Lovely atmosphere food was delicious, on the day we was there they had meet the farmer he brought all his animals from sheep, dog and puppies and pony’s. We ate tuna sandwiches which was devine and cream teas and some fries. Staff friendly, very clean, reasonably priced.

We visited the restaurant whilst staying at the Whalesborough Cottages and we all had a fantastic dinner. The locally sourced food was amazing and there was a lot on offer on the menu. The food came out promptly, tasted amazing and the staff were wonderful. We happened to visit close to Halloween so there was a lovely hallow display by the front door, decorations inside and some spooky themed cocktails on offer as well which were very well crafted. Everything was great value for money as well so we would happily return to the Weir on our next visit to the cottages or even pop in for a coffee as it’s located next to a lovely lake and dog walking spots.

Great place to stop after a 4k walk from Bude along the River Neet path. Breakfast is recommended. Only negative was the outside terrace could do with a clean as quite a few cobwebs around, that look to have been there a while.

Large spacious seating, not cramped. Lots of room for a pushchair/wheelchair around the tables. Great views. Food and coffees are amazing and always arrives quickly. Self seating, and order at the register.

sadly they ran out of the things we wanted to order, but managed to get other food instead. It was lovely, staff was polite and quick to serve what we ordered. Views are amazing. Great little place for a picnic

Love this place but don't get to visit often. Good service, great cake, and coffee. Love the lake below watching the wildlife. There are a few public footpaths through here and, of course, the canal walk. In summer, they hold bbq evenings, always smells great. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained.

Finally made it to the Weir after a beautiful walk along the Bude canal. Lovely location for this cafe with great views of the canal. Lovely outdoor seating and looked great inside too. Coffees were excellent and the ginger and apricot flapjack was outstanding. Friendly staff and only £10 for the 2 coffees and a large portion of flapjack

We just stopped for coffee this time but I was very impressed with the swan that was on my latte! It was nice to meet the gorgeous alpacas too ❤️ It was a beautiful day and I hope the weather is good for the chill & grill sessions next Friday when we can get there!

Great location, we visited on what was a very quiet Saturday night, service was very friendly. The menu was great, the sirloin steak I had was excellent, the venison was lovely ..... if only there had been two left ;o) The sea bass special and the mac and cheese were also well worth trying. The food was all well presented, high quality produce and timing was ideal. We had the apple crumble, brownie and a slice of the chocolate cake for dessert and all we're very well received! So definitely worth a visit, would be nice to go back when it's a bit busier for more atmosphere but all in all a great meal. A big 'Thankyou' to our server, was lovely and very apologetic when two of our choices only had single portions left, the alternatives we chose certainly wernt a compromise, and very grateful for the complimentary dessert.

Live just into North Devon, walked here from Bude for lunch with visiting family. Lovely setting and plenty of outside seating. Limited lunchtime menu but something for us all including vegan among us. Food was served promptly by friendly lady and it was all delicious. Only negative…young man behind counter walked past 3 times without a smile or even acknowledging our presence on arrival, everyone else was lovely.

Lovely place for a meal and drinks, the steaks and burgers were amazing and there is a great play area for kids to play in. There were a couple of things that detracted from the experience; WASPS! Summertime = wasp season, but there must have been a nest on-site as we had a lot of them buzzing around our (outside) table, which spoiled the mood. Menu, ordered from the menu, paid and waited but didn't receive an item. Was them told they no longer serve that item... Maybe I got an old menu but It is the start of the summer season and the menus should really be up to date. Apart from those two minor (and they are minor gripes) the meal and place is fantastic. They just need a little bit more attention to detail to bring us back.

Always enjoy a visit to The Weir Bistro. It is a great setting, dogs are welcome, and there is a good range of quality food. We had the superfood salad with mackerel which was delicious.
