Last minute dash in after street food was closed. Tbh wasn't sure what to expect as v mixed reviews over the past few years but much better this year.

Whilst visiting Manchester we decided to go for a Chinese meal in China Town on a Thursday night.
We weren't really sure of what to expect, just walking past many places I saw the menu and it had a good selection of vegan options so decided to take the plunge and popped in.
The lady serving us was very friendly and opted for the chilli tofu with plain rice and my wife went for crispy aubergine.
The kids ordered chicken chow mein (standard).
It didn't take too long and became the highlight of my Manchester visit. Both the vegan dishes were sooo delicious I couldn't stop thinking about it days after ha.
Great place to eat in the center of manchester. .still opened after 10pm!! 😉
First meal in manchester cheap and cool don't flrget to order fried rice im sure you need it. Its super duper damn good
They can make a whole variety of vegetarian food that's not on the menu. Just ask. This dish is vegetarian charsui (honey pork) in OK sauce.
Lovely restaurant we ordered two starters prawn toast was amazing and tasted fresh. Then 3 mains prawns, chicken and beef noodles. All tasted lovely, egg fried rice was gorgeous. Only thing was the beer tasted flat and the coke. Will still go back thanks for having us
Underground restaurant in China town, staff was funny and extremely nice. Food came quickly, we ordered to share between everyone. The roasted duck off the bone was nice, mapo tofu was nice as well. Fried rice was nice and dry and not oily, good fish in soy sauce.
Enjoyed the food and it wasn't too packed.
Love the food. The staff are fantastic and helpful. I work in China town and would recommend China City to anyone.

Absolutely amazing experience here. The food was divine but the staff made the experience. They are so polite, kind and efficient. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Doesn't look like much from the front but get yourself down those stairs for a nice warm welcome and, value for money, Chinese food. Service was quick and the food......... well next time I'm back in Manchester I'll be having at least one evening meal here.
If you love Chinese then this is definitely worth a visit if in Manchester!
There's so many places to choose from, and also has Japanese and Thai restaurants too.
The one thing I was a little surprised at is how early they close on a Saturday evening.
One place turned us away at 9:30pm. Others closed between 10 and 10:30 (whereas others stay open until 1am!).
Great quality produce too (from my experience anyway).
Fast service, the food was delicious and reasonably priced. I had the salt and pepper squid which I would recommend. I eat it regularly and it's really good here. Also had vegetable stir fry which was also nicely done. I'd eat here again. The give you a hot towel at the end and some fruit to eat which is a really nice finishing touch.
Beautiful food , friendly attentive staff. We will definitely be going back. My daughter asked me if this could now be our 'go to' Chinese restaurant. I said absolutely
