I hadn’t been to the gingerbread man for years and was a bit skeptical after looking at the reviews? I went with my friend and 4 kids. Firstly the staff were lovely, very helpful and clearly love their jobs! I ordered the steak and chips which was perfectly cooked to my liking (rare) my friend had hunters chicken which she thoroughly enjoyed and the kids loved their mini meals too and just to mention that all meals came out hot. I can’t vouch for the carvery yet, but if it’s anything like the main meals, I doubt I’ll be disappointed � I’m not sure if peoples expectations are just too high? If you want fine dining, then go somewhere and pay the hefty price tag to go with it. This is tasty pub grub and I loved everything! I mean where else can you get 2 children’s meals, an adults steak and chips and drinks for under £20??!! and I will definitely be returning! The chocolate brownie is to die for and the portion sizes are huge value for money! Before it was taken over again, I would’ve agreed with these reviews, but we can’t tar a place with the same brush can we? Give it a try and judge for yourself.
Excellent carvery! Would definitely recommend. Had our Xmas works meal and food was excellent
We have been a few times now and cannot fault the carvery! So many vegetables to choose from and all cooked lovely! You also get plenty of meat which makes a big difference! All of the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, really lovely pub to go to!
Will be visiting registering from now on �
Came for a carvery on the friends and family night,couldnt fault it,food was lovely,staff extremely friendly and helpful and the new look is warm and welcoming.The only downside for me was there was so much choice of veggies that I chose them all and couldn't squeeze a dessert in � I will be back very soon to try and resolve that �.Well done everyone,keep up the great work.

Had an absolutely amazing time at the Princess Party this afternoon.
Such friendly staff, can’t do enough for you and they are all amazing with children.
They really enjoyed the food, cooked and presented lovely.
The party bags were 10/10 , including a free play pass, amazing!
Food & drinks were a very reasonable price, I had a hot chocolate which was delicious.
Will definitely return here again
We had the Mix and Match starters. They food was hot and very tasty. Very well presented and came out quite quickly. We ordered via the app which was very simple to use and navigate through. We will definitely be back and may try the carvery next time as that also looked amazing.
The staff were all friendly and efficient.
It was quite quiet there it was too hot to eat, so we had the chicken and bacon salad. The carvery looked delicious and seemed to be selling well. We also had a sharing sundae for dessert. It was too much for me but hubby ate the rest.
A lovely Pub & Carvery with plenty of character and loads of space. We had a gorgeous piping hot breakfast. One regular and one ultimate size although the former would have sufficed as the portions were huge. Very good food. The staff were very warm and friendly and the customer service was excellent. We look forward to seeing you again. Highly recommended 🙌😊
Exceptional and quick service throughout,lexy was my server today very approachable and kind,Im very fussy when it comes to eating out and i never hesitate coming coming here,the food is beutifull and the desserts never fail to impress me either, all round recommend and highly recomend that is!
Bit if a meh place not the best not the worst. we had a carvery the meat was nice but there wasn't much veg to choose from and it was hard and i like my veg soft so that's why only 4 stars .it is a kid friendly pub with a big soft play area so brilliant for kids but it was very busy and there wasn't anyone I could see in the play area supervising kids that worked there but apart from that nice place worth a visit if you've got a young family
My girls came to the barbie event and they loved it they had an amazing time will definitely be going to the next one thank you so much
We have been coming here for some time, today felt different. The atmosphere was happy lots of families and children having a good time. The food was lovely and tasty with plenty choices. Staff were friendly and helpful going the extra mile. My dogs will be extremely grateful for the dog pots plenty of meat for the lads.
We arrived quite late afternoon for a carvery & we're told that it was still available, but they would be finishing serving in ten minutes, which was fine for us as we were more than ready to eat.
The food was delicious and still a lot of choice, there was certainly enough left for us.
The staff were very friendly and courteous. We will definitely recommend the food at The Gingerbread to our friends and family. Looking forward to eating there again soon.
Hi, 3 of us went for a meal. 2 had carvery, 1 veggie burger. The only thing not good on carvery was the gravy wasn't very warm. We ordered 3 Eton mess puddings. By the time it got to us the ice-cream was almost melted on every Eton mess.
Staff very friendly. Would go again and recommend .
Lovely carvery loads of veg choice . Very good value .. we had standard size and it was plenty £9.99each. Excellent service from Fraya throughout . Converted us to try Greene King Carvery again.
Just been for a yummy breakfast, delicious breakfast and good cup of tea, plenty of it, great value for money! Great customer service from the whole team especially Moey who sent us off on our holiday with a goodie bag each for the boys, drinks and a coffee for me too! Boys enjoyed a play in the wacky warehouse before sitting in the car for a 4 hour drive to wales! Great way to start our holiday! 4 happy customers 😊
We were a big party (6 kids and 6 adults) with no booking and the staff made every effort to get us a table. Carvery had a good variety and good value 👍
The venue was great and the food in the carvery was well prepared the only thing to complain about was the choice of fresh veg was limited.with only carrot and sprouts no peas green beans broccoli or cauliflower but everything else was very good 👌👌
