I have always had a great time here - the staff are fantastic, there's a really friendly vibe and every time I've been it's been a great atmosphere. There's some great beers on tap (I usually go for the Galivantes Porter) and some seasonal/occasional special cocktails etc. The decor is really nicely done and feels really cozy. My friends have organised events here and the management is incredibly accomodating and will do everything possible to help personalise the occasion. The live music I've seen here has been great, too. It's really a bit special and has very quickly become a staple for my friendship group as the perfect place to hang/chill/eat/party. Did I mention that the food is delicious too?? A legendary Manchester institution in the making! I love it.

I'm here quite a lot - it's the local for a lot of my mates, and recently for me too. I'm actually really impressed with what they've done with the place. Soon as you walk in there's a lovely atmosphere whether it's busy or not. Decor and general vibe is great, drinks are great, the pizza's amazing, and if you go down most nights of the week there'll be something fun going on. The place has become quite the little community hub since it started and it keeps on getting better. :)
Students from the UoM held christmas party here, and they really made us feel welcome. The food was lovely and staff are so friendly! I'd definitely recommend for a nice gathering, or even just for a few drinks and food. Will be coming back soon!
A sublime pub, first class live music that only seems to get better and friendly stuff. The Abby has quickly become my favourite pub in Manchester! Plus fantastic pizza.

I love what they do. I have been to two workshops and also for drinks. The workshops were excellent (I ran one of them!) and the beer is great too. Not had food yet.
Really good party, lunch or drinks spot with friendly staff, good pizza and beers. Get yourself down there!
Top pub, sound people, proper community space
I had a night out at the Taphouse on Saturday and it was one of the best events I've been to this year. The bands were all good especially the duo with the flute and electronica. Get one of the pizzas to eat I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Friendly atmosphere and a pretty chilled clientele. Wish I was still living in Mancs as this would make an ideal local.

What a great little bijou bar in the middle of the science park! Characterful and comfy. Nice selection of beers and drinks, good food served, decent coffee machine etc. well worth nipping in.

We've lived five minutes away from this place for seven years (and been at uni around the corner for three years before that) but have somehow never heard of this place. The only reason we came across it is through a Facebook post about their e-bike sadly being stolen, which they were using for deliveries and community support work. As the owner of a socially conscious cargo bike-powered business myself, my interest was immediately piqued!
Then I investigated further and found that this place does fantastic burgers and pizzas, with the best selection of beer you'll find for miles around. They had opened the beer garden following the easing of covid restrictions, but were also doing deliveries and pick-up. My wife and I ordered a cheeseburger, pollo e pepe pizza and portion of chips to share, as well as a two-pint jug of fresh draught IPA. The food and beer was excellent, but what really impressed me was the friendly vibe of this place, that somehow has been hiding in plain sight since we came to Manchester.

Great pub. Excellent selection of rums, really great, knowledgeable staff. nice vibes, loads of outdoor seating under shelters and good tunes. Highly recommended.
A wonderful venue, with a stage in the beer garden. The food is phenomenal and inexpensive, with plenty of choice for veggies and vegans. The staff are very friendly. They have a great selection of beers and ciders, including IPAs
i love coming to the old abbey: good food, lovely bar staff (special mention to the person behind the bar who let me have a rollie), and great prices for all goods provided. the events they put on are always cracking and they're very community driven which i really appreciate :)
