I really like the grilled food option here. Seriously can anyone name a better place for Sheek Kebab on Naan on the Curry Mile in Rusholme other than Camel One?
Tawa for 2 was spot on, tasty foodđ. Just recommend Diners to bring their own drinks, we had paid ÂŁ5.40 for a glass bottle of Irn Bru.
Go to kebab shop in Manchester.
Dine in and all fresh food including home made sauces. Range of starters & curries look good and are popular, but I havenât tried personally.
Food and service can vary depending on what staff members are on in daytime.
Naan breads are as light as a feather and lamb tikka / donner mix was excellent on this visit.
Good value for money too. Would recommend.
Tasty food. Real taste like Lahori style, or Mian g Hasanabdal. I found this taste after 7 years. No sweet sauce in Karahi. Every thing ordered found tasty. Nice addition in my future list.
The red donner is quite nice, but the chilli sauce is bad. They literally just mix chilli powder with water and call it sauce
This unassuming takeaway consistenly provides the best chicken and seek kebab in the curry mile. I have been to some of high end restaurants and can honestly say the kebabs here are absolutely phenomenal. Whenever I am in Manchester I look foward to eating at this place. Resturants may not be decorated as nice as some of the others in the curry mile, however the culinary taste you experienced more than makes up for it. Highly recommended.
Fresh foods at reasonable prices, mutton karahi love it kind staff
A stop off before hitting the Trafford centre, decided to hit an old fav, these days I swerve and go rusholme chippy but fancied some Donner so here we are
Ps boss man is proper sound đđ»
Meat/Meats -
Donner:
Itâs the slightly red type but has a similar texture to mazaas, can seem dry but I think itâs because itâs quite meaty. I do order a bit of moisture there but not the stuff drowned in sauce to cover up the flavour. Tasty but had better
Chicken tikka:
proper tasty nice level of spices and flavour and cooked well with some charring, lovely
8/10
Bread - freshly made by boss mans assistant, however it was a bit thin and didnât have them charred fluffy pockets, all in all was a little small but still nice.
Could be better
7/10
Accompaniments (Salads & Sauces) -
Plenty of fresh salad choices to keep everyone happy, I liked they had the red pickled type onions but also raw red for crunchyness
The best thing was the pickled chillis, most places taste the same but here was really big and juicy...very nice
Sauces:
Chilli sauce was very potent the way I like it đ„ but it didnât have a lot of flavour to go with the heat
Yogurt sauce was nice but a bit runny in consistency
Sort that out and youâre on a winner
8/10
Value -
7.90 with a can of rubicon seemed steep tbh, should be a 5-6 quid effort
7/10
Eatability -
Because the yoghurt sauce was so runny, it ran out everywhere, however I do always smash the donner as a starter with the first lot of sauces then load it up again with the salad and more sauce roll it up and smash the chicken in naan...standard procedure
Iâm messy as, so I wonât be as harsh...but sort that yogurt sauce out boss man
8/10
Overall score- 38/50
Conclusion- decent, Iâm just stingy with the scores đ
Worth hitting and much better than some of the other places round here
Really great portion size for the shawarma! However, the wrap lacked toppings, they werenât very generous with the salad. Good chicken though and great value for money!!
The Camel Toe is a fine place to get a Chicken Donner. Where as other places have the right food colouring in place to make the Donner appealing to the eye, this place also gets the spice mix just right. The chicken Donner isn't dry and is juicy. I would recommend the Camel Toe and think it's great food to gobble down.
Decent tandoori meats and naan, not so good samosas. OK for a quick bite.
