Went on there this afternoon with little Ellie who's 6 she had the kids afternoon tea which consisted of sandwiches scone with fresh cream and jam plus little mini cakes and I have to say it was lush Ellie particularly loved having het blackcurrant juice in a tea pot and being able to pour it into her tea cup like a grown up there was so much that I had to help her out and eat some of her cake ! such great value for money. Ellie is already asking when can we go back ! my lemon driz0z0le cake and tea were also delicious

Everything you would expect in a tea shop and so much more. I will recommend it to everyone. One of the best afternoon teas I have ever had, as The Mad Hatter has savory afternoon teas as well as the more traditional sweet based ones. Thank you.

We popped along and had the Victorian afternoon tea for two, we were not disappointed. The sandwiches were lovely, the scones huge and delicious and the cakes, I had lemon drizzle and my girlfriend had the coffee and walnut, were incredible! The tea room itself is a lovely warm corner of Margate, and Jamie and Heidi have breathed new life into a wonderful place!

My first visit to this amazing restaurant while on a visit back to Margate from Nova Scotia. Incredible location and premises combined with super friendly, accommodating owners/staff and delicious food made lunch a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this restaurant and woul definitely return another time.

Thank you to all at the Mad Hatter for making my birthday special yesterday. Everyone loved the experience. The best homemade afternoon tea in Margate with delicious scones and a selection of cakes to die for, all made by the owners. Plus a glass of champagne, can't ask for more. And now the garden is open, a lovely sun trap. Bliss.....

Beautiful vintage style tea room with an array of foods to choose from. A friendly welcome into vintage soft music playing, cups and saucers and amazing cakes in alsorts of flavours adorn the glass cabinet. Inside & outside seating. Parking nearby & vintage shops. This truly is a place to stop for a cuppa & maybe a hot scone with jam & cream.

Lovely place right in the heart of Margate. The vintage atmosphere and the lovely view of the street create something really unique. The tea room is clean and tidy and the cakes are fresh and delicious, my espresso was very tasty too! 100/5 stars! :)

A really lovely little place, beautiful cosy decor and a great little garden outdoor seating area. The staff were amazing, and the food was really great. We had a savory and sweet afternoon tea and some coffees. All was delicious.

Oh, how this place blew us away... So tiny, nestled away in the old town, almost unthinkable you can have afternoon tea here with a group of 9. Although it was the hottest day of the year, we enjoyed afternoon tea thoroughly. The cakes are mouth-watering, the scones are gigantic, the jam is rich, the finger sandwiches are delicious. Everything was beyond our expectations. On top of this all, the owners and waiters are very sympathetic, they are always in for a little chat. One of the best afternoon teas I've ever had!

I popped in with my toddler and husband to escape the rain and what a brilliant find! A lovely tea room with a great atmosphere, wonderful service and delicious cakes. Very family friendly and so accommodating to my little boy... who particularly loved the chocolate orange cake. Definitely recommend!
