First time coming here for dinner and we came in as a group of 8. I was pleased to see dim sum was still around after 5pm but we mostly ordered main dishes. Decent portion at reasonable price since it's in Chinatown / city centre. Service was good and attentive considering it was quite busy at that time. Would come back again.
An authentic Chinese restaurant. I see there are a few 1* - 3* reviews regarding the service, but to put it mildly, authentic Chinese places often have very ‘straightforward’ service! I’d go as far as to say it’s a hallmark of a good place.
On the food - excellent dim sum, get there early if you want a char siu pastry, as they often sell out. Delicious seafood peppers too. All very good stuff, though I’ve never eaten anything but dim sum here as the portions are too large to have a few dishes between 2 people (as is standard at traditional Chinese places)
Love their dim sum and mixed roast, very authentic. Highly recommend Har Gow, char siu buns and sponge cake.
Congee with century egg is alright, portion is big but bland taste.
Pay cash if you can, because there'll be extra charge if you lay by card.
Food was great and good value for money. Staff were nice and helpful. Only one of the waiters was grumpy and impolite. Our main issue was that our bill was more that what it should have been. They either charged us more deliberately or there was an automatic service charge which we weren't told about.

Das Mei Dim liegt mitten in Manchesters Chinatown in einem souterrain Lokal. Innen fühlt es sich wie in einem Bienenstock an. Tische stehen dicht beieinander und die Bedienungen wuseln die ganze Zeit herum und bedienen die Gäste. Es gibt gefühlt keine Zuordnung von Tischen und Kellnern aber man bekommt seine Bestellungen immer sehr zeitig.
Das Essen ist wunderbar, wir haben uns auf die Dim Sum fokussiert und keine normalen Gerichte bestellt aber das, was ich auf den Tischen anderer Gäste gesehen habe sah alles sehr lecker aus.
Die Dim Sum sind der Wahnsinn, außerhalb Chinas habe ich noch nie so leckere Dim Sum gegessen. Es hat uns so gut geschmeckt, dass wir sogar ein zweites Mal hingegangen sind.

Busy Dim Sum restaurant with attentive staff. I went at lunch and opted for a lunchtime special for £9.80. With Jasmine tea, bill came to £10.80 all together. The three meat roast with rice came with some Chinese leave and sauce, was delicious. Will be back!

Not just the best dim sum in Manchester, it’s the best dim sum in whole of UK. As a dim sum lover, I have been spending my whole life eating dim sum and compared price and quality in UK 😄
My dad is a regular customer here. He comes at least every other day for lunch. All the staff know him and the waiter helps him up and down the small flight of stairs and helps him get seated. They even know his order! I came with him on Xmas eve and asked for a vegetarian tofu dish as I explained to him that I cannot eat Pork and non halal meat. The waiter asked the kitchen to prepare a tofu dish without meat for me. I was grateful that it was prepared at my request.
Nice steamed custard buns and prawn steamed buns for starter. They were the highlight of my meal, freshly made and very nice, highly recommend. They were on the Chinese menu not the English menu.
The mains were also nice barbecue duck with rice and belly draft, pork with barbecue rice.
The restaurant was quiet and the food came very quickly. Recommend a visit.

Best dim sum in town for me, fast service and testy food. To be very honest if you like to try dim som they had an excellent choice and you need to open minded to try new thing , their standard Chinese food are super testy too
