Best pizza we have found and we have tried many. If we want an italian meal we always book to dine at Lucca. My fiancè grew up in Rome so he knows how a great pizza should taste! Great food with fresh quality ingredients, lovely atmosphere and brilliant staff! Sempre Lucca!
My friend and I visited for lunch today with my little baby girl. The staff are friendly and attentive and the food is fresh and amazingly tasty. I'd definitely recommend this place and I will be back soon
Consistently good. Been many times and always had a lovely meal. Great service, delicious food and always a nice ambience. Not ridiculously expensive too. Would happily recommend.
Friendly, helpful staff. Tasty food as always although the size of garlic bread & Nutella pizza seemed considerably smaller than we've usually had which was rather disappointing! Great ambience, service and food!
Came here with my wife and 2 young children on a Sunday night. Sat outside and were well served, considering the British July weather (cold and blustery, of course!). Excellent waiting staff and, from what we could see, excellent and clean kitchen. Food was beyond reproach and drinks were just right. House red and white both better than all but the best that local shops can offer.
Brought my parents on a Thursday who couldn't believe how great it all was.
Staff were amazing with the children and there was a great atmosphere in general.
Pizza dough is the best I've ever encountered.
Oils are the best I've ever encountered.
I would highly recommended to anyone from any walk of life!
Lucca is "my local" restaurant - been there many times and never been disappointed - lovely atmosphere, excellent food and very attentive staff. (The only "let down" is the very busy A12 making it extremely difficult for my family to arrive on time from different parts of Essex). Thanks for your patience Lucca 😃
Lovely meal out for my son's birthday. We couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. My son was lucky enough to be invited to make his own pizza which made his birthday treat even more special. Fabulous staff - thankyou!
Our waitress was helpful, knowledgeable, friendly.... Food was outstanding....only a shame lasagne not on the menu and nothing with chicken (except on sat/sun).... Otherwise couldn't fault a thing x

Had been meaning to visit Lucca for many years as it had be recommended to me several times & I certainly wasn't disappointed. Staff we very professional and attentive, food was fantastic & the chocolate pizza desert was amazing. 👍

Came to this restaurant with my partner and daughter for an early Sunday dinner.
This place is as close to Italy you will get in the area, food was truly fantastic and the aesthetics of the restaurant tops it off.
I deem the pricing of the food to be very reasonable, a pizza and pasta dish, along with a drink, only set us back £23.00. For the quality you get, it’s brilliant.
We decided to sit outside in the lovely, colourful courtyard. We were the only ones out there, and that is why I also assume attentiveness in the staff did lack slightly.
After bringing awareness to us going outside, we seemed to be forgotten about and I had to go ask for menus and also then go up and order the food too.
Apart from this minor and easily-done courtesy error, I can’t fault the establishment in any other way and can only recommend it to anyone looking for a mouth-watering Italian experience.
Had never been here before, and I'm sooo so glad I got to visit Today. The staff were all brilliant, very welcoming, it was a lovely atmosphere. The food was amazing, had a ham and mushroom pizza with a fried egg added, was so good. Pudding was equally as good, sadly was so excited to eat it that I forgot to take a photo. But had panna cotta with a berry compote, yum. Hope to go back, really enjoyed it.
A brilliant place to eat and spend quality time with your friends & family. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere friendly & helpful, delivered with decent value too. We've had many a happy meal here and would highly recommend.

Fantastic. Came for dinner with the family and we're met by friendly staff who saw us to our table. Ordered our food (sharing platters to start and a mix of pizza and pasta dishes for mains) and every thing we had tasted amazing. The food and service were first class and we will definitely be returning.
Portion size and value for money are so good.

Lovely menu, Lovely food. Good service. Will defo be going back again. Highly recommended. Not at all what I was expecting. I think I'd been to too many Italian chains and they put me off but this little restaurant was superb. There is parking outside, not many spaces but we found a spot easy enough when shops shut. Child friendly and good menu. Clean and tidy, too!

Lucca's is one of our favourites! Pizza is always brilliant, lots of options and good pasta too.
Drinks are good and staff are usually very chatty.

Great little Italian place in city centre. Our wood fired pizza was delicious. They have weekly spcials on drinks and food. Fast and friendly service...we ate inside during covid, but they do have heaters outside the back entrance. We will back!

My main course which was a seafood pasta came out barely luke warm and when I told the waitress, she apologised and took it back to the kitchen to have it reheated. I specifically said that I'm happy if the kitchen just put it in the microwave to heat it up (I'm not a fussy customer, but would like to have my food hot).
When the dish came back out the second time, there was genuinely no difference to the temperature. Being British I just ate the food as by this point my guests were already halfway through their main and I was only just starting!
After I've finished the meal, I went up to the same waitress and left her my feedback regarding the dish. She was very apologetic and asked if I wanted to speak to the manager. I didn't want to get anyone into trouble so I kindly declined the offer.
When it came to dessert time, I fancied having their special G&T whilst my guests had something sweet.
When the drink was delivered, the same waitress said to me that she's told her manager of my experience, she apologised again and said that the G&T was complimentary, as a way of saying sorry.
I was pleasantly surprised that they actually did something to rectify this.
I thanked her and the manager before I've left and felt a lot better, not because of the complimentary drink but because they acknowledged the issue and found a happy medium to move on from the situation.
Overall, it started weak and disappointing but the evening was saved by the floor staff taking their initiatives and tried their best to make things right.
Hopefully next time my pasta will be steaming hot, especially with the weather changing now!

Lovely atmosphere with friendly helpful staff, great food and service with very reasonable prices. Overall a very good experience that I'll gladly return and recommend.
What's more is, that even though they were short staffed, they carried on with smiley faces giving great service. 😍👌
Delicious meal, service was quite slow but they were busy. We did have about a 30min wait before we were asked what we wanted for dessert but got there in the end. The chef seems to talk to the staff quite snotty and that was a bit uncomfortable to watch whilst waiting for food. The food was very tasty though, adding truffle oil to the mushroom pizza I would defo recommend.
Fantastic somehow managed to book a table for the next evening on the spur of the moment , all four of us were very happy with our meals ! Wonderful restaurant and super fast service !
Lovely Italian restaurant, we had pizzas, one gluten-free both were great. Space out the front to sit as well as inside, we started outside for a drink then headed in for our meal. Reasonably priced.
I adore Lucca, come many times a year but it seems when you come outside of normal lunch & dinner hours the service seems to drop. It took a while for our drinks order to be taken & then for the drinks to arrive before our food order being taken. It was a really hot day & we were so thirsty. The food is top quality, no doubt about that, and it came out quickly.
We were sat downstairs & could overhear the staff chatting about how slow the day was going & orders being thrown around to do things, they just seemed a little drained & made for an uncomfortable atmosphere. Weirdly when it's busy the standards improve.
Not sure why the olive oil has been taken off the tables as it was nice to use with the pizza crusts.
Lovely place with great service. They also offer vegan mozzarella and gluten free bases which is great for my fussy tummy. Really nice setting too.
