1st time we had vistied this pub for a family meal.Choose because we had a trip out to Marlow to meet up with family. We were not disappointed- great huge potions. The only thing I would say is the melt in the middle chocolate pudding, to serve with the cream separate in a jug, but would highly recommend - the staff were very friendly and did a good job - well done
Awesome meals with huge portions, I can highly recommend the Cajun Salmon and rice. I must also say the staff were amazing, they had a bit of a disaster with WIFI and the card machine went down but the staff used their initiative and made sure customers were not inconvenienced in any way. Nice to see staff thinking outside of the box to make sure customers aren’t inconvenienced. Will definitely go back and try the pizzas!!
My brother had the ribeye steak and I had the Oz burger. Both cooked to perfection! Friendly, efficient staff. Definitely recommend it as a great place to eat!
I went with my partner yesterday 1st May, as we fancied a nice pub lunch, the food was great and the staff were lovely too, definitely a nice place to eat!!! if we ever get the chance we would love to visit again xx
We went for Sunday lunch. Only serve from the Sunday Lunch menu so a little restricted. We had the Sunday roasts and they were lovely! Excellent service too! Would highly recommend and we will be returning soon.
Just had a fantastic Mother’s Day meal here. Staff were exceptional- attentive, but not over bearing. Atmosphere was energetic, but not over-crowded or manic. Food was simple and perfectly executed - Rib of Beef especially recommended. Timings were really good, we did not feel rushed, but neither did we need to wait for anything. Over all very, very well done. We have had some very poor experiences the last few Mother’s Days, but you have restored our faith that restaurants can get Mother’s Day right AND make it look easy! We were all really impressed, you should all be very proud of yourselves!
The buffet laid on for the Crawley Town supporters was excellent, plenty of food for everybody
Thank you to all the staff working last night who helped make my father in law's 70th celebration so wonderful. Everybody said the food was excellent and we were all looked after really well by the bar staff. Special mention to Piers who kind of became our personal host for the evening and did a cracking job too. Top work guys!
Having not been here for a few years so I decided to give it a try for my birthday, with my sister and brother in law. Will definately be back again food and service was great.
Lovely pub, our local. Wonderful cosy evening by the open fire with a great pint of Rebellion beer. What's not to like !!
Came on a Saturday to try the new menu and left very impressed! You could tell how fresh the produce was, which made the burrata and heirloom tomato starter - for example - absolutely delicious. The pesto that came with it was probably the best I've ever tasted. The caught-same-day fish and chips was amazing too; beautifully battered fish and the skin-on chips were proper chippy chips and great too.
Having been a Marlow Bottom local for nearly two decades, it is the best food I've known the pub to have. The service was helpful, attentive and friendly too.
Surprisingly quiet pub with wingback chairs. Felt like a scene from the Godfather.
Also leather seats in the covered smoking area
Fantastic new staff, welcoming ambience and heart warming food. It was great to visit this pub again since it was shut. We loved everything, definitely this will soon be our go to place for every weekend. Well done to the team for amazing work.
Limited menu but food delicious and definitely tasted home made. Particularly good were the rustic chips. Average price for today's values. Nice garden if the evening had been warmer. Bar staff particularly pleasant and friendly. Would recommend
Excellent food with great service. Food beautifully prepared and served and the chef was happy to tweak one dish to suit my friend who didn’t like one of the ingredients.
We were surprised it wasn’t busier on a Friday evening which is why I’ve only given 4 stars for atmosphere but that suited us as we were catching up after not seeing each other for some years.
Very nice pub serving good food in a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend, and tempted to give it five stars. Could have a better non-meat menu, which is the only drawback for some.
Definitely worth driving the extra mile south from that other place on the Wycombe to Marlow road. Highly recommend.
A superb pub. Great food, liver pate, fish & chips, the beef burger was great as was the king prawn linguine..
Dropped into brewery after, sad to see their tap room packed and this rather nice pub providing great service but quite quiet. Recommend this rather nice pub.
Invited for supper on a weekday. We had two couses...cauliflower and pigeon then turbot plus drinks. It's a very limited but nice menu with freshly prepared food.
No coffee was available other than instant! Very unusual and should have been sorted before opening.
Styled as a gastropub it was very quiet and perhaps a little expensive (12.5% service charge) for an out of town venue looking to establish itself.
Only two weeks into new management so wish them well and will be interested to see how it develops.
Lovely pub with good food, friendly service, and a selection of well kept ale.
Lovely lunch today good veggie sunday lunch option and my son's loved the beef
Potatoes only disappointment bit heavy and stale
Staff lovely but could have been more accessible and attentive
But overall it was a lovely lunch
Service was a bit slow but that was okay as we weren’t in a rush. Good absolutely lovely. Nice portions and very tasty!
So first things first Covid-19 has clearly had a impact into how the bar and restaurant is run and I’m pleased to say it all the better for it.
The pub is operating a tables service for drinks and food and although the menu says it is a restricted menu due to covid 19 it is still very comprehensive and caters for everyone.
The tables pub and all areas are clean, well spread out and it’s obvious that they are taking their responsibilities very seriously.
In the garden the tables have been marked out with ropes and pegs to provide a clear social distancing area for that group of people which is a nice touch.
There is also a garden area for smokers marked off which is really good for those that do not smoke as I’m sure you’re agree if you are a non-smoker there’s nothing worse than passive smoke.
I was also asked for my contact details for track and trace which was excellent.
There are plenty of sanitation stations with Antiseptic gel.
They also welcome well-behaved dogs in the garden and children are also catered for.
On top of that our lunch was absolutely lovely, The beer and gin choices was wide and we simply couldn’t find fault.
Overall a lovely experience and look forward to returning again shortly .
It was a shame to see the pub so empty on a bank holiday Monday lunchtime. We had great service and the food was very good. It was a set menu with a heavy Indian food bias. The chicken tikka starter was delicious as was the fish and chips, and burger mains. The accompaniments to the meals were also very good. The playlist of songs being played in the background was excellent. The only criticism was that we ordered orange juice and lemonade which came as j2o and lemonade so cost £5.20! Otherwise a near perfect lunch experience.
Absolutely lovely Sunday lunch. One of the best I’ve ever had. Look forward to coming back!
Friendly welcome and good ale recommendation. Great food, flavoursome and good value.
Friendly staff make the visit a pleasure. Hope to visit again some time.
Popped in for lunch after a long walk. Our food and drinks were served very quickly which was great as we were very hungry. The food was of a decent standard and the price was very reasonable. The best thing about our experience was how lovely and friendly the staff were and they were clearly trying really hard to ensure our experience was a good as possible especially in times were hospitality is really struggling! My only feedback would be to add more selection of food choices eg sandwiches to the Sunday lunch menu as I don’t like roast dinners. We had burgers which were really nice.
Such a great experience, lovely food, served by the most friendly service I've encountered in a long time. Our little one loved the attention and the extra service "princess level". The fish and chips was cooked to perfection, the rib eye tender and juicy and the chicken breast stuffed with spinach was lovely.
