Brilliant music venue tucked away in the basement of a fabulous hidden pub. The sound is great as is the atmosphere. Really like the added touch of selling local bands' music in the bar area. It is especially nice to peruse some vinyl while supping a Guinness. The bar staff are really nice too, and one or two are musically gifted. Look forward to the rest of the Manchester Meltdown music series on Wednesdays in Jan (2018) and returning for a pint or two there after.

Awesome new venue. Great size for smaller gigs, sound engineer made it sound brilliant, cheap venue hire for city center, very cool place to hang out and watch bands.

Top place, super sound system - could do with those monster speakers in my living room so if they go missing you know where to look! Great bar too!

Like the good old Northern Quarter venues before the NQ turned into a tourist trap. Good ale, friendly vibe, excellent live venue and NO stag/hen dos.

Nice pub. Good selection of drinks at a reasonable price. Cheerful staff. Toilets on the ground floor. Interesting graffiti on the toilet walls 😃 Will definitely visit again.

A cool little bar that you could miss if you weren't looking for it. We stumbled into it when we heard the live music. Place has old furniture, curtains up to hide the light, a alternative feel with loads of posters and drawing. They had some decent beers and prices were pretty reasonable. Seems they do have some dance nights too which look like they would be fun.

Best bar in Northern Quarter if you want to get away from the bore of the norm. Also do great live music nights in the venue downstairs!

Great pub. If you dont know its here then you wouldnt just stumble across it. I loved it. Good beer and friendly staff. Only reason i discovered the pub is because there is 2 venues attached and owned by it. One in cellar and one in attick. Deffo be back.

Amazing old rocker bar in the heart of the Northern Quarter. An authentic down to earth bar with a great selection of beers and food. Lots of great veggie options too 🌱

Nick from The Peer Hat's team kindly refunded me the money I spent on a ticket for an event which got postponed. He did it for me on the rescheduled day.

Rough and ready (quirky). Quite small as a music venue, but actually, perfect for the local music scene.

I visited The Peer Hat this weekend to see The Look Back Bores playing in the underground venue. I had the Squark pale ale beer at under a fiver a pint. There was a good selection of beers available.Payment was by cash or card. Plenty of staff serving at the small bar and so little waiting time. The venue was ideal for the number of attendees. The pub is off the main roads in the Manchester Northern Quarter and so was not packed unlike some bars we passed.

Really quirky fun bar, good music, could almost be described as a "dive bar" but for NQ standards. Prices are good, atmosphere is great.

Good atmosphere and bar. Hosts an eclectic mix of events, including live music, comedy, spoken word, and more. Slightly off the beaten track, this is the Northern Quarter's hidden independent gem.
