I have to give this a 4 star just for their aloo ka paratha (Indian bread stuffed with potato and spices) topped with egg (optional) and served with raita (yoghurt).
Me and my wife had veg pakora and chilli with chutneys as side. It was the best ones I ever had from Manchester. As we both are foodies, we really like the taste of both and we ask for second shot but unfortunately the dish was finished which made us a bit sad. We wish for a desi chai with this which will make the meal complete. I really recommend this store. And the staff who was in this store treated us really well and I personally like the way he is to the customers. He even asked whether we need the dishes to be warmed or not. Thanks Ambala team for this wonderful time.
Mithai was good but the dahi with chatt wasn’t fresh. Left it completely.
The service at Ambala was exceptional, providing us with the opportunity to sample several small items before making a substantial purchase. The staff demonstrated excellent customer service, and the atmosphere of the place was pleasant and cozy. The sweets, particularly the barfi, were delightful. However, the only drawback was that the gulab jamun was unexpectedly hard and didn't meet my expectations. Apart from that, everything was wonderful.
The service is excellent. I had samosas today so fresh n super tasty. It stays fresh for quite sometime with the outer pasty so crunchy. I didn’t have this taste of samosa in while. I always enjoy their samosa chaat too, habshi halwa n Dahi bhalla. Thank you for the excellent service.
By far the best thing about Ambala is the Halwa/Chana Puri for 2 that costs only £5. Unlike a lot of other places, they make it daily so it's always available whenever it may take your fancy. For this, I fully recommend Ambala.
As for the actual mithai, it should be noted that it's not fried in ghee which does affect the taste somewhat, hence 4 stars.
Other than that, the seating area is clean, if a little on the small side. It's definitely best for groups of 2-3.
To conclude, if you want a traditional breakfast then you can't go wrong with the Halwa Puri. However if you want to buy mithai then I suggest walking down the road to Sanam, where they cook in proper ghee for a full, authentic taste.
I recently visited Ambala, and had a delightful experience. The staff was very helpful, guiding me through their wide selection of sweets. The sweets I tried were incredibly fresh, and the overall experience was great. I'll definitely be returning for more treats!
Home to Mithai. Best Mithai in the UK hands down. I have been eating Ambala for almost 2 Decades. I have been and tried everywhere nothing comes close. New fitting from when I last visited the Manchester branch great display/decor very fresh and great selection of sweets. Staff were friendly
Samosas are super tasty. And all the other sweets are tasty too. But do not eat chana chat, it was honestly waste of money for me.
Variety of options with good quality sweets and namkeen. Delivery via Uber eats doesn't help though. Strongly recommend Habshi halwa. Emarti and bondi laddus could taste better if it is made with pure ghee only.
Good place to buy South Asian sweets. Especially habshi halwa.
