Been here for lunch twice and can't fault the food or staff. The menu is good value for money and the place was clean. Ordering via the app and at the till was easy. They were happy to make amendments to our order e.g. swapping chips for fries. Food only took 10/15 minutes after ordering to arrive. This place is dog friendly and broadcasts football matches.

I cannot speak more highly about the bar manager, who made us feel incredibly welcome on a very busy night. They were showing a local football team in an important match, so every screen was showing that but we wanted to watch another match. The amazing bar manager put the match on in another part of the bar for us! Just amazing service and I cannot thank her enough. 😁👍 The food wasn't great at all, sadly...but if you want friendly service and a good vibe, then I'd go here.

We held our son's Christening party here and it was perfect! (Christening was at St James' so only a 30 second walk!) Kelly and the team were very helpful and accommodating with our plans (including a tea and coffee urn) as well as providing a great space for our guests. The space is just off the main pub area and so the atmosphere was excellent! During the day Kelly was welcoming and we had a fab time - many guests also said the venue was great!

Lovely quaint pub. Had a nibble to eat and had a few pints. Spoke to staff who were great, especially Alice who was lovely and welcoming. She really made me appreciate the value of good customer service. Fab

A pub that has undergone many changes in nature, character and management. I have visited and been there thousands of times over the past 65 years! On my recent visit I notice it is in the hands of greeneking which brings rather a standardised approach to the beer and food but the quality is quite good. I ordered a mixed grill which came with a pineapple and fried egg - I really don't understand why pineapple is added to a meat dish. Unfortunately the egg was broken and before I had chance to grumble the waiter brought another one on a small side plate saying he thought it would be better as the egg served was of such poor quality - full marks for consideration. The meals were served fairly quickly but given the place was nearly empty that really should be the case (a 24 minute wait between order and service). The biggest down side is that they only have English mustard - can't pubs serving meat from the grill offer something a little more imaginative than tomato or brown sauce or yellow English mustard? The place overall was clean, neat and quiet. The outside garden/yard is well laid out and on a sunny day is a lovely relaxing place th eat. I recommend a visit and a sample of the menu - bon appetit! A drawback in that location is that parking is a major issue as they have no carpark so there is a need to park on the street and walk back to the pub.

I recently had my teams festive meal here, and can't recommend it highly enough. The food was very tasty, piping hot , and served in a timely manner. There is a good choice of drinks, alcoholic and non alcoholic. The staff are friendly , and always greet you with a smile. Thank you very much Caroline, Kelly, and all the team, for making organising a meal for 12 people, very successful and surprisingly stress free. Neil

Visited yesterday for the festive menu with a friend. The meal was delicious and a very reasonable price of £19.99 for 3 courses. We both had prawn cocktail, the Xmas dinner, then cheesecake for one of us and Xmas pudding for the other. Could not fault any of it, in fact we both thought it was the best turkey we have ever had! Very attentive staff and went out of their way to make sure we were alright and nothing was too much trouble for them. Special thanks to the General Manager, I think she was called Caroline and also to the lady serving drinks, Kellie. This was our second visit as we had previously been in and had a 3 course meal (again excellent food) for seniors and that was only £7.99! We are already planning our next visit!
