We went to the talbot restaurant for the 8 course tasting menu, last night and had an amazing experience!! The food was as high a standard as any top restaurant in a big city. There was a great variety of dishes and we enjoyed them all. We decided to have the pairing wine option, which added to the experience. Tavy, the wine expert. Was extremely knowledgeable about all the wines and how they complemented the dishes. What made the evening so special were the staff. From the moment we walked into the restaurant we were looked after. All the waitresses were extremely professional and told us about each dish. I will definitely be returning!!

Went for Festive Christmas Dinner and I had Salmon and hazelnut cheesecake. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff. Homemade shortcake was lovely. Lovely setting and was not rushed at all. Compliments to everyone.

Me and my partner went for a meal and had arancini for starter, the mushroom pie and steak for our mains, and a dessert cocktail afterwards. All was absolutely lovely and great service, looking forward to going again.

Next level dining in an 'out of the way' pub, which the locals are trying to keep under their hats. The menu is great something for everyone. The quality of the food is obvious and the execution of making mouth watering meals that leave you full and happy. If you are passing stop in everything is good. If you aren't passing ...make a detour. It is well worth. The staff are great too 😄

The Talbot is a real village gem! The food is excellent and the range of beers, wines, and spirit is of a high standard. Bar food is delicious and served with a smile. Now for the restaurant upstairs... The food is off the scale! Their tasting menu evenings are at Michelin standard and they make a real effort to share information on the wine pairings. Beautiful, delicious, and diverse flavours supported by an excellent team. Highly, highly, recommended.

Our 'local' serving quality 'local' beer and quality food. A nice pub 'vibe' and always pristine. If you haven't been here and tried the 'Steak & ale' pie get it on your 'to do'list. In one word......... Superb.

The Talbot is a beautifully presented, local pub offering home made food and tasty drinks..... their steak & ale pie with vegetables & potatoes of your choice - 2nd to NONE!! getting served at the bar can be trying as the pub does get busy...... but is worth the wait. Open fire in the bar and comfortable seating. I highly recommend The Talbot for hearty, local fayre 😊

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Pleasant upstairs dining area away from "the pub". Fairly quiet though for a Saturday evening. Found we were sat next to a radiator which was on despite it being July and 20+ degrees that evening. A decent selection of options on the menu from pie and chips at £15 to Chateaubriand £60 for two people. Disappointing they had run out of Diane sauce for the steak ( surely they could make their own)? Food was very well presented and portion size was good. Very pleased with my Jacobs ladder bbq short ribs. My partner wasn't overkeen on her lamb which was fatty and rather bland. All in all a pleasant visit and may well be worth a return visit.
