Gorgeous building housing some marvellous food places and wonderful unique stalls selling all sorts. There's a mini pub, cocktail bar,fab bakery and a café on a full size London bus.I had lunch on the bus which was great. The food was lovely and you get to sit on the open top deck which consists of bus seats and tables. You can also glance at some of the goodies being sold by the stalls upstairs,as you can see them from the top deck of the bus.Fab place!
Utterly charming and quirky. What a hidden gem this place is. We grabbed a bite to eat on the London double decker bus (how exactly did they get it inside?)we had the baked camembert to share and a few drinks. Great food and excellent customer service. It's well worth a look if your heading Margate way.
Love this place , eaten at various food stalls and they are al lovely , went to the smoke shack today which was delicious and as always got my loaf of bread from bakery and two hot cross buns ! To die for! Definitely recommended going in there xx
Wow!!!! Looking at this beautiful building from the outside, you simply couldn't guess what awaits you inside! A splendid art deco picture house converted with the most amazing imagination! Fabulous delis & eateries downstairs, whilst upstairs you can peruse small boutiques & curios & even visit a barbers! The most brilliantly surreal fixture has got to be the double decker bus converted into a cafe (where we sat & had the most wonderful baked camembert & a cider). I loved this place so much. It's so different. Oh, and if you're musically inclined, you're invited to tinkle of the ivories (just dont let your kids on it if they can't play the piano as the result is murder on the rest of us!)
Very electic place. Great cocktail bar and small bar. Make sure you pay a visit to Viet Vibe, a fabulous street-food style cafe serving excellent Vietnamese food. Try the tofu and aubergine curry and the caramelised pork! The bakery was closed when we went as it was quite late but I believe this is also well worth a visit.
Such a (relatively) undiscovered gem in Margate! Where else can you go for a bite/drink, do a spot of shopping and have your hair/nails etc done at the same time... yes you can go to Westwood, but would it have OKMs kooky charm? <3 <3 xx
Pizza is best I've ever eaten good price too all fresh cooked to order
I love this place. Healing, Crystals, international street food, jewellery, dog treats, news agents, ice cream, cocktails, fruit, clothes, fresh organic bread, palm reading, coffee, cakes, gifts, cards, pies, pancakes, barbers and always new things popping up, all under one roof (I go there every day some weeks) who needs department stores and shopping centres when we have The Old Kent Market?
Fabulous market. Great stalls. Lot of special gifts for everyone! Great place to meet up with friends!
IDA KATARNIINA. Fantastic copper pipe. candle sticks, herb pot stands, and so much more. Really beautifully made! You must come and see!!❤️
A perfect place for people to come and enjoy good food, great atmosphere and all the amazing retail stalls. Especially the Seaside Special Designs! You can find the MOST amazing colourful upcycle candles in there, with all different lovely smells. Go and have a look - I really recommend it!!
As usual Gina didn't disappoint! Hot fresh from the oven, veggie rolls yummy x
Best hot cross bun for breakfast ever... Inside On the top deck of a London bus too!! Perfect start to a day by the seaside!
Great quirky place we are on the open top bus good experience and lots going on inside more shops/stalls in the making!
Lovely place with lovely people and lovely food and drinks Definitely recommended
My favourite place. Everything under one mad, lovely roof.
This place has become a foodie delight with stalls selling top notch food. The pizza, Greek and Indian are all great but we ate at newcomer Tic's Bus Cafe yesterday an Asian menu including delicious noodle soup, a penang curry and a succulent chicken Satay burger where all excellent value and there is bus seating up stairs which gives an American Diner vibe. Afterwards we had sweet treats from Gina's Bakery and the awesome Ice Cream shop. Fun little shops well worth a browse and it was all set up for Halloween with a spider room to make you squeal and howling animatronic zombies. Well worth a visit

Love the vibe, super cosy, great food and definitely a place to go if you're just passing by. Not very big though, make sure you don't miss the first floor!
Eccentric and fascinating foodie court in Old Market indoors.
Maybe had to high expectations or need to revisit to get better food experience but building itself makes still huge impression and rating is mainly for that
Nice but quite abandoned place. Great coffee and lemon bun!
Coffe from The Old Kent Roastery amazing!! Will be back!

Quirky space with a variety of food, drink, and shops. Definitely worth popping into if you're in Margate.
Full of a broad range of pop-up stalls and food fronts with exciting cuisines! Each with their own distinctive take, there's half a bus inside as well and upstairs a whole bunch of small independent artisanal shops.
Really quirky place with lots of miniature shop fronts with bars, cafes, restaurants (takeaway) a bakery and cute shops. Love the small scale of everything. There's places to sit on benches to enjoy your food and drink. Good for taking some unique photos.
The Old Kent Market is a hidden gem that offers a delightful shopping experience.
Gina's is a charming bakery located within the Old Kent Market, and it quickly became a favorite spot of mine. The aroma of freshly baked goods wafts through the air, enticing visitors with a mouthwatering selection of treats.
The variety of buns and pastries at Gina's is simply remarkable. From fluffy cinnamon rolls to delectable fruit-filled pastries, there's something to satisfy every craving. The quality of the baked goods is exceptional, with each bun boasting a perfect balance of flavor, texture, and sweetness. It's evident that Gina's takes great pride in using high-quality ingredients and expert craftsmanship to create their delectable offerings.
Not only are the buns at Gina's scrumptious, but the service is also friendly and inviting. The staff members are passionate about their creations and are always ready to offer recommendations and answer any questions. They take the time to ensure that each customer's experience is enjoyable, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The Old Kent Market itself is a vibrant and bustling space. It houses a variety of unique stalls, showcasing local artisans and independent businesses. From handmade crafts to vintage treasures, there's an abundance of hidden gems waiting to be discovered. The market exudes a lively and creative energy, making it a joy to explore.
The Old Kent Market and Gina's is a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts and those seeking a delightful shopping experience. With its mouthwatering selection of buns and pastries, exceptional quality, and friendly service, Gina's stands out as a true gem within the market. Paired with the vibrant and diverse offerings of the Old Kent Market, it promises a memorable and satisfying visit for all who venture through its doors.
This market hall is on the site of the old Parade Cinema and has been restored to incorporate the building's history and heritage.
It houses an eclectic mix of stalls selling food and crafts, with pop-up stalls throughout the year. The Little Prince is believed to be the smallest pub in the UK, transformed from a disused sushi bar into a space for only six people at a time. An open-top bus restaurant adds to the mix. Seating is available inside the building and on the front pavement. Definitely worth a visit.
Lots of different types of food and drinks. A must see in Margate. We had the Vietnamese food at the very back and it was amazing.
Found it by accident, had a day out in Margate and saw the bright red building... What a joy !! Quirky and so much to look at.. Fabulous independent units, food, drinks, clothes.. best Bath Buns from Gina's Old Kent bakery, coffee from Old Kent Roastery, and lovely curry and wraps from Foody Moody.. Would recommend, and will be going back 😃
Amazing place for international cuisine - small stores, local feel, great value food!
Good for vegetarians and vegans (I got the Greek beetroot pita!)
Small indoor market with a surprising number of shows and food options cramed inside.
Nice vibe and good range of food. Pizza was very nice but let it cool bad! Mouth is still recovering.
I love this place with its a variety of eateries, places to drink and shops to browse - a lot under one roof but recommended visit if in Margate.
A great atmosphere and set up.
One of the best place you can feel the old market vibe in Kent. There are very rich options for food and drinks. A good pizza you can find.
Nice little indoor market on two levels, mostly all things food and drink were on the ground floor, sadly only two of the upstairs seller were open for business but well worth a visit.
Lovely place and they have great, affordable food as well! We tried the bakery there. Wonderful place for a coffee, lunch or a quick bite.
Best veggie breakfast! Great find, we ate on the top deck of a double decker bus inside the market. Good food, fast friendly service.
