At last, a quality chippy in Didsbury Village. Good food, great value ( especially the Credit Crunch Lunch) and very friendly. Great to sit in or takeaway.

Fosters is undoubtedly quality, although I don’t suppose they, or any other chippy for that matter is likely to win a Michelin star anytime soon… but to my mind they are highly deserving of the many awards and accolades they do have… and I’ll certainly be continuing to make the detour to get what I believe are the best fish and chips in the area!

A very impressive chippy. The staff were absolutely lovely, and the food was equally nice. Light fish, decent chips and good mushy peas. Didn't get to taste their tartare sauce, so we'll be heading back there before too long

It’s a take out joint with good quality of fish and mushy peas. I did not have the chips because it was a supplement to my two course lunch in a bistro nearby that I had earlier.

On our own food tour of Didsbury, my friend and I shared a portion of Cod Goujons: cooked to order, steaming hot and beautifully flaky, white fish.

One of the best take away fish&chips place you can imagine! I had cod large, just delicious. The fish is not oily deep fried, the thin but crispy batter layer just looks in golden colour. When you bite it you can feel the balance of the salt and vinegar. The mush peas is ever so consistence as well, not too watery but not too dry either ! Would definitely go back.

great food great service however it does have 3 cons which made it a 7.5/10 for me con:1 chips were not cooked for long enough and were in honesty a bit soggy con:2 curry sauce was very runny and rendered it hard to dip in chips as it all just ran off the chip by the time it met the mouth. con:3 the price was a little bit more than what other chip shops do for the deal provided maybe if it was a pound cheaper then the score would be higher overall it was a great experience the area and the style of the place was excellent i personally loved the very slight urban styling would recommend to friends and family

As a gluten free diner, having proper fish and chips is a real luxury: it was absolutely glorious! Fresh and tasty with gf vinegar to complement

This place was always my local Chippy when I lived in Didsbury, it has remained consistent in quality since it first opened. The staff have always been friendly and welcoming. Fair warning this is not the cheapest chippy in the area, but the quality is good, there is a decent range of menu options and the portion sizes are very generous.

Excellent chips. Best we’ve had in ages. Also, not for nothin’, but the woman holing that shop together is magnificent.

We tried to order on the Deliveroo site but I found it very complicated!! I rang Anchors direct! They helped me navigate the Deliveroo website! They were so helpful. We had haddock and it was delicious!!

Wow. Seriously, these were the best chips I have had for many a year. Thick, random sizes and perfectly cooked.

I think the fish and chips here is really very good, I just wish it did not cost and arm and a leg, I do think the quality is good but having to sell body parts in order to afford it feels slightly wrong. The staff are lovely and the homemade tartar sauce is exceptional. I really also like the fact they can cater to my gluten free friends. Dropped a start because of the price, but they are really very good.

Tried the gluten free cod & chips and it was excellent. Probably better than most traditional ones even. Fish was crispy, chips were not soggy, sauces very tasty. Good value for money too
