I just popped in here to get out of the rain whilst I was waiting for my partner. I like it! The decor is really funky with a bright turquoise chesterfield style bar. The coffee I had was surprisingly nice and came with a free bottle of room temperature *winning* cucumber water which was deliciously refreshing.
The only thing that let the place down was the array of cakes and pastries set out on the bar looked a little bit lame. I was hoping to be tempted by something but sadly I wasn't.
I think it would be a fab place to come and drink cocktails in the evening though, very swanky!
*Added later on* So although I only gave it 4/5 stars, I came back later on for lunch with aforementioned partner and I have to say, it was really rather nice! We had a scotch egg each, my sage and onion was deliciously herby without being overpowering, my other half had the all day breakfast one which tasted of all the delicious flavours of breakfast, in a really yummy way! We also had the sharing platter for two which actually would have done us without the scotch eggs... well, it would for me but I probably would have had to wrestle him to the ground for the last slice of toast!
Still only 4/5 - sort out your cake situation Roc & Rye and I'll give you a 5 😋
Nice atmosphere although it was completely dead on a Wednesday evening. The sharing board had a nice selection of pie, scotch egg, ham, cheese and olives. Tried one of their signature cocktails which was delicious and very nicely presented, you could tell a lot of thought was put onto creating them. Same goes for the place itself, very funky and nicely decorated.
This is a little secret gem in Manchester. The recent fit out is funky and cool.
Bar staff are fab and drinks / service was great.
It was so good iam going again next week.
Now this place has a cool look to it especially if you fancy somewhere a bit more jazzy with a pinch of pazazz ! just the job to finish our Manchester Christmas Market evening with a choice of decent Whiskies and cocktails.
First bar we decided to visit in Manchester, good cocktails and ambience but you really need to set the expectation with your crew behind the bar. They looked like they didn't want to be there which is a pity because everything else was awesome!
Wonderful vibe and great decor. But what sets it apart from the rest is the provision of a space in front of the DJ console where one can dance if the mood takes them.
It's proximity to celebrity haunts like Rosso make it a place to see and be seen, if you're into that sort of thing.
Top notch whisky and bourbon selection and a plethora of whisky based cocktails.
Hidden nice place with a lovely interior, very friendly staff, good selectiom of drinks and reasonable prices. Must go!
Good service and choice of drinks. Glamorous interior.
Excellent cocktails in good looking bar.
It was a little quiet when we tried it here mid-week. It's a relatively new place and the decor and interior was cool and spacious. We only had beers but the selection of cocktails looked varied and the bar looked well-stocked.
For a Saturday afternoon with friends over a bottle of wine, you cannot beat this place. Lovely design, beaut lighting and attentive staff. A new found fave! Oh and AMAZING MUSIC! Who doesn't love a bit of Craig David?!
Super pink, super cool, super cocktails, super staff - what's not to love?!
Roc and Rye are a fabulous stylish venue! I’ve attended a number of events here and have also hosted events at the venue! The owners are really lovely and go out of their way to cater for the event! We hosted an event for the Manchester Architects Christmas Party in December it was sold out! We hired the whole venue and filled it! We have had nothing but good feedback from all who attended for excellent staff hosts and the perfect party venue! Not to mention the place to go for after work drinks! 5 stars for this brilliant bar! I really couldn’t recommend it enough! Beth
Amazing cocktails (reasonably priced too) great vibe and fun atmosphere! Love the fact it is an independent/family run venture and not a chain. Great place for meeting up or late night drinks
A little gem at the end of King Street, with great cocktails and even better staff.
Excellent new addition to Manchester's cocktail bar scene. The head mixologist is a genius, creating individual drinks of complex flavours which entertain, inspire & tease. No high volume, mass produced cocktails here. I highly recommend the Hemingway Daiquiri. Simon is the perfect front of house host - friendly, knowledgeable & genuinely keen to see that guests have a good experience. This bar deserves to do well. Go & you won't be disappointed.
Excellent staff and nearly always decent music at an appropriate level for conversation. This is a rarity in Manchester bars!
If you are looking for a drink recommendation, I'd suggest their Old Fashioned. It's always spot on.
