FABULOUS!!
We tried the iconic French toast, Egg sandwich and hash browns with a refreshing iced watermelon tea. We enjoyed each and every bite. Service and ambience were phenomenal. We were fortunate to get in without waiting, otherwise expect a long queue. Will visit again.
If you are around the city centre and craving for some amazing French toast, sandwich , donuts and cookies , this is the place.
Make sure to have some buffer time when coming in here on weekends , since they have a long queue to get in.
Their French toast is absolutely loves and their sandwich is top notch.
The toasted bread is perfect, and the gooey egg stuffed between the bread is nothing short of an art exploding in your mouth , and making merry in your tummy.
Nice little cafe that will satisfy your craving for breakfast. I tried their Gooey French Toast and it was massive, delicious, intimidating, and very very satisfying. The French toast will fill you up, and the sweet and salty contrast is such a treat for your mouth. We tried their bacon, and it is some of the best bacon I have had in a long time,, we thing the bacon is beef. We tried their dark chocolate cookie and it was soft on the inside, very good. Place is pretty busy and has seating for about 30 people, but people rotate quickly in and out of the cafe. Takeaway is an option. There are 2 toilets for customer use. Water station and high chairs available. Service is quick. Come here for amazing bacon and French toast!
Food was good, we had French toast which was delicious, hash browns was good and the egg sandwich which was average. We also had their donuts and cookies for takeaway which was good and kids enjoyed them on our long way back. Customer service was okay and we had to wait for 30 minutes for a table.
Interesting place to have a breakfast or a brunch. They have great pastries and interesting options about hot drinks while prices are little high (easy between 7-12£ per head) and started to be more popular in the last week's, still be a good option to visit in Manchester.
Their waiters are really kind and the place is big and not really noisy.
Excellent spot for desserts or breakfast food. Didn’t have the chicken or I but my friend had it and said it was great. Sauce was maybe a hint sweet. Bacon and egg sandwich was great, and decent value. Coffee is good and the cookies were amazing, though hefty and very sweet.
That was stunning. The French toast so soft, creamy, with a caramel centre and drenched in butter and sweet syrup, never had anything like it before.
The Reuben sandwich is beautiful - perfect blend of meat and sauerkraut, so well done. Will be back for sure.
First time at Gooey bakery and it was unbelievable!
The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, alongside a good variety of pastries to choose from.
The crispy hash browns were perfectly crunchy on the outside and fluffy inside, and the Swiss roll was perfect. The custard inside was creamy and sweet, and of course the friendly staff and cozy atmosphere made the experience even better. I can't wait to return for more delicious treats!
This is now the best French toast I've ever had! Yeap. I finally tried @gooeyco and it was totally worth the hype.
Amazingly, they also do a halal pastrami sandwich which was incredible.
This is a must try when in Manchester, I was blown away by both of these!
WOW! when i say they absolutely smashed everything i mean it!! i had the iconic french toast (which was so delicious, and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside), it didn’t taste overly buttery or overly sweet. i liked pairing it with an unsweetened matcha latte (which was sO good btw), and i also got some jam doughnuts and a double choc cookie for the evening. they were sO delicious and freshly baked!! also the smell when you walk in is heavenly because of the freshly baked goods!! deffo recommend
Had the best mushroom toast in Manchester! Fluffy bread, savoury, earthy 👍🏻👍🏻 love the french toast as well, the sweetness and savouriness soo balance. Definitely come back here when I go to Manchester in the future.
A 20-30 minute wait when you’re already a bit hungover and decaffeinated might not seem like the wisest choice when you’re stuck in the ever-present queue for Gooey.
I’m glad I waited. The French toast was the best I’ve had in my life. The perfect balance of savoury and sweet. The coffee was good but not amazing, but that’s not what I came here for so doesn’t really factor into my 5 star decision. Thoroughly recommend!
I have tried most of the menu already!
The egg sandwich is 💯
The Gooey french toast is simply made with butter and caramel but it is more than perfect for me!
The Raspberry doughnut and cinnamon rolls are so good!!
Recommend for setting and takeaways as well!
Had an amazing egg sandwich and french toast here. A really solid brunch option. I'd say the french toast was mind-blowing with the first bite but got a bit sickly half way through. Maybe they can dial down the sugar a tad?
The only thing I am disappointed about is that I can't give this place a 10000 star review, because I definitely would.
We came here for the French toast, thanks to Tiktok, again.
We had the French toast, iced strawberry and vanilla matcha latte and the caramelised white chocolate mocha.
The drinks were delicious, that should have been the first sign that we were in serious trouble here. You have completely sold me on matcha lattes but only this one. The iced strawberries were such a nice addition to the drink giving it this lovely sharpness.
When I say that silence descended on our table when we took our first bite of the French toast, I promise I am not exaggerating. I got actual goose bumps. Value for money. I could barely finish the blasted thing but at the same time I would have happily eaten about 20 of them. I will forever by drawn to Manchester just so I can come and eat here.
We obviously had to get some stuff to take home. So we bought the cinnamon rolls for the kids which I unfortunately won't be able to taste 😭. We also got two guest sandwiches, the classic reuben and the chicken one.
As I am already stuffed from the French toast I only took one bite of the chicken one so far but OMG. What is that sauce? What type of witchery is this? I'm risking some serious food coma here but I cannot wait to eat the classic reuben.
Honestly by far the best place I've visited so far. Please for the love of all that's Holy, do not ever close, you will break my heart.
Also the service was amazing. Everyone was welcoming and greeted us with big smiles. I've got nothing to fault here. Absolutely nothing. Keep up the fantastic work guys, you have something special here.
One of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. We’ve had the egg sandwiches, some hash browns and donuts and they were amazing. Definitely try the watermelon ice tea as well! Would highly recommend and we will be definitely back next time we’re in Manchester again :)
We had a lovely brunch here. The staff were helpful friendly and attentive, and the food is next level. Their bacon and egg sandwich with their house made brown sauce has now ruined all other bacon sandwiches for me. I challenge anyone to find better elsewhere 😉 I can't wait to go back again and try some/all of their other Sandwiches and baked goods.
Unreal food!! I’d recommend sharing the French toast & a sandwich because the French toast is quite sickly when you eat a whole one but WOW! We are from Glasgow, and when we are next in Manchester we will be coming back here.
The coffee for me was a little bitter, maybe one of those odd rubbish ones as everyone raves about the coffee.
Food here was delicious! We were seated immediately by a very pleasant member of staff. Service was very fast. I had a doughnut which was clearly freshly made and tasty (although there were not many exciting choices in comparison to other doughnuts I have had in other locations) and my friend had an incredible bacon and egg sandwich made with thick brioche style bread and thick maple bacon. The coffee was also very good. Prices were pretty reasonable.
