I finally made a trip to the Northern Quarter based brunch hotspot, taking advantage of the eat out to help out scheme. I fancied something for breakfast that was healthier than my usual choices when I eat out. I went for this as I've had whipped feta before and it is delicious both in flavour and texture. The addition of white beetroot amongst the purples was great as it had a subtle sweetness. The Sourdough toast was absolutely bang on.
I washed at his down with a mixed berry, banana and almond smoothie. I liked Seed and Cherry. It was relaxed, covid measures were in place and the staff were friendly. I'd definitely head back
Have a little bit of everything (& not break the bank) at Seed & Cherry
Walk into the no-fuss venue of Seed & Cherry that is nice & airy, and you know you’re ready for a relaxed dining experience making it perfect for the brunch we were invited to eat. Situated just off the rush of the city centre, it’s a perfect place for those who like to have a bit of everything. The food comes out as it’s ready so let the staff know (or order in two batches), if you want to give yourself a course-like meal.
For savoury, we had;
Halloumi Skewers [£4.90] - The pesto was divine, it was cooked perfectly and it was the right amount, for that little bite to satisfy the halloumi craving
Avocado & Egg (with Seed & Cherry’s buttered rye bread) [£4.90] - A lovely, lime hit on the avocado with a single poached egg. The bread wasn’t too crusty making it an easy dish to eat and it’s definitely worth the money (compared to other brunch places that charge double the price for just a little bigger portion)
Turkish Eggs [£4.90] - Spiced yoghurt that complemented the poached eggs really well. The toast was good and we probably would have preferred more toast to soak up the yoghurt
For sweet, we had;
Brioche French Toast [£4.40] - Oh, so yummy and it’s the perfect size for that sweet touch without filling you up to that you get drowsy. The mixed berries sweetened the dish nicely
Vegan Pancakes [£4.20] - The initial batch came out a little burnt, which totally messed with our mouths :( but we informed the staff and a new batch came out for us. The new batch were really nice and fluffy, and was scoffed down very quickly
For drinks, we had;
Latte (Speciality Beans) [£3.10] - It’s so cute with the clip telling you which blend you have. The signature blend was a good blend of Brazil & some others that we’ve forgotten and was creamily smooth, just the way it should be
English Breakfast Tea [£2.60] - A little pricey for a normal tea but nothing wrong with the taste at all
We’re likely going to be making another appearance when we want that snack to keep us going!

I have been to nearly every brunch spot in Manchester so I was SO happy to finally see a place doing something different! This 'tapas' style brunch is perfect for me as I love having something savory and then something sweet. I went for the Turkish Eggs & French Toast and both were outstanding. My friend got the vegan breakfast + the Acai bowl and said it was better than she'd had in Bali!
I was thoroughly impressed with the food, loved my almond milk latte and I can't wait to back to try the salads. It's so nice to see a place that has so much vegetarian and vegan options too. I shall be back!
The staff were so friendly and welcoming! The setting had a great atmosphere and we didn't need to wait to order breakfast.
Definitely need to go back and order more off their menu.
Delicious vegan food and great service as always. Lovely selection of coffees and other beverages, and happy to help if you're struggling what to order. Recently they have implemented a system so you can book your food via an app to minimise contact, which was really easy and straightforward to do. Happily returning again :)
Great little coffee shop. Thier food menu is exceptional too. Well worth visiting if you are in the area.
Lovely concept with the smaller 'tapas' style plates giving each person the opportunity to taste more than one dish. I must say, the porridge is out of this world! Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff
Stand-out coffee place in the Northern Quarters with great staff, excellent coffee and delicious food. Great Interior. And relaxed environment.
Simply best place to taste a real taste of espresso, have well prepared food, and can do some work on your laptop. What else do you need? I love it here.
The food is healthy, delicious and reasonably priced. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. I would definitely return!
Had a coffee in this gorgeous hangout last Friday. The owner is a lovely man and his premises are first class. I particularly enjoyed re- reading a copy of the rules. Time just slips away in here. The best bit for me though, was the wicked trip hop playlist and The Doors.
Food:
THE best pancakes I’ve ever had! I’m not even vegan but the pancake this place sells exceeded my expectation. And the coffee experience is really unique because you get to choose your coffee beans... they had a range of Brazilian, Ethiopian, Costa Rica and others. And for the first time ever, I never added sugar to my coffee because it had this creamy mildly sweet you can barely taste but perfect enough to not want to add more (imo) — so, so good!
Staff:
I take my customer service experience quite seriously.
The staff at seed & cherry were so lovely, very welcoming and extremely friendly. I actually appreciated it. The guy with glasses, fairly young looking, who served us yesterday was so kind and genuine, and he was the one recommending the pancakes — thank you!
Experience:
Only gave this a 4 star rating because as someone who appreciates their “coffee shop environment,” the interior design is not where I’d find myself coming for when I want to feel “relaxed” and “comfortable”, but this doesn’t mean I wouldn’t be back for the amazing coffee and pancakes...
Thank you Seed & Cherry!
Went on opening day. Ordered the Turkish eggs with the Brazil coffee as a flat white. An exciting meal with a well crafted artisan coffee. Service was very pleasing and the baristas knew their stuff, even down to the temperature of the coffee.
Pleasing ambience appropriate to the northern quarter. Also enjoyed the vegan cherry cake. Lovely and rich and not overly sweet. Would recommend and have already made plans to come again. Well done seed and cherry :-)
Just went to Seed&Cherry for brunch and had a wonderful experience! Would definitely recommend giving this gem of a cafe a visit. It's not just the great coffee but the food, atmosphere and attention to detail. Loved the 'small plates' concept so had a chance to try out a few great dishes - French toast and vegan brekky were my favourite and ordered an El Salvador oat milk latte. Great place to bring friends and family, dates or even to hang out and work alone. Will def be coming back!
Great place! Lovely staff and coffee - I got the avocado & poached egg and the fries and both dishes delicious and full of flavour! Plus great atmosphere to do some work!
Don't be overwhelmed by the coffee choices - the staff were super helpful with choosing!
Absolutely LOVED my experience at Seed&Cherry! The lady on the bar (not sure of her name) was so attentive & helpful letting us try coffee before we picked it etc etc! My boyfriend & I love our coffee but always find that the shops with the best coffee have the snootiest staff, so to have good coffee & good staff was great! It was a really refreshing experience and the food was absolutely incredible, well worth 3 small plates for £12! We will 100% be back!
Best brunch in Manchester. Their tapas menu is genius. 3 dishes for around £12 and each dish tastes so fresh, like its been cooked for you there and then. So many places i've been for brunch but its really not anything special. Here you can really taste that they use high quality ingredients and everything is cooked fresh. Relaxed atmosphere, trendy, attentive staff. Also treated myself to a coffee.. wow. This is now my go to place. I hope they open more branches.
I generally exclusively consume kebabs, but fancied something lighter for breakfast this morning. Really enjoyed the more relaxed, contemporary coffee eatery vibe this place has to offer. Light menu with concise portions, and excellent coffee. Highly recommended.
Can't wait for this place to return.
Unfortunately Seed & Cherry has temporarily closed which is such a shame as it was my new favourite coffee/breakfast place in Manc. I hope management see this and make the decision to re-open sooner rather than later. We miss you and your amazing french toast!
