Good music playlist. Delicious pudding. Friendly staff and local people.
Lovely place- great hosts! Absolutely fantastic chips- will definitely be back for a Sunday roast- it looked amazing!!
What a superb pub. Well worth the drive across. Real ale served in a glass with a handle - small point, but means a lot. The chef is from Brittany and very talented. The Soup and Pheasant was sublime with a delicious Paris Brest for desert. Very classy and not your average pub grub. It's also
I friend recommed thier thai food night (wednesday's) and wow, what a treat! Its a fiendly cosy village pub and the food was excellent, some of the party wanted mildly spiced others a tad hotter. We were not disappointed, the flavours came flooding through. The recommeded wine, was a sassy french
Two days after they had reopened I contacted Anne-Marie to book a family gathering. Nothing was too much for them. They even got the chef to start a day early to provide a great spread for us. Highly recommend. We will definitely be back.
5Star Private Hire (Andover) recently assisted clients to The Plough in Shalbourne. All highly recommended the Plough as a great location.
Stopped here with my daughter on our cycle ride to Bath. Lovely pub, food was delicious and a very friendly landlady. New owners I’m told by a local we were chatting to. We’ll be back. Recommended.
We had a really delicious supper in The Plough the other night and tried starters, main courses as well as puddings!!! We recommend the pickled sea bass and onion soup. The porc tenderloin and vegetable curry were just perfect too. Having read the excellent reviews of the Paris Brest pudding we a
The Plough's new French chef has greatly improved the food there. My wife and I had supper there recently. I had onion soup followed by a pheasant ragout. Both were absolutely delicious. This is simple country fare prepared and presented to a very high standard.
We have eaten twice at the Plough and have had fantastic food both times. Simple french cuisine using seasonal and local produce, plus it’s fantastic value! Highly recommended
Proper beer served by proper people. Well worth a visit!
Early days for new owners but friendly welcome and vg beer. New menu looks great. We'll be back!
Found this pub after taking children to village fayre. Excellent food and the fillet steaks are to die for. We visited again and the steaks were sooo good. Unfortunately, although good, Sunday lunch was not quite up to the same standard and they had run out of fillets. We will definitely go again bu
Original Country Pub. Good beer and wine. Excellent food with a french twist. Really good service. Very reasonably priced. I would recommend to all . Mr G .
Couldn't have been made to feel anymore welcome! The staff were great, (including the well behaved dog, Artoo), the food was good, in a quiet location, the locals were friendly too! Have found the balance between being Covid aware and retaining country pub charms of pre-pandemic!! Definitely recomme
Planned lunch here as part of a walk that took a lot longer than planned - thanks to farmer's planting over public footpaths - and the pub kindly let us have food after their serving time. The waitress and owner were friendly and we didn't feel hurried, so grateful as we needed the fuel, the break a
Nice village pub. Good vibe and a lovely fish & chips.
Popped in for a drink the new owners are very friendly. We weren't eating but the food that was coming out of the kitchen looked really good.
