Had a lovely 'VEnglish' breakfast here yesterday with colleagues. Some of the reviewers seem rather fussy here - while there's still room for improvement in most establishments, the food I had was tasty, well prepared, and nicely presented. The service was friendly and attentive (eg I changed my drinks order last minute and it was accepted without a scowl).
I'm giving 5 stars to make up for the in my opinion quite unfair 2 star reviews.
PS. Shame on Liam Ashton to leave a one star review for a place he generally enjoys frequenting because once something went wrong with his breakfast, even though the staff were nice about it!

Found this delightful Cafe on Google and went after reading the great reviews. Was fairly easy to find via maps but the sign outside isn't very clear.
However, the welcome was very warm, the food was delicious and the staff were polite, accommodating and friendly. We ordered two breakfasts and despite it being 10.55 (breakfast finishes at 11.00) we were still able to order without question. The food was beautiful, filling and not greasy. The atmosphere is cosy as the eating area is downstairs, they have tables and chairs plus seating around the edges.
The only negative I found was the music was a bit too dance oriented for this time in a morning.
Bathroom was clean and functional.
I would definitely recommend and will visit again should I be in the area.

Great variety of food all of which is fantastic. Place is very clean and hygienic. The owners/staff are very pleasant people too. Love having a bite to eat. The fresh fruit smoothies are my favorite. Highly recommend Cafe Cotten, 5* plus all the way. Thanks for always looking after me :)
Found this lovely place today while waiting for my nephew ( who was visiting a training centre around the corner) I went in with mum and we had freshly brewed tea in a infuser tea pot and a pastry each. Nothing was too much trouble and prices very reasonable for Manchester. Give it a look in and we will go back to try some more of the menu next time. Five stars from us.
Amazing oat milk lattes, salad boxes and sandwiches. So many healthy options available. So delicious! The staff are so friendly are really try to encourage healthy eating, as well as providing options for the hundreds of builders in the area! I don’t know how they do it! Excited for their expansion!
This place is a hidden gem! Just had an super yummy lunch! The choice of sandwiches is amazing I could have eaten everything! The staff are absolutely lovely, extremely friendly and very attentive. This is my new go to lunch venue when in ancoats! Kate & The Twins xxx
A definite little gem in the middle of Ancoats. The best homemade breakfast I have had In along time. And those homemade cakes 😋😋😋 yummy! The pooch and I like to grab a coffee (which is definitely the best in the area) and go wonder Round cotton fields as its literally next door. If your around definitely pop in!
Great sandwiches. Fantastic brownies. All available with a drink in a meal deal for £5.50 with a drink too. Quick service at lunch. A regular lunch location.
This is a great little cafe if you want a coffee or bite to eat. They do various hot and cold dishes to eat in or take out, all of which are freshly prepared. Things like sandwiches, paninis, soups, etc. The price is very reasonable as well. You can get the meal deal, which includes main, snack and drink for about £4.20.
Good quality food at a decent price. Friendly staff. Hugely popular at lunch time, so the only down side is that there’s very little left from around 2pm onwards!
