Incredible experience! An amazing sunny lunch, the restaurant is a completely open space, with lots of tables outside. As it has a open kitchen and fridge at the entrance, was amazing to see how everything was perfectly clean and organise, even when they started picking up with covers. Food was just INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS, and the service was attentive, friendly and fun. Everyone was really great, definitely one of the best meals ever! Not many picture taken, food was just too good 😂

Super delish food and attentive and friendly service. Highly recommended on a sunny day as outside seating is available. The wine list was interesting, not specifically my cup of tea but it did not spoil the experience. A must visit place in Margate.

So glad we booked ahead of time, every dish was delicious! Impressive range of wines too. Most of the staff were excellent (apart from the older waitress who forgot her Ps and Qs, maybe she was having a bad day?). Mussels were incredibly fresh, skate wing and lentils had unique flavours and anchovies were just as good as you’d find in any Spanish bodega. Throughly recommend this restaurant if I’m the area.

Sargasso is a small restaurant and wine bar situated on Margate Pier, serving small plates. Small tables, seats at the bar counter and a few tables outside. The service was great! Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu, making great recommendations. He had an in depth knowledge about the wines and aperitifs. Very impressive. The plates were delicious. We really enjoyed the fish/seafood, the variety of vegetable dishes and a scrumptious burrito dish. I would highly recommend!

We were lucky enough to get a table while we were visiting Margate. Excellent service, great spot for a date, and excellent fresh seafood. The standout was the oysters with chorizo - a surprisingly delicious combination that I didn’t know I needed in my life !

Not every dish is to the same level (some lack the punch of others) but when you find a flavour you like it’s excellent. Good drinks selection and attentive staff. Special shout out goes to the dark chocolate dessert. Such a perfect plate. Great that they had a separate vegan menu to cater for all preferences.

Had a few oysters and a glass of wine in the outdoors seating area overlooking the beach and it was such a treat. The waitress was also super helpful with helping me pick a wine, great service overall! Thanks

Amazing quality and delicious food, perfect location - would totally go again! Favourite dishes for me were skate with borlotti beans, salt fish beignets and the pickled chilli and sea bass ceviche

Food was delicious. Shame the customer service wasn’t too great. Been told to wait outside for a drink before they serve food. Waited an hour with a drink. When food service opened, we’ve been told we couldn’t sit inside without a reservation. The inside was completely empty for the two hours we’ve been here. Any customers could have been eating in. It was absolutely freezing outside and any business owner would think about their customers first, but apparently common sense isn’t for management in this business.

Great food. Particularly enjoyed the anchovies. Enjoyable cocktails. Spoiled somewhat by the service, very rushed and too keen to take away plates and drinks that were not yet finished. A £120 for two dining experience should not be rushed.

Fantastic food. Well prepared and made to perfection. Service is brilliant. Very stylish place and vibe. Good wine. Small plates full of flavour. Not cheap but good value in my opinion for the produce being used. Didn’t take photos of all the dishes unfortunately as keen to tuck in but all equally delicious. The only complaint was the day we visited, we sat by the window and it was a particularly cold day and the windows are draughty so we just kept our coats on. They could do with attention and not sure if any staff have actually sat at the tables when it’s cold. Other than that all 1st class and highly recommended. Have visited a few times and will definitely visit again.

Such a gem. We went for the oysters followed by sourdough and fresh salty butter, Calabrian anchovies, burrito with figs and onion and for the large plates, black pudding and Skate schnitzel - all were sublime. For drinks we simply had a aperitif and a glass of wine with the main meal and a dessert wine to finish. Be warned, it is pricey but utterly worth it. If that doesn't put you off then be sure to book in advance for dinner to avoid disappointment.

First of all I wanted to thank the staff at Sargasso for finding space for me at such short notice on a Saturday evening. I truly appreciate the gesture. Sargasso is situated right at the Margate pier. The restaurant itself is quite small (a good thing) with a really cool, understated vibe. The waiting staff were really friendly and helpful. We started with the Cantabrian anchovies that were to die for. When produce is good, it's good. We also had the Morro Fi chips to accompany them. They were one of the funkiest dishes that we had- basically you're getting crisps with hot green chillis/peppers, olives, mussels. It weirdly works 😁 We also had the sourdough bread and butter because we needed something carby to dunk into the Cantabrian anchovies' olive oil. One of our mains was the squid with black pudding and chickpeas. The squid was perfectly cooked and the flavour was tasty. The black pudding works really well in a combination with the rest of the ingredients too. My dinner companion doesn't eat meat and had the dish without the black pudding and said that they felt that something was missing, so you've got to have it with the black pudding! Another main that we tried was the lemon sole, which was absolutely delicious. The cocktails were delicious too. We had the negroni with mezcal and the sherry with tonic! 👌 I'd love to come back and try the rest of the menu too

I had heard such great things about Sargasso and it did not disappoint. Amazing food and and extremely accommodating. Turned up on an evening that looked like it was about to rain with no booking, sat outside and was offered a two seat table inside with our border terrier if the weather did change for the worst. Fortunately the sun came out and we enjoyed some of the best quality food in a very long time. Thank you to the team for a great experience.
