Our first experience of eating at the Royal Oak since the new owners took over in recent months and thankfully we weren’t disappointed. Attentive : Friendly : Knowledgeable staff as well as delightful starters : mains and desserts. Bravo. We will be back very soon

Overall it was a great Sunday roast ! The staff were very friendly especially the owner who came to check on us to see if everything is ok. It showed that the chef really wanted to do things well as attention was given to detail and we were asked for our opinion about the new beef wellington they had just added on the menu. My husband had the loin beef which was also nice but perhaps too pink. Overall the pub is very cosy and maintains its original features. It’s also very clean and pet friendly. Will visit again!

Best seared lamb in some time 😁 - I popped in as I couldn't get broadband. It actually had good internet speed for out in the sticks and was the same as in central Marlow on the speed checker. Stayed for a meal with my wife and just had the pan seared lamb , truffled mash, wilted greens& rosemary jus. It was superb the best I have had in some time. Bravo. £24 pounds feels like the correct price. My wife had the beef burger which was great and great crispy chips (Surprisingly hard to find) Will we be going back - a firm yes Oh the pots of Tea were nice with good strength. I am a tea aholic. Dessert menu has good choices as well. Went for affogato for desert which my wife loves - she loves coffee. _______________ 4 star first rating - Popped in as we were in the area and went for the special curry. The beef was really tender, slow cooked. With great texture. Nice flavour curry although it was pretty hot which was good for me and my wife. The rice was well cooked. The house wine was reasonably priced and tasted good. They do a few cocktails but didn't have a big range if that is your thing. They had some great dips with apocot and yogurt and a red salsa dip. It just needed a couple of popadoms. The curry was nicee than our local Indian. The pub is pretty old worldy and has nice gardens. We will probably pop back for a Sunday roast some time to check it out again. It was probably a 4.5 but that's not a rating.

Lovely meal here on a Wednesday evening. The waiter couldn't have been friendlier. The menu is quite limited, but clearly very well thought out and freshly made. As a veggie there was only one option on the starter and mains for me, but both of these were very nice. It is at the expensive end of pub food, but nice enough for the money.

Attended a lovely meal tonight, so many choices on the menu all sounded delicious it was hard to choose, was recommended the Duck cassoulet by Nola and absolutely delicious. It would be great to have this offer once a month. Staff friendly, smiley and attentive would definitely recommend. I was also informed of the new wine menu coming so will be back to try.

Such a great meal with fantastic service from Lucy and the team. This is the perfect place to enjoy some proper pub food in a friendly, cosy atmosphere. There’s a lovely outdoor area too so we’ll be back to check that out in the summer too.

5.0 We had a most enjoyable experience at Royal Oak. The staff was attentive and service was good. The food was excellent, especially the steak and ale pie and the Rebellion Lager on tap was delicious. The pub is definitely worth a visit with a lovely garden and plenty of indoor and outdoor space.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Royal Oak pub in Marlow, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warm and friendly service that made me feel right at home. The pub itself has a charming and inviting atmosphere, perfect . The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure that my visit was enjoyable. The menu offered a great variety of options, and I was impressed by the quality of the dishes. Each bite was bursting with flavour, and the presentation was impeccable. They also had an impressive selection of beverages! I cannot recommend The Royal Oak enough. Whether you're looking for a place to enjoy a delicious meal, have a refreshing drink, or simply unwind in a welcoming atmosphere, this pub has it all. The exceptional service, delectable food, and charming ambiance make it a top-notch establishment in Marlow. Overall, my experience at The Royal Oak was outstanding, and I will definitely be returning. If you're in the area, make sure to pay them a visit—you won't be disappointed!

I highly recommend the Royal Oak. Like other recent reviews, the service has recently dramatically improved thanks to new owners. The service was very friendly and welcoming. Despite being a busy sunny Sunday, the service was quick and the food was delicious. What more can you ask for?! The beer garden is well kept. My only piece of feedback is the picnic bench nearest the car park has had its day and could do with replacing. We will be back. Lovely pub.

Been here several times and it's always great. Recently, for a friend's party, it was incredibly busy and the management took care to ensure all could park- almost running a valet service. Food was great, drinks too. The teepee area is just brilliant.

Had a great night at a surprise party in the teepee. Staff were proactive and polite, the buffet delicious, especially the home made cheese straws and the teepee's fire pit and twinkly lights added to the atmosphere.

Really nice chilled pub for dinner with friends. We said we were starving and the staff worked really hard to get us our food quickly which was super kind of them. Would definitely recommend for a chilled out evening with friends.

What a marvellous little gem this pub restaurant, situated just outside the centre of Marlow is! The menu is varied and reasonably priced offering everything from a light snack to compliment a glass of their wide selection of ales to fully fledged set courses and wines suitable for family gatherings. The staff are friendly and attentive plus the lush garden area with it's big Teepee makes dining outside in warmer weather an absolute joy. I will certainly be returning!

The Royal Oak has been in decline over the past couple of years but we were there this week for the first time in a long time. What a transformation. Happy pleasant staff serving great fresh food. There were five of us and we tried all three pies which were full of meat and the salmon and prawn one was similarly wholesome. My wife said the Sea Bass was one of the best she had eaten in a longtime. Everything was piping hot and served nicely. All in all a lovely family evening. Nearly every table was full and due to that the two waiting staff were struggling a bit. But there is no doubt we will be back.

The Royal Oak is back! and back for good! This place was always a favoured eating and drinking establishment for us a few years ago. We are fortunate to be able to walk and take the dog to enjoy the beautiful garden and ambience. Sadly over the last 7/8 years this was not the case and the place was soulless, expensive and poor in everything it did! NOT ANY MORE! The new owners are well on their way to reclaiming the top spot in Marlow for great food served by a great passionate team in relaxing surroundings! A few weeks ago one of the owners (Alex) stopped by to drop a leaflet at our door advertising that it was under new local ownership. She was engaging, honest and listened intently for feedback. Alex was clear that they needed to reclaim the lost local customers and get the pub back to the "place it was and more..." After our experience last night they are well on their way! We sat outside in the garden and enjoyed lovely wine ( That was good quality and affordable) exquisite food served on hot plates and with a smile from a waitress who obviously enjoyed her job. Kieron who was the Manager on the night led his team well and was attentive and took the time to chat even though he was busy. We will return! Hopefully many times.
