Was asked by my son to book the Royal Oak near Marlborough but I misunderstood and googled This pub IN Marlborough booked a table for 4 for Saturday night. As things came to pass we were sat in one Royal Oak and they were sat in another so they joined us and we all had a lovely meal. The pies were superb. And when I booked the table they emailed me a £5.00 off our meal. Service was great too.
Met friends for lunch at the Royal Oak - Relaxed atmosphere, friendly, polite staff, good choice of food, great value for money. Would definitely recommend!���x

A lovely place in the centre of the high street. A good choiceof food on the menu and at the bar for drinks from real ales to cider. Friendly staff, quick service.
Lovely lunch on the way home from a week's holiday. Delicious Korean chicken burger with a lovely Korean BBQ dip. Fast service & friendly staff.
I go to this pub regularly and it is my favourite one by far. The staff are so friendly and helpful, and their customer service is amazing. I love the chicken sharer, especially the nachos that come with it! Delicious!! 10/10 would recommend.
We had a table of 10 to celebrate my dad's birthday, we hadn't booked a table, however they fitted us in, and all the staff were really polite and helpful. There were a few menu items they didn't have available but we really enjoyed the food we had and all came out quickly and was piping hot. I would definitely recommend this pub and we will definitely return. Great that they also offer Blue Light card discount.
Was wanting a classic bit of pub grub whilst I was in Marlborough and I came across this pub. Impressed is an understatement! Lovely staff and atmosphere, amazing drinks selection and a stunning garden! I didn't intend on stopping for food, but saw some lush looking burgers coming out of the kitchen and couldn't resist! I went for the Royal Oak burger and wasn't disappointed - it was delicious! 10/10 would recommend and would definitely visit again!
Had a wonderful time there and some great food and drinks, it had a great outside garden and the staff were very nice, polite and kind. Great place to meet with family and friends and also to meet new people. You can order on the app and they bring everything to you so no need to wait by the bar if it's a busy hour.
Excellent place to eat and drink. Absolutely massive both inside and out, giving plenty of space for many groups. I had the chicken platter, which combined the perfect amount of both quantity and quality. Served by Lisa, waiting was kept to a minimum and everything I needed was brought right to me.
A great place to drink and eat. It gets quiet busy at the weekends and usually takes about half an hour for the food orders to arrive!
The place has good ambience and the staffs are friendly, knowledgeable and efficient.
There were a few customers at the counter on one Saturday afternoon in August but only one female staff was taking all the orders for drinks and food but there were other staffs in uniform standing idle behind the counter but will not take orders. Very strange indeed. As a result it took me twenty minutes to place food and drinks order and a further half an hour wait for the food to arrive!! Unacceptable!
The toilets were clean and neat but hand basin tap was broken in in M/F toilets.

We stopped in here on a whim today for a late lunch. The staff and owner could not have been more welcoming. We had a wonderful time. The beer garden in the back is gorgeous, and the food was outstanding. Three of us had the hunters chicken toastie, which was fantastic. The chicken platter was also delicious, as was the chicken katsu burger. All the chicken tasted fresh and was very well prepared.
The best part of our visit was the owner! There was a sign up by a table outside warning customers to be cautious of bees. My daughters were very interested and wanted to find the bee hive. When the owner saw us looking, he came over and talked to us about the miner bees (which don't sting and only come a few weeks a year).
Then, later, when he overheard my daughter comment that the pub had so many interesting things to look at, he spent quite a bit of time giving us a tour and showing us all the history of the pub. It was fascinating to hear the history of this beautiful building, and we really appreciated his taking the time to show us! We hope to come back some day!
This was our regular while visiting Marlborough. It has a fantastic beer garden so we was lucky to be able to spend our visits there. The staff we're very polite and helpful a credit to you all. A visit is required to the Royal Oak when in the area.
Stopped off for a pint and some food. Pint was decent, service was great (two girls working were excellent) food was ok. Great selection of ales and beers on tap and in bottles.
Dog friendly. Delicious food & great service. We had been warned in advance of a reduced menu due to a fryer not working but still plenty of choice. Food was fresh, well cooked & will definitely book again. Service was fast & the server was very polite & friendly. Ordered a steak & ale pie & macaroni cheese which was perfectly cheesey.
We had pies. Steak and Ale, chicken and mushrooms and cottage pie. Excellent taste and good portions. Highly recommended.
