Had chicken, rice & peas, & dumplings all of which were great, followed by the best panna cotta I've ever had - mango with a raspberry sauce, amazing! Good food & music, friendly relaxed vibe. Definitely recommend.

I don't often leave reviews but the meal we had last night was so good I felt I had to. We ate from the set menu which was very reasonably priced. The salmon starter was amazing and the blackened swordfish was divine. Don't even get me started on the homemade honeycomb ice cream!!!!! The service was excellent and the atmosphere welcoming. I highly recommend that you try it. We will certainly be back! Thank you.

Our eldest daughter had eaten here before and enjoyed the food. Modern European with a Caribbean twist is a good overall description of the menu and the flavouring and ingredients of the dishes I ordered certainly bore this out. The salt fish and akee starter was light, delicate and pretty with a good amount of foavour. This was followed by the spicy beef with garlic mash and broccoli stems. There was, in my view, just the right amount of heat that tickled the palette and the meat was melt in the mouth in a wonderful sauce. The mash was well made but I'd personally welcome more garlic and the broccoli was cooked just right with a small amount of bite. A wide choice of dishes, my wife enjoyed the same main preceded by the soup of the day, cauliflour and cumin, that was silky smooth and mildly spiced and my daughter did not lack for food despite being vegan. Her starter of plantain was followed by a vegetable curry with the same garlic mash rather than the rice accompaniment. Both set menus, which are good value for 2/3 dishes, and al a carter are available along with a good selection of wines and cocktails. I loved the ambience, comfy chairs, appropriate but unobtrusive music and attentive staff. We shall certainly come again when visiting Margate.

Really enjoyed this place. Feel it is somewhere that could be easily missed amongst the hipster food joints, as it is quite traditional in decor, but the service was excellent and the food very tasty. Particularly enjoyed the Ackee and Salfish starter and the Plaintain tart. Reasonably priced lunch menu in particular, with 3 courses for 14.95.

Excellent food and service! Jerk king prawns with mango and papaya to start, the softest juicy jerk chicken with basil mash and pan fried plantain, and now waiting for the best ginger sponge with vanilla ice cream 😋 all washed down with Dark Horizon, rum cocktail with cassis and sarsaparilla!! Heaven.

Absolutely super place, with great food, great beer (Curious Lager) and great service. Only minor quibble is can you please repair your front door so that it fully closes and keeps the cold out.

I don't think I have ever visited somewhere where you can have such value for money fine dining and also get to listen to Sean Paul for the majority of the meal! Wholeheartedly the best idea for an anniversary dinner yet. The food was so delicious, the drinks were great and we felt well accommodated and generally just happy to be there.

Amazing quality for the price. The staff were lovely, and the food was very tasty. We had a curried scallop and jerk sausage for starter which was really good. My partner had the jerk burger and I had the Curried Goat. Both were really good, but I would have liked more heat in the curry. I asked to swap the rice for plantain and they were very happy to accommodate me, which was lovely. We had 1 starter 2 mains and 4 double gnts for about £65, for the quality of the food the price is amazing.

What a great place. Antonio and his friendly team provide some absolutely astonishing dishes, a good selection of wine and, naturally, a remarkable selection of rum. One of us had the goat curry the other the blackened swordfish, although would have gladly chosen pretty much any of the dishes. Good wine, great service, great value and rounded off with some fine rum... perfect. Highly recommended! Go try it.

Went in for the Carribean night (5 courses!). The sardines were great (me and my partner do like fresh fish). The jerk sausage and mash was good but personally would have liked a bit more heat. The boozy pineapple+ ice cream we could really have done with a fork rather than chase it all around the plate. Overall good value and good food.

Went here for a late lunch at 2:00. Yummy ital stew and the curried chickpeas with pitta were great. The vegetable roti was also good but considering it's literally a veggie wrap with fries and salad, £12 for that is too much! Only complaint is that our waitress was very disinterested and acted like she didn't want to be there.

What a wonderful place! Taste of the Caribbean. Tucked behind the museum away from the angry crowds right on the front. Great service, food and drink. One good reason ( maybe the only one) for going to Margate. Ackee and salt cod, Jerk chicken with rice and peas (and chicken gravy to die for), Mac ‘n cheese, Sweetcorn fritters. I wanted to eat the whole menu. Great choice of drinks. Inside is very comfortable and a few small tables outside. Don’t go to Margate…( without going here)

Hands down best authentic Caribbean restaurant I have been to. Service and food was outstanding. I have been to a few Caribbean restaurants but Mullins is by far best we’ve had. We were staying nearby and decided on our last night to give it a try. We made the right choice. Love how the restaurant has been organised. Great location and very friendly staff. If you are looking for a superb example of great Caribbean cuisine this is it. I had the Chicken Roti whilst my wife and youngest had the curry goat and eldest had Jerk chicken. Portion size was perfect. We were all very happy. 3 of us had the ginger sponge whilst eldest had vanilla cheese cake. Again outstanding. Me and wife both agreed a two hour drive from where we live to visit Mullins again would absolutely be worth it. Expect us back again soon!

Lovely place. Restaurant is warm and clean. Food was delicious and not overpriced. I can recommend the curry goat with the rice and peas. Ginger cake was moist, plentiful and moreish. Service was good too. Reggae music playing quietly in background. Will definitely be back

It was 1pm when I walked past Mullins brasserie not planning to go in to eat but to just use the loo. Once I entered the restaurant I was greeted with such a kind lady with the widest smile and the sound of the Kingston army song gently playing ambiently. It made me feel warm and close to my home away from home. I was just drawn to look at the menu to see all the food I had when my Jamaican grandpa used to feed me when I was younger. So I had to give it a try! I felt it would be wrong of me to not have a cocktail with a Barbadian rum. Which I had not experienced in such a long time. The lovely lady which I previously was greeted by helped with which cocktail to have from the wide selection from the menu and the one she helped me choose was to die for so refreshing and not overpowering. It was perfect!! I went and ordered Ackee and saltfish with a side order Fried plantain. It was so beautifully presented on the plate and It got me so excited it was a blast from the past with every bite. The nutty taste of the lobes of ackee was complemented perfectly with the sharp salinity and firm texture of salt cod. The plantain was sweet but savoury. Such a wonderful combination with the main dish. I then finished up with a dessert which had to be the raspberry cheesecake once again it was presented like some Jamaican art. It tasted as good as it looked. I felt every bit of money spent on the great experience was worth while maybe even worth more. Mullins Brasserie was a beautiful Jamaican pearl sat in the middle of Margate old town. I felt so relaxed and I believe everyone should experience this experience local or tourist. I would also like say great thanks to the waitress (elize) for her hospitality she did the business very proud will be coming again very soon.

As a party of 5 people who all chose a different dish, we all found the food lovely and the service exceptional. The waitress was very helpful in ensuring that we all got home safely when let down by the cab company who should have collected us. Many thanks.

I haven't been here for years and I'm glad it's back open. Myself and my partner fancied a night out with Great carribean and Barbadian quisine. Staff were very well coming and organised. Food ordering was easy and the our orders came out promptly. Food was piping hot when it came out and those mouth watering ingredients took me right back to my holiday in Jamaica 🇯🇲 . The only thing I missed was the cocktails but I'm sure they will be back in the future.

Lovely to find a Caribbean restaurant in Margate Old Town but neither the name nor the building would suggest this type of cuisine. The interior is lovely and the tables are very well spaced to comply with COVID regulations. Service was also friendly and efficient. Had the Creole Mussels starter and Jerk Chicken main; both very tasty and well-cooked, but maybe the spices were a little too toned down for the British palate. Good portion sizes and very reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend.

Visited here on Saturday night. I love Caribbean food but hadn’t seen it done quite like this before. Absolutely scrumptious and I liked the relaxed atmosphere, too
