We had an absolutely wonderful lunch at Waverley House in Margate.
The setting was stunning looking out over the main beach at Margate. Beautifully elevated to be able to take in the full view but also to benefit from the breeze in 30C heat.
Our food was absolutely delicious. Our children really benefitted from the option to choose from the same menu but have a smaller portion at lower cost.
The service was exemplary, super friendly, really helpful and understanding of a family with two small people.
Overall, highly recommended.
You couldn't wish for better! The food is SUPER tasty, elegant without skimping on portion size (and you will want to eat it all even if you are full!). We had so many of the starters, my personal fav was the asparagus Caesar but all starters were tasty, cooked perfectly and sharable. The fish dishes are predictably perfect, large portions of fish with the perfect measure of sauces and vegetable pairing. I had the pork as a main and it blew my mind. I keep thinking about how delicious it was and how I will probably just order that again! Decor is simple and fresh and the view is amazing. I would recommend for lunch dinner or even a wine and snack. It is flash enough for a fancy date and welcoming enough for a boozy lunch. (Which is what we had!) Service was brilliant, staff are knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list which is always a mark of service that takes pride in where they work. And they should, I am proud to have this on my doorstep.

Very good quality ingredients being used. Roast dinner is very tasty and highly recommended. We’ve tried a few places locally and this one is definitely amongst the best in the area. The service also was ok. The day we visited it was particularly cold. And it didn’t seem like the heating had been put on early enough so we sat in our coats! Kind of felt a little cafe style atmosphere compared to other good quality restaurants in the area. Other than those small details the food and service was fantastic .
Great bar and restaurant overlooking the seafront, with an open air roof terrace. Lovely friendly staff and great food as you take in the sea air on a sunny afternoon - what's not to like! 🌞
Ate here tonight and the food was impeccable. Porcetta was insane, steak delicious, grilled bream and risotto was like a holiday on a plate. Absolutely superb and lovely service too. If you live in Margate or are stopping by, go eat here. Cost was very reasonable too especially given how beautiful the food was.
Best meal we have had Thanet so far. My group have a variety of food needs from vegetarian, pescatarian, fat free vegan and are not straightforward but the staff served us all the most delicious food everyone cleared their plates. All stated that their meal was delicious, and looked good. The staff also created deserts off the menu tailored to the needs and desires of our group. They went the extra mile with service and served good wine.

Food was good. I'd perhaps not have done the asparagus with breadcrumb, and fried bread with terrine is an interesting choice, but the schnitzel was the best I've had since I was in Vienna a couple of months previously.
The schnitzel was the star of the show, closely followed by a genuinely delicious chocolate orange mousse.
Absolutely exquisite every single time!! We always visit Waverly House and when they were formerly New Street Bistro and every meal has been faultless.
Always the most attentive staff and lovely service everytime.
The roast dinners are amazing too!
If you can sit on their balcony, do it!
This is a very special dining experience in the centre of Margate. I was really impressed with the quality food, service and location and I would rate this as one of the finest dining experiences I have tried recently.
A wide and varied menu with lots of choices for all palets.
The drinks are great, with a good wine list cocktails and more.
The starters I had were absolutely delicious: Padron peppers with romesco sauce, Prawns with aioli and Seared scallops with pea puree
and chorizo vinaigrette.
For mains I had slow roasted pork belly with creamed hispi cabbage and pancetta. This was delivered very quickly and was very tasty. The seared Tuna steak nicoise salad was again unbelievably good.
Dessert of poached cherries, peaches with marscapone and salted almonds topped the meal off perfectly.
The whole experience at Waverley house was great. Booking is essential to guarantee a table and there are stairs to get to the dining area.
Highly recommended!

We had our first meal at this lovely restaurant on Sunday and it was superb. I can thoroughly recommend the Pea Risotto and my husband loved the Chicken Schnitzel . The service was quick and efficient and the ambience great. We will definitely be going back on our next visit to Margate.
Excellent restaurant and staff. We turned up when we could not get into the Seafood restaurant next door.
The food was great and the staff provided us with blankets so that the children can watch the sunset from the deck.
Would definitely recommend the fish dishes and scallops but their veggies are so good that even the children loved it!
Wow, wow, wow, absolutely blown away by the quality of the cooking/dish composition. We had the trout tartare and the caprese salad to start. The little crispy chips on the tartare were delish. For our mains, we had the salmon and a burger. Everything was so good, and we got to sit on the terrace and watch the gorgeous sunset. The servers were very nice. Seriously, the food was so good we considered asking to meet the chef. Hats off!
This is a really nice place. The service is excellent and prompt. You are greeted and taken to your table. The food is very good and I can recommend the merguez sausages starter. 😋
This was our first time back here in over a year. The decor has changed and the menu updated. The room overlooks the main sands at Margate and on a sunny day like we had it is a lovely view.

The purple sprouting broccoli and terrine starters were so good, Four mains between us we tried the salmon, the homemade burger and the grilled courgettes - all the food was outstanding. The prices are also very reasonable.
Would definitely recommend this place.
amazing food and even better service - we were sat outside when it started to rain and the staff made room for us to sit inside so we didn’t get wet! very friendly wait staff and we were really pleased with the food/wine we had.
