Called in Sir John Cockle for evening meal after a day out with my son. The bar staff were really nice and we didn't have much of a wait for our food. I had a chicken and bacon salad and my son had the steak and ale pie - we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Will definitely recommend to friends & family and will be going back.
16 of us went here last night for our works night out the staff are brill sorted all our meals out quickly and got served really quick even tho it was busy would definitely recommend John cockle to anyone going out in a big group for food really enjoyable evening �
Quality pub , friendly bar staff with excellent service , run by top notch landlady / landlord who always make sure your time in the pub is enjoyable ..... grate pub and anybody who says otherwise don't know sh*t !!!
Just recently had my husbands 50th birthday party here, everyone had a fantastic night, I also had a buffet, the rates were very reasonable, we also got a disco included, bonus, � the DJ was brill too, got everyone up dancing, we had a section of the pub reserved for our party. I highly recommend if your thinking of having a party give them a call.
Went for family Christmas meal about 35 of us the staff could not have been more helpful the food was piping hot even the kids enjoyed making snowmen out of the marshmallows they provided. ��
Great Mansfield pub ran by Terry & Elaine always busy soul nights on last saturday of the month and sunday soul afternoons on 2nd sundays plus quiz nights charity events etc

the food was well presented and hot!!
The hand battered fish was lovely
my youngest enjoyed her chicken Nuggets and chips
my eldest had Southern fried hunters chicken which was really nice
will 100% be visiting again

Called in here today having walked up and down dale from Motorhome Depot, whilst our PVC was being repaired. The walk was worth it.
Lovely lady behind bar, Phoebe, gave our two dogs a drink as soon as we walked in. Unfortunately, didn’t have any fish for the “fish and chips” so only 4⭐️s. Prices really good in here compared to Lincoln. Pub was not busy at 1.30pm but noticed that Phoebe busied herself cleaning in the bar area. Hope her boss appreciates her.
UPDATE: owner replied as soon as I posted my review. When we pulled up pub on Google, there was a video of a couple dancing to Northern Soul. We love Northern Soul and, if you let us know when your next event is and we can park our small motorhome in your car park for the night, we will ensure we get as many people as we can to attend🤗
Amazing food. The menu ante massive so everything is cooked perfectly.
Had a rump steak cooked blue!!! Really impressed with it, little fat and gristle on it. Hat off to the chef!!!

The cockle offers gluten free menu,and they are really helpful in putting meals together. Yes chips are on the menu the attention to detail is excellent Celiac people like myself it's a great pub menu. Fabulous landlord and landlady ⭐
Was in cockle to day . Served by Lucy . Sarah . Ambra was lovely , smiley . Pleasant , welcoming . And atmosphere was family friendly. Come here 3/4 times a week . Xxx 😘

Great drinks, great atmosphere. The staff were polite and friendly, the food stopped early on a Sunday so we didn't manage to try the food.
