Lovely place, had the vegetarian Sunday dinner and my boyfriend had the meat Sunday dinner. They didn't have the cauliflower for the roast so instead they served some sweet potatoes and bean patty, it was delishous I was quite glad they didn't have the cauliflower in the end. They served a free cauliflower cheese to us which was a nice surprise and the portions were good in size, left very full and happy
Love it! Been here a few times and it's always been a great experience. Food is delicious and steaks cooked to perfection. Selection of sides are fab and go perfectly with the steaks. They were also running the "steak night" deal which is amazing value.
They also have a really good selection of drinks and cocktails. Will definitely be returning many more times. I would highly recommend a visit.
Amazing service, chilled vibe, excellent food.
This place is perfect for a chilled evening where you can chat with friends and enjoy some great food. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that it's the best steak in Manchester.
I went with the 10 ounce rump steak with triple cooked chips and tenderstem broccoli in hazelnut oil. However, part of me wishes that I'd gone with the macaroni cheese as well.
The food was delicious. We came here for my partner's birthday dinner. He really enjoyed his steak and said it was very well prepared and tender!
I didn't expect there to be much choice for a vegetarian - it is a steak place after all. So, I was very happy with the leek and potato soup and the miso cauliflower main. They tasted great! I had to take one star off though as I think charging £14 for some cauliflower as a main on its own is slightly overpriced - I would expect the sides to be included in the price in this case.
The service was good.
Overall, it is the perfect place for meat lovers, great value for money!
Not the best in the city but still worth going. The potato soup is very good, one of the best across the city. But the steak is a little bit too dry on the 30 days dry aged one. And personally I would recommend the restaurant to serve the salt separately instead of on the same plate. The decoration is nice.
Really enjoyed our trip to Herd. More of a bar setting than a restaurant but very friendly staff made us feel right at home. The cocktails were fantastic.
Food was good, reasonably priced for steak (chateaubriand, creamed spinach, broccoli, mushroom and chips were all good).
I would recommend the place but probably more for the drinks and the service than the food. Well worth a visit!
Two roasts for £25, cannot beat it! Tasted so good, especially the greens! Meat was cooked to my liking and gravy was full of flavour. Cannot complain. 👌🏻
Gin bar, a jewel in Manchester, full of character and ...gin. lovely atmosphere and great character. Signature cocktail and wide gin verity. Food was excellent, comforting, delicious and generous. Great friendly and warm service, fairly priced

The front of house staff were great, really lovely and welcoming. The herd lager was nice and crisp, if I ended the meal after having the burrata I'd give 5 stars as that was amazing but the steak was a bit underwhelming and underseasoned. The bone marrow butter didn't taste of anything and the coleslaw was similarly underwhelming.

We went to this place trying to look for a new place for valentines dinner. I have been living more than a year in Manchester and I had never heard about it. But no regrets at all, service and food was top notch. They had 2 options either the valentines or the normal menu. Our food was amazing, specially the mac n cheese sooo good. I would recommend it if you want to try an excellent piece of meat with super tasty sides
