A unique menu, creative and tasty. Our pre starter was delicate and tickled our taste buds. I had a shared seafood platter that included soft shell crab, a spiced crab cake and deep fried prawn all locally sourced with piquant and flavoursome sides. My main of pork belly with a pork curry sauce and rice was also succulent, had levels of flavour and spice with crispy skin on the side.
English wines were a good accompaniment, especially the house white and I’m looking forward to a return visit, perhaps to sample their tasting menu.

This is by far the best food I’ve ever eaten in a restaurant! It was my 4th time there and I am never disappointed! Delicious food, wonderful service and good atmosphere! On our last visit we also had the pleasure of live jazz, which made our evening even more perfect.
I adore this restaurant and visit whenever in Margate or the surrounding area. But tonight was my first experience of sampling the tasting menu. The pre starter of the day did not disappoint, and the seafood dish was excellent. I tried hard to learn the secrets of the clove and saffron sauce, but no avail. Although the chocolate platter was sublime, the expertly and perfectly cooked and spiced lamb dish stole the show. The Cabernet Sauvignon by the glass was as good as I remembered. An exquisite evening of fine dining complimented by exemplary service!

I love this resteraunt, having been many times and never been disappointed. The food is always flavoursome locally sourced ingredients cooked with an Asian twist.... Totally recommend. Also the service is second to none.
We went for Saturday lunch and The food was absolutely amazing. Complimentary taster were given. For our main I had the butternut squash risotto which was gorgeous and my husband had the beef stew. Flavours were delicious. I also had the house Rose wine which was very nice. Would definitely recommend xx

We have visited several times and never been disappointed with our meals at Ambrette Margate, staff are very accommodating and the food is divine, the tasters between courses are a nice touch. All in all a lovely relaxing atmosphere.

We booked Sunday lunch at The Ambrette in Margate. It won Restaurant of the Year in 2013 in the Taste of Kent awards and was just pipped to the post in this years awards by Rocksalt in Folkstone. I have never been much of a fan of Margate, but I have to say it is starting to grow on me, helped very much by its burgeoning food scene. We decided to explore Margate before lunch, there was actually quite a lot to see, we managed to fit in a visit to the monthy Cliftonville farmers market , a brief trip to the Turner Contemporary Gallery and wandered around the old town which has lots of interesting shops, cafes and architecture. Margate has really embraced the art scene and there are retro shops everywhere. The Ambrette is in the old town, just round the corner from the stunning Tudor House . The Ambrette has quite the reputation. Dev Biswal is famous for his spicing and is planning to open 4 more restaurants in Kent , which is very good news indeed. The hype is definitely justified, this
Lovely meal today with my better half. Used a 2for1 lunch voucher, 3 courses and prosecco. Great food and usual and friendly staff also ordered the afternoon tea for 2 to take home. Definitely be returning

Had a lovely meal out with hubby. As soon as you walk in you receive a very warm welcome. The staff were welcoming,nothing was too much trouble. Once we've received our food the staff were very knowledgeable about each course. It was fantastically presented and the taste ,well you need to go and try yourself so yummy. 😁
Inbetween courses we were asked if all was ok and everything was spot on. The staff are on top with how many times to come over and ask if all is ok,always a friendly smile. It was a very lovely evening and looking forward to going again soon. Thank you so much. XXXXX

Delicious three course lunch. Bought for me as a birthday gift, with prosecco. Food was delicious and service was fast and friendly. Only downside was that the prosecco was quite flat. All in all I will definitely return!
Absolutely beautiful food, plated to perfection. The service here is excellent, the staff are very attentive of your needs. Reasonably priced for the quality of the food. It's a great way of experiencing Indian flavours without the need for a curry! Highly recommended.
I almost don't want to tell people how brilliant The Ambrette is so that it stays my own secret.
It is amazing, properly amazing. The staff are beyond excellent they are helpful and have a wide knowledge of not only the menu but also other places to eat locally and are keen to offer ideas for you to continue your day/weekend/ holiday.
And the food... Oh my word the food.
Forget any ideas you have about knowing anything about food and just try anything that is suggested, holy flipping wow.
I genuinely can not express how brilliant the dishes are, the only thing you can do is just go and try it yourself. Do book ahead though, seriously book because you don't wanna be upset that you can get in.
I really enjoyed the food here, I would have given it 5 stars but lost a point as service was a bit slow, and I had to chase for orders, drinks and dessert. I would go again.

Five delicious Sunday roasts and a mix of starters from The Ambrette to cheer our lock-down Sunday. We had one of each tasty roasts. Beef, Lamb, Chicken , Pork and vegetarian and while we did not taste each others, everyone was super happy with their lunch box.
The mix of tasty sauces and starters complimented the banquet.
Other pluses: most of the containers were card board or aluminium. minimal plastic used for the sauces.
Driver was super helpful and polite
They called midway to check if everything was OK. YES IT WAS! Yummy.

Have been here now on the 3rd course of a 6 course taster menu with wines have had some of the most amazing food so far great flavours and well matched wines also one of the most welcoming person here has been the bar supervisor Christina who has catered to us so well with in between cocktails that we have asked for thank you if only all bars and resturants had a Christina lol if heinikan did bar staff Christina
The food was wonderful. The service was equally so. They genuinely care about what you think. Great level of spice.
We've only had take-away and not yet visited the restaurant but the food is fantastic. Genuinely some of the best Indian food I've had in the UK. In addition to this the customer service is first rate. We recently had a bit of a mix up with a delivery but it was all cleared up very quickly and generously. I love this place and I highly recommend it.
