29/07/23: our first time here with the wife and dog. Lived in Chorlton Green as a kid and only ever came much later in life. Great place, lovely front sun terrace, lots of space in the garden back. Good selection of craft ale. Dog friendly!
One of 4 long established bars on or near the Green. First visited back in 1975. Good real ale with choice of 6 on this visit. I had the Brightside Beech Inn Brew which was fine. Outside seating.
Serving the best Timmy Taylors' beers around, Boltmaker and Landlord. Never had a bad one.
Good selection of other beers too (if that's your thing).
Service is always great, sport on TV a bonus.
Even the odd legend pops in to review his performance (allegedly).
Really welcoming, dog-friendly pub with great balance between traditional and modern vibe. Good beer range on tap and on stick. Multiple bar areas including a dog-free, away from the TV spot if the footie isn't your thing. Nice big beer garden. Some pretty wild pizza concoctions.
Always a great place to meet and enjoy a few hours. Has a great buzz about it and when the weather is great it is filled to capacity with seating out front and a great beer garden out back. Also very dog friendly.
Amazing! Came in for a pint and stayed to watch the football. Grabbed a pepperoni pizza too, which was served very quickly. The bar staff were a good chat and were busy but still smiling. Loved my visit and will return
A lovely pub. I had never been in before but I will definitely be coming again. The drinks selection is amazing (especially the gin) and great beer garden! Vanessa was behind the bar and looked after us, all the staff were super friendly ☺️ we will be back!x
Lovely pub with really friendly, knowledgeable staff. Great range of drinks, particularly cask and craft beers. Beer garden is amazing too, even if it deserves to be in a slightly sunnier city!
I come here often and never had a bad pint. The cask ale selection is the best in the area and well kept by Vanessa and the rest of the staff. It is pricier than other pubs, but you can get a cask collector card stamped when you buy a pint and after 6 stamps you get a free pint so makes up for it.

Had a superb pizza at this fave establishment Pizza and pint 11.00 Lovely fresh pizza with an added extra of grilled chicken which hit the spot Great people that work here and lovely beer garden to boot!! Definitely recommend 5 ☆ 👍😁
