This place brings much happiness to my life. A true greasy spoon where bacon filth can be obtained in a cheap and cheerful fashion. It also has newspapers and is big enough to sit in. As with all cafes though prepare to smell of grease if you choose to dine in!
Great tip! If you order over £10 they will deliver for free. This is great to do from your office! I regular order from work and get it delivered.
What a cheeky find! A giant jacket potato, practically a full block of grated cheddar cheese and a river of baked beans, all for £3.10. Amazing! Only downside was that work felt like a huge chore for the rest of the afternoon. The menu looked like it had lots of great lunchtime bargains from soups & sandwiches to fish and chips so I will definitely be returning!
I'm just adding my stars here, there's nothing to add between what Tim O and Emma Louise M have said. This place does good bacon butties, at a cheap price, better than its local competition.
£3.95 for a full English breakfast with hot beverage and juice? It'd cost far more if I made that at home! Which makes me wonder... is Bowlers so lovely that it gets all its supplies for free? Or is there witchcraft afoot...
Who cares, as Angela and Alison have already said this is a lovely little place with possibly some of the cheapest and most honest food you're likely to find in the city and some very smart staff. A quaint and cute café with enough choice on the menu to baffle you even if you're craving one specific thing, and bespoke sandwiches mean you can get all the particular little condiments you love.
And speaking of cuteness and quirk, they have a sign up with forbids you from using mobile phones while you're at the counter dealing with staff. I believe this is genius! I haven't yet tried the food, but I ducked in here from the rain (surprise) for a much-needed coffee and I was a very happy bunny indeed. Very peaceful, and nice to see a proper down-to-earth café so central in Manc's premier tourist area.
Highly recommended, especially in the usually rather pricey Albert Square!
I was working on the Christmas market again today in Albert Square. It was teeming with people and I was so busy I only had 10 mins to get some quick lunch before I had to be back behind the stall. Luckily in these moments I can rely on Bowlers for fast, unfussy comfort food.
Where else in central Manchester can you get a bowl of soup, a sandwich and choice of tea of coffee for just £2.95? I defy you to find such a good deal! I plumped for just a jacket potato with cheese and salad which was only £2.90, and tasted oven-baked. I've heard the fish and chips here are pretty good too, at just £3.75.
The staff in here are very friendly and the decor itself feels very cosy - a great place to sit and people watch.
Welcoming and friendly cafe just off Albert Square in Manchester city centre.
My first choice for a tasty, filling, not too expensive fry up & cuppa.
Plenty else on the menu including baked potatoes and sandwiches.
Well worth a visit & it won't hit your pocket.
Excellent choice on the Menu. You get a Full Breakfast anytime of day for £3.95 including toast , drink and orange juice.
fast friendly service.
Sausage sarny £1
Bacon Sarny £1.20
good quality food at a low price.

Me and my work colleague come to Blowers every morning because the food is amazing and the staff are so friendly and welcoming I wouldn't go anywhere else 🙂
The Manager Argyro is soo lovely and welcoming , she always has a smile on her face and nothing is ever to much trouble, and the food is soo good that myself and my colleagues go back on a daily basis the adult fish finger sandwich is always sold out It’s that good

LOVE THE FOODS HERE!
I'd say this is the place for you to have a quick meal.
Affordable price & quick service.
We've been there couple times, never wait too long for our foods.
English breakfast was very basic but tasty (as you can see in the pic).
It's pitty there's kind of too many tables inside, and it's a bit crowded.
For few times, there's no space between my seat and another customer who sit behind our table (this is before covid, not sure how's it now).
Overall, they have homemade style foods (brunch) you can give them a try.
Nice price & quality.
Traditional cafe dining, unpretentious and a breath of fresh air after all the trendy places. Go here if you want an old fashioned English cafe experience. Gingham vinyl table clothes and everything is clean, nice and quiet.
Lunch time dining with partner. Lovely cup of tea, tea bag in cup style. Also had a bacon sandwich and an sfc wrap. Both nice but my heart was set on Mac'n Cheese :-(. Excellent value for money.
No customer toilets but there are facilities in the library.
Would recommend.
Amazing caffe full of energy, they also organise very cool events we will definitely come back. Thank you guys
Very nice atmosphere, very nice staff, great spot that’s lowkey
Great food and service. Staff friendly and tasty lunch.
A really good bacon butty even through their renovations.
Mixed in with all the big name chain coffee shops and restaurants, this little corner cafe has all the charm of a homely mom and pop eatery. Excellent cafe menu with the signature Bowlers beef, egg and mushroom sandwich. Great coffee. Friendly service. Refreshing low prices for a city centre cafe. Recommended.
Great food and friendly staff with reasonable prices.
A great place to meet in the shadow of Manchester Town Hall, and the newly restored Central Library. Basic, simple food really well presented. Ideal for Breakfast, sandwiches or a full lunch. It closes daily at 14.00 though, so get there early! The food is excellent. Very clean and recently remodeled. I have been here on numerous occasions over about 5 or 6 years. It never disappoints.
Nice place. Cheap prices, compared to else where. 5 pound for a full English. Ordered a brew and food. Brew was in a large mug, got brought to table by waitress. Service and food was fine, no dramas which other reviewers spoke of. No complaints from me.
Lovely little cafe, near convention centre. Good service from chatty waitress, lovely fish finger sandwich, hit the spot nicely
