Good atmosphere, slow service and a blend of ok and good food.
Their beef shawarma and burger smells a bit and chicken shawarma was like burned and old.
Although their burgers style is good.
Service is a bit slow (on average 30 minutes) although there were not many customers there.
Honestly one of the best Burger Joints in Manchester. I ordered a Double Fried Chicken Burger (Mighty Player). So flavourful and portion size was amazing. Anyone who likes fried chicken and isn't scared to eat a big burger should definitely try that one. I also ordered Wings which were well seasoned! Having a sweet tooth I also ordered a shake which to mention was massive! Can't fault this place one bit, amazing customer service with a unique atmosphere. Will be coming back for more!
Visited @players 📍 1 Portland St, Manchester M1 3BE .. small walk from Piccadilly train station and one minute from Piccadilly gardens in town centre, this place was not actually on my list to visit however I’m glad I did as did not disappoint and defo a shout in town.
I ordered the ‘Classic Player chicken Burger’ which has single crispy fresh fried chicken patty with lettuce, Mayo in a seeded bun (opted for spicy version of this) cost (£4.50) the burger was 10/10 and had a huge fillet! Defo a shout. No complaints with the food tasted amazing and came very quick too.
Negatives: although two anti bacterial wipes where provided the meal itself was pretty messy to eat and when I asked if they had tissues was told they had none :/ also the table I sat on had left over ice cream food on it which was not cleared… another thing I contacted them via their Instagram page to ask a question where I was left on read without being answered.
Great addition to the City Centre! So many eating places so this special dessert bar was much needed. Location is fantastic, ambience very American with diner seating as well as European with tables facing the street. Wide collection of Gelato's and Ice-creams and super-sized Sundaes. Service was a bit slow but expected as they were very busy. What we ordered was heavenly and put together nicely. Good taste and quality. Would definitely go again and recommend to anyone wishing to indulge!
First time at the place and didn't leave disappointed. Was Sunday night, didn't have to queue as it wasn't crowded at all.
Guy that arranged us the table was very courteous and explained everything thorough about the menu, everything else pretty standard, head to the till, order - pay - wait on the table.
Ordered a "Creams Rocher on Mine" and it was orgasmic delicious!

Building a better burger joint needs chicken wings.
Yes, honestly! Chicken wings.
Let’s rewind a bit.
Following on from the hipster burger revolution in late 2007, there’s been a evolution of Manchester’s high street fast food outlets doling out anonymous doners, nondescript bread with tomato and other toppings masquerading as pizza and accompanied by a stomach full of French fries.
While I can’t put a finger on it, there seems to be a Rusholme connection. Maybe because everything is halal, who knows. We had Archies on Oxford road taking the first steps to being Manchester’s own answer to 5 Guys (with 5 brothers?) and so in the same vein we seem to have Players.
For front of house, we have clean inviting decor. Staff is minimal because, you know, COVID. I like the nod to charging on the go with USB ports and sockets by the seating but you’re not bringing your laptop here to get smothered with sauce.
Taking a nosy, I can see some propah kit and ingredients. These folks are serious.
Now onto the burgers.
Bear in mind that the real bench mark for burgers should be the ones you whip up at home, using supermarket own brand stuff. It need not be Booth’s locally sourced stuff, I’ve been told that there are equally good offerings from Waitrose and Sainsbury’s too. By that yardstick the burger from Players is good. Not Almost Famous, Gourmet Burger Company (pink in the middle), SoLita awesome but good nonetheless. Believe it or not, I was impressed by the bread.
So where does the chicken come in.
As sides go, chicken wings are the middle child of fast food. Done properly there are few things on God’s Green earth more delectable than Chimaek. Yard and Peck and Mustard Diner down south do good versions but strangely it is the stuff I had at SoLita that still stirs my soul. The perfect combo of Gojugang and wings...
Where was I?
Oh, yes. Player’s chicken wings. They’re good too.
Not as amazing as the one’s I’ve mentioned but still nice.
All in all, stepping into their premises, you won’t be disappointed and will sense that they have potential to cook up something new. I can’t wait to find out what that will be.
Kelvin manager is very nice I had problems with the options, and he told me what to get. Best restaurant in piccadaly and very nice shop very clean
lovely customer service great food shoaib
Really love this place. Been here many time with my wife and daughter. Always a place to go after meal in town for a dessert. We stop having dessert in the restaurant now. We will go here after our meal. Service is good and the ice cream is delicious.
Is a special place where to go a very nice desserts. All look very nice and tasty, the flavour and texture is great. The place is big and have a lot of options, inclusive some more fitness.
The place is not low, normally each thing cost between 5-8£ but you are eating some special, so is normal. Personal is correct.
Great and tasty food! would recommend as the portion size is quite good. Lovely atmosphere.
Wifey for lifey brought me here for some indulgence. Really nice place, staff were amazing. Kelsey waited on us and was super cool! Waffles were good and there are so many combos of gelato and sorbets were gonna have to do it again!
