Amazing experience at Gaijin. Visited from Huddersfield and was amazed by the food and service. We were greeted by the owner/chef and he not only took the time out to talk about the menu and suggestions for what to order he also talked about why he is where he is today. That level care or love showed in the food. The honey chilli wings and dynamite prawns were excellent and should be on the menu full time as I will be back for more. None of that commercial dynamite sauce people are trying to claim is dynamite. Thank you for the food and service we will be seeing you again soon

Had a really great time at Gaijin Dumpling House🩷! The owner is from Hong Kong. He greeted us with a warm smile and made sure we felt welcome throughout our visit. The food was a delight! We ordered a mix of dishes: the Lamb on Crack, the Pan Fried Chicken Dumplings, the Typhoon Shelter Fried Squid, and the Steamed Chicken and Prawn Wonton. The speed at which the food arrived at our table was impressive – no long waits here! As for the taste, they absolutely nailed it. Each dish was seasoned to perfection, and you could tell that they put a lot of thought into their flavors. All the dishes they serve are Halal. It's clear that they're considerate of diverse tastes and needs. Overall, I can't wait to go back and try more dishes from their menu. The experience was fantastic. If you're in the mood for some seriously good dumplings and a welcoming atmosphere, Gaijin Dumpling House is the place to be.

This meal was simply incredible. Each item ordered was flavoursome, fresh and delicious. This fully halal dumpling house was definitely one on my bucket list. Only down side is the seating and space is extremely limited and tight!

A Culinary Delight in a Cozy Dumpling Haven! If there's one word to describe my recent visit to the charming little dumpling house I've been yearning to try, it's simply - enchanting. This hidden gem has been on my list for some time, and yesterday, I finally had the pleasure of dining there. The experience was nothing short of extraordinary, leaving me with a taste of perfection that I couldn't resist bringing home. Nestled in a quaint corner of the city, this dumpling house exudes warmth and coziness from the moment you step through the door. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the Chef’s special Nasi Goreng and the delectable dumplings which were served as soon as I ordered. The Nasi Goreng was a revelation of flavors - every bite was an exquisite combination of sweet, savory, and just the right amount of spice. It left my taste buds dancing with joy, and I couldn't resist the temptation to order a take-out portion to enjoy at home later with a friend. The portion size was generous, ensuring that my craving for this delectable dish would be satisfied more than once. The dumplings were a revelation in themselves. The delicate folds of perfectly steamed dumpling wrappers concealed the most mouthwatering filling. The skill and passion that went into crafting the food served was evident in every mouthful. The service was impeccable, with the staff's friendly and attentive demeanor enhancing the overall experience ensuring that every aspect of my visit was as delightful as the food itself. This cozy little dumpling house is a place where comfort, flavor, and a welcoming atmosphere converge, creating a haven for food enthusiasts like myself. I cannot recommend it enough; it's a must-visit for anyone in search of an unforgettable dining experience. My review would be incomplete without mentioning the owner/chef of the place. I went in when the place was closed and he was kind enough to offer me a takeout ( I dined in later that evening instead ). He was very humble , kind and was clearly great at what he was doing ! If you appreciate fine food in a cozy setting, do yourself a favor and pay a visit to this hidden gem. You won't be disappointed. ( It’s cash only by the way ! Tesco’s free cash machine is 2 mins away . )

Went with a group of friends with varying tastes. Gotta say I didn't go with high expectations, even though I'd heard positive things about it. I'm not a big fan of ultra spicy food and when authentic cuisines are fused to a lesser effect. We loved all the dishes. I've been to many south Asian places as well as the countries (Malaysia/Singapore) and am familiar with the dishes and what they should be like. This place took some of the dishes to another level and that's great. Standouts for us were the Squid ( super quality and not rubbery), Mee Goreng katsu (chicken was superb), the Lamb on Crack (moist, succulent, not too greasy with a lovely 'cracking' top and the fries were done very well) and the steamed dumplings were jam packed full of flavour. We had the specials - dynamite shrimp was just OK as was the nasi goreng. Service was attentive and friendly, not too intrusive or neglecting. It's all halal. Kerching!

The food is excellent, everything is freshly made and full of flavour! The dumplings were really succulent and flavoursome. The dish which surprised me was the fried chicken bao buns; the sauce, crispy chicken and soft bao was a winning combination! 😍 The service was good, this is a small place not for large groups. Overall I enjoyed the experience and in particular the food! Everything is halal 💕

We visited on Saturday, greeted on arrival and made to feel very welcome! The food was delicious, we ordered dumplings, the chicken and prawn ones were out of this world! The flavour was intense, in a good way! The bao buns were simply delicious and the wings were mouth watering, juicy and succulent! I felt I was eating at a friends house, it was too cozy and intimate! My ten year old loved it so much too, and we just can.’t wait to go again! Amazing!

I had the pleasure of dining Gaijing the newly opened Japanese restaurant in Manchester, and it was truly a culinary delight. The owners, who bring their expertise from Japan and Hong Kong, have created a unique and authentic boutique eating place that stands out in the city. It's not just a restaurant; it's an experience. The highlight of our meal had to be the halal dumplings – a first in Manchester! The flavors were exquisite, and you could taste the authenticity in every bite. But that's not all; the prawn crackers were a revelation. Crispy, flavorful, and absolutely amazing, they set the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The ambiance, service, and, of course, the food all combined to make this restaurant a must-visit for anyone looking for an authentic and delicious Japanese dining experience. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu!

Instagram vs reality turned out to be quite different visually but the taste was still nice. We had 2 of the specials (duck bao & sriracha chicken pops), both should be on main menu! Would be great if they accepted card payments. Toilets are questionable…a napkin in a hole in the door in replacement of a handle?? Worth a try but won’t be rushing back.

Probably not your diet restaurant, but absolutely delicious. the Mr Miyagi bao 'batterred chicken was very delicate, crispy with a thin crust - and the whole thing was really well balanced (it's a big bao, by the way). The chicken and prawn dumplings were very tasty, and the skin was superbly thin and tasted very fresh, The squid was super tender. I don't think the menu describes how good the dishes are. The dishes are well crafted and way more delicate than you'd expect, plus the fusion work a treat. A very satisfying meal - but be warned, the portions are quite big. So, it's great if you are a big eater, but great too if you are not because you can share. The staff is very welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. the restaurant is rather small, so make sure you book to avoid disappointment. I loved the atmosphere a bit subdued, with a brick wall and mural. Very comfortable and relaxed. I really loved the experience - I can't fault anything. That's a big yessss! From me. I also had a take-out the previous day - very fast and efficient

Fab and yum food! Owner of this restaurant was raised in Hong Kong, it was really amazed that he heard Cantonese in the kitchen then came out with a Hi as well as treat us with a can of drinks. I’m gonna introduce this restaurant to our Hong Kong community Facebook page. Thank you Tofiq ;)

Not a great fan of this kind of food but the kids love it and they convinced me to visit - I have to also admit that I have been reading good things about this place on facegram and instabook - a joke btw , anyhow back to the review . Small and intimate place and weirdly it does have a feel of an Asian eating place , my vision of such a place anyways . Firstly warm welcome and the guy who served us was top notch. He took our whole menu without writing anything down or getting anything incorrect and trust me we ordered a lot . The dumplings , wontons, squid for starters were absolutely superb . The portions were big and each plate would easily do for 2 people . Great flavours, textures and presentation and each morsel was savoured and each dish dutifully demolished. Onto the mains ... Why I decided to visit is that I have never had a bao bun , halal one . So we ordered the katsu curry , ribs and the bao buns ( 2 per portion ) . This is where it loses a few marks . Needed more sauce with the katsu curry but it tasted good . The ribs , in my opinion were too dry and needed to be saucy and sticky as opposed to dry , needs balancing . The bao buns ....delish . My mouth is salivating just at the memory of eating them . Soft buns , nice filling and sauce and they just hit the spot , loved them . Prices are decent, portions are big and the service was impeccable. When up that way , I shall definitely be visiting again for a mountain of bao buns and dumplings, yum yum.

Was craving for some dumplings while I was in Manchester and I saw this resto in tiktok! The service is excellent! The waiter will ask you if you want to know what are their crowd favorites / best sellers. So we got the fried squid for appetizer, it was so good! Its not overcooked. It was very chewy! And then we ordered the mee goreng its my fav! Also fro the dumplings we tried the pan fried and the prawn wonton.. I love the prawn wonton. They even gave us free drink because we were their first customer that day. They’re very nice and warm. But the resto is small, so be there early. Overall experience 9/10 but food is 11/10

Staff member really welcoming and nice, aot of variety. Food is fresh and delicious. However, considering it's a "dumpling" place there's only 3 types of dumpling you can get. There are many food dishes to try, all lovely, a bit overpriced for the portion size, so I would come here on occasions. Nevertheless it's definitely worth checking out at least once because it's all halal, and many different dishes to try that are hard to find in Manchester!! Thanks!
