Excellent kobeda and qabily
Eat here on regular basis. Always the same level of taste and service. Great food and one of the best kobeda in town.
We have been coming regularly since the start of 2024 and the food and service has been excellent every time. The manager is friendly and always makes good recommendations on dishes and portions to suit the size of the group. The food is fresh and served quickly.
Lovely intimate setting pre-book if you are a large group. I would say it's a bit if a hidden gem of the area. Portion size is great and tastes great, have to recommend the lamb shank. It's is cash only unless you are a very large group.
The food was nice, nothing special nor was it nasty. It was wholesome food I guess. However, for the price point, it's expensive. I'm not sure I'd come back because of the price. The service wasn't great either unfortunately. 2 waiters but only 1 knew what was going on. It isn't a bad place at all, I would recommend people try it out, especially if it's your first time trying persian/afghan food.
But they need to get a better service and find a way to get better value for money.
The food was fab! It takes about 30 to 40 minutes for the food arrive but its fresh and properly made from the heartā¦ one of the best in greater Manchester
A hidden gem for Persian and Afghani food, a must try!
My favourite dish is the qabli polo
Succulent lamb shank and delicious flavours
Lovely place hidden away. Their most famous dish is Qabli Pilau. Must try, it is perfect mashaAllah. It taste sooooo good. The meat is tender and just falls apart, its mouthwatering. They do a lovely soup for starters and an aubergine starter which is good too. Small family restaurant, lovely atmosphere, great service.
Absolutely amazing. The staff welcoming and friendly eager to explain the menu and talk through it. You wouldnāt expect it where itās located truly a hidden gem. The food is aromatic and delicious the portions are pretty big for what you pay for. My go to place for craving authentic food.š
Tucked away unassumingly on cheetham hill road but my oh my they deserve much more recognition. The space is small and incredibly homely and cosy - you feel like youāre eating in someoneās house and the quality of the food is just what youād expect from such decor. Full of flavour, with that āmums touchā and tender lamb with just the right amount of spice. If you want more there is a beautiful extremely spicy and tangy green hot sauce to accompany the dishes. Get the soup as well - itāll warm you right up. The price was incredibly reasonable also.
Decided to visit Choupan today after a few recommendations from friends.
It was a small but classic restaurant with Afghan and Iranian style deco and surroundings.
The menu was short but had most of the popular dishes. We ordered Iranian style rice with lamb shank, Manto and Lamb chops.
Everything was cooked to perfection and the taste was spot on.
Finished our meal with a cup of green tea.
The bill came to Ā£38 which isn't bad at all considering the quality of food and service we received.
Will be visiting again soon.
I have attached some pics of the food we ordered and they tasted as good as they look.
Absolutely delicious food. I can by far say itās the best food I have tasted in Manchester. Lovely family run restaurant. We are regulars here and plan on continuing to be so!
Probably the best Afghan restaurant in Manchester š
Delicious food. The koubideh and joojeh were both very soft and tasty. Mantoo (dumplings) were nice and the Lamb Shank was also very nice, very soft meat you could shake off the bone.
It was a true marvel, the food was magnificent and it was filling. It came out fast and hot and the atmosphere was delightful. Overall a 10/10 and will definitely come again.
Been a regular for over 10 years. Everything is spot on. If you want great food and super friendly service, Choupan is your place.
I love middle eastern food and this place is the best place iāve been to in manchester. Surprised it is not more well known. Incredible food and good value.
Food is tasty. Seems the are using JJ Foods lamb shanks (Meat from New Zealand ). The white drink also very tasty. And mixed grill.
Cards payments not accepted.
I loved this place, highest quality food, we got a mixture of mix kebab, lamb Shank, dupiaza and mantoo to share amongst us and it genuinely was one of the best dinning experinces we had. Well done to the owner Farsh and his team.
