This is one of my fav spots on deansgate. Most of their menu is gluten free and it's all fried with gf flour in a specific fryer! So impressed by the prawns dish, mushroom dish (my fav) and the steak! Couldn't recommend this more. The live music on Thursday was great. It's a great stop in deansgate before heading to the clubs.

A nice, new, fancy place has opened up in Manchester and it goes by the name of @renditionmcr With a concept of providing 100% British food for the modern ages, you know you’re in for the good stuff
Our favourite bit was the ending of the Rendition Baked Hot Chocolate Fondant, Candied Walnut Crackers (£9) - ohhh the melt in your mouth, inhale it all kinda dessert
To begin, we had the North Yorkshire Potato Croquettes & Tomato Jam (£6). We were intrigued as to how this can be made fancy and it turns out, it can. Creamy, cheesy potato croquettes with a sweet, tomato chutney
We then moved on to the Heirloom Beetroots, Smoked Cheshire Cheese, Linseed Crackers (£9), which gave us a slight smoky bit to balance out the creamy cheese giving us a nice little starter to the meal
Moving onto Mains of Roast Stone Bass, Fennel, Spring Onion, Summer Pea Vinaigrette (£20) and Homity Pie, Lancashire Cheese, Caramelised Onion & Potato (£17). The fish is usually cooked in white wine, so ask to change to a different base if that doesn’t work for your diet. The chargrilled asparagus on with the good old hearty pie were lovely

My friend and I came here for a post-Pride march lunch. Although we may not have been the most appropriately dressed, we were the only ones in, and our chatty server didn’t seem to mind in the slightest!
We had the 2 Course for £20 Lunch menu, both opting for the same: to start, the Chicken Liver Parfait (with fig jam and toasted brioche) which was, in a word, delectable. For mains, we had the Goosnargh Chicken Breast (with BBQ aubergine, broad bean and crispy potato dumpling). Succulent, pure white and full flavoured, the chicken was some of the best I’ve ever had. The vegetables it was paired with were all delicious, too. This was such an enjoyable meal that my mouth is literally watering and stomach grumbling almost 5 months after having it.
They’re now doing a 50% off in January offer, so I implore you to go and have a meal there. Five-star food.

We came in on a Thursday night. Great atmosphere, staff were really friendly and 2 for 1 cocktails were immense! Try the Big Smoke you won't regret it.

Loved this place, cocktails were amazing and the bar staff were really nice. This place really stood out for me, I can't wait to come back here soon.

Cocktails were fab and could compete with the big cocktail bars in town. Food was spot on too with some lovely tapas sized plates. Up and coming place, wasn't that busy, which was nice, but feel it will be soon. Prices were great too and felt like a bargain.

Good strong cocktails with a bit of flair. Nice enough venue with some good music playing. You would have got the extra star if you'd let us dance a bit 😜

This was our first visit here and we weren't disappointed.
We booked for Sunday afternoon, it was pretty quiet, I think it may be a more Friday/Saturday night place were it gets lively!
The food was amazing. My friend and myself both had the chicken liver parfait to start....beautiful.
For main courses, I had the roast beef Sunday dinner this was just wonderful, my friend had the homity pie which she said was very tasty.
Highly recommended.

We visited early on a Friday, without a reservation anywhere, and it was really empty here - so much so that I didn't want to go although we didn't have a res elsewhere.... I'm glad we did go in though.
I'll try my best with a thorough review because I think they really deserve it.
The food here was really, really good, I was totally surprised.
Upstairs is a bar, quite a nice looking cocktail bar, and downstairs is a restaurant. Decor is kind of 1920s/USA/prohibition kind of vibes. Cocktails looked good, although my wife & I weren't drinking. Wait staff were really nice, genuinely warm, and unpretentious.
To eat we didn't have great expectations to be honest, because it was a little empty and we'd never heard of the place, so we kept it simple - some bread, olives, croquettes, and for mains we had the lamb and a steak.
The lamb was just incredible, cooked perfectly, the sauces and garnishes were spot on, and you could really tell the kitchen knew what they were doing. The steak again was cooked perfectly, just absolutely top quality, and really what you'd expect at a steak specialist. We had thought about going to Hawksmoor this evening - it's a reliable chain, and you expect a good bit of meat, but I'm so glad we didn't and we found this place. Dessert was a chocolate fondant, and lemon pie. You can't really go wrong with a little chocolate fondant cake but - it was super rich, well sized, and nicely presented.
That's my best go at a food review.
4* only because it was a bit empty and therefore lacking atmosphere. However, I can't imagine that'll be the case for long. Transplant this restaurant to a trendy neighbourhood in London and it'll be mobbed.

Dinner and drinks with friends. The food was outstanding; well presented and tasted delicious. Accommodated my wife’s food intolerance with no push back on choice of menu, which is very rare. Staff were attentive and the music was perfect for a Friday night! Highly recommended!

Had a great evening out here. Dinner looked and tasted gourgous. The cocktails were amazing, and the atmosphere was relaxed with really stylish surroundings. The staff were well presented, welcoming and provided excellent service. Can't recommend enough, will definitely return.

And the cocktails were very well crafted, very tasty.

Rendition is one of the top places I have ever eaten in Manchester. I highly recommend at least one visit to everyone who comes into the city, because if you have one, you'll definitely come back for more! We had an amazing waitress called Ellie, who made sure we had the best experiences, noticing when our drinks were empty and was great at recommend both more food and drink. A 5 star place in a great location!

Amazing experience from start to finish. The cocktails were out of this world. We shared the oysters which were amazing and i had the beef & oxtail which was the best i have ever had. Great vibes in the bar also. Will definitely be returning.
