highly recommend it. Staff were fabulous and the cocktails were great too.
We have dined at Vaasu before and today had lunch with friends who were visiting for the first time. We told them they would not be dissapointed and we were right. Thank you for a wonderful lunch, the King Prawn and Slow Cooked Lamb main courses were amazing. Great service as usual rounded off a great experience.
The 7 course tasting menu was an absolute delight, the wine was paired perfectly. The service was fantastic and the spices across the dishes was just superb, a master managing spices.
Scallops and prawns were tasty, cooked well, chicken tikka was on the drier side, sea bass was succulent although the lamb overcooked and verging on dry. Desert was impressive. Food overall was good. We were given this as a present for our anniversary. There were several supplements that increased the bill.
Vaasu was easy to book. However, the parking can be tough in Marlow, so a bit of planning is needed. Food choices were limited but excellent. Food itself was outstanding. Lamb chop and Butter Chicken are recommended. Gatte ki sabji is recommended to vegetarians. People very polite and efficient and place has a welcoming feel. Would recommend to add more options. We knew what we were getting and are extremely satisfied. Highly recommended.
Another amazing meal at Vassu.
Food is excellent with interesting flavours and delicate spices.
Service friendly and personable
Allergen awareness of staff good (my partner has an allergy to nuts, lentils and chickpeas - pretty key components of indian food and they always adapt the menu for her)
Excellent value for money
Brilliant! Lunch, party of 4. Super service. Food near outstanding, imaginative and tasty. Suggestion: Lamb - good to reduce in size and include 1/2 rice in price. Apple fritters - not good choice for indian desert. But super formula. Poppadoms - definitely worth extra £6 per couple
Really quaint and contemporary place in Marlow. It's got a simple delicate flavoured menu, nothing too hot or spicy for the non-indian palate but every dish we had was beautifully subtle in taste. Good service and very relaxed atmosphere.
We had the tasting menu on a lunchtime. Was utterly delicious. The flavours and presentation were far exceeding expectations.
The staff were attentive whilst seemingly invisible. It really was a superb meal. The salmon was my favourite.
Booked via Travelzoo for a 4 Course tasting menu which was absolutely lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful but the service started a little slow. The food was presented beautifully, was varied and full of taste
