One of the better places to stop and have a meal, other than the boat to or from Harwich. Went on a Tuesday and they had a 2 pound deal on starters and desserts! Hello!! Had a great three course meal for two course meal prices and they serve until 10 pm. A nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

A very welcome cosy place at the end of a 5 hour drive to catch the ferry. The staff were polite & joined in great conversation & the food was hot & delicious! We hope to make it a regular start to our visits to Holland!

Pleasant country pub with polite and friendly staff. The food here is excellent. I had a steak and ale pie with veg and my wife had the roast if the day, they were deliciously cooked with plenty of veg. I also had a blackberry and apple crumble with custard, old fashioned dessert and big portion. This was a great value for money meal and would recommend this place for a nice meal.

We love this Pub. Their Sunday Roast Dinner is the best, & the Apple Crumble is delicious. The staff are always very friendly & helpful, & nothing is too much trouble for them. It's a lovely traditional country Pub, & in our opinion the best in the area. We never go anywhere else for a Sunday Roast, as they can't be beaten.

Stopped for lunch. Menu was expansive enough to offer choice to fit you pocket, IIRC main meals approx £10-25. Included a number of "home made" dishes. Lovely food, definitely one to re-visit.

Good food, friendly people, nice interior. I rate 10/10 would recommend. Not very busy when we had dinner there on a sunday evening, but they had lovely quiet music playing in the background which greatly added to the very old and English atmosphere together with the nice mugs hanging on the low ceiling with funny old-school paintings in the themes of drinking and beer hanging on the wall. All in all a very nice place to have some quiet dinner with some people you know.

Great staff from start to finish. Polite , and friendly .Nothing was to much for them Nice warm welcome . My wife loved her goat curry . I saw apple crumble on the menu so asked if they can do cold custard with my apple crumble, of which they did do for me . The custard was to die for . Definitely going back there again
