I went for an afternoon of catching up with friends. The ambiance of the restaurant was lovely,my only dislike was how cramped it was. The staff are very attentive and happy to deal with any request you have. As for the afternoon tea it was very well presented with a good chioce of both sandwiches and cakes.The best I've had locally and would recommend to everyone. Thank you xx
Food great and service good, had a voucher for champagne afternoon tea and used towards evening meal as couldn’t make a Saturday due to work commitments. Would recommend

Had a lovely afternoon tea for my mothers 80th birthday on 01 July, just how afternoon tea should be, pristine white table clothes, sparkling glasses, real tea and coffee pots, sandwiches with no crusts, and a excellent selection of cakes along with the obligatory scones with an assortment of jam and clotted cream, the service was excellent. Mum had a lovely time and has since commented on it all being perfect.... And that's all that matters to me. So a big thank you to the staff at Softleys for helping make her day.....
Had a beautiful Sunday lunch today with my husband celebrating our ruby wedding anniversary. The atmosphere, staff and food was amazing. Couldn’t fault a thing. We had a lovely time. Sure to be back again

Lovely small restaurant with great food in a very relaxing atmosphere.....lovely for those special moments
Excellent staff; polite, courteous and helpful. However the food was amazing. I was worried about choosing the duck with so many spices listed. However the subtle way that the spices were used resulted in a fantastically delicate, well balanced experience. The duck was perfectly cooked, as were the accompaniments. As for the halibut. ..... Oh my goodness. What a triumph. A thick, juicy, perfectly prepared piece of wonderment accompanied by perfectly seasoned vegetables. We will definitely be back. To add to the experience was the lovely selection of gins. Very nice. Well done everyone.

This is the first time I have had breakfast here and what a great place , the ingredients is so fresh .. bacon and sausage tasted local and the eggs were amazing. The young lady Grace serving did not mind changing a few bits on the menu.Brilliant ✅
Lovely staff, lovely selection of food on the brunch menu for reasonable prices and perfect portion sizes. Honestly delicious food also, would love to visit again.

I have been living in the area for 26 years and always wanted to visit this restaurant. The parents visiting at Easter seemed like a good excuse and it was excellent. Met all my expectations of a small private restaurant with a chef that cooks fresh food. I lovely menu with lots of good options for every taste, after running my own restaurant in the area for the last 15 years I understand how difficult it is to retain good staff, a good chef and customers. I Will definitely be visiting again. My only concern after speaking to the locals is that the menu doesn't change very often at all.
Had a great lunch, food was lovely staff were friendly a real nice experience. I have been before and will definitely be returning.
First time eating here and through a local foodie group, so there were 24 of us in total.
From arrival to leaving the service was exceptional, the speed of the three courses and drinks were excellent also, but most of all the food itself was impeccable, quite possibly one of the best lamb shanks I've ever had too.
Will definitely be back.
Lovely evening at Sofleys. Food was really nice with good portions. My chicken was lovely. The pork could have been a little bit softer. The Tiramisu was beautiful and the melting chocolate sphere was spectacular!!
