This place is one of the best to eat in all of Manchester - really great food, sweet and unpretentious. There's a lot of love gone into the food here and I'm really glad to see they're back in a new location
I read many positive reviews about this place on food review pages so I decided to try it and first Thai food experience and I completely loved it. Great food , friendly staff and nice place
We went here today after wanting to try the Wednesday buffet. We was not disappointed. Amazing food and great friendly staff. Definitely recommend. Thanks
Myself and three colleagues went in for lunch today and we thought it was great - no pomp in the place, just great fresh tasty food. Will definitely be back in (regularly) Thanks!
Fantastic proper Thai home cooking.
Briliant Food service and Thia smiles.

As the best Thia Food in Manchester.
The Best Thai Street Food in Manchester
Don't judge on looks, this is as authentic as you. get I think.
I've just come back from Thailand and was looking for that street food taste back home and this certainly is that.
Prices reflect a UK restaurant and portion size was ok for me,
The staff were very friendly and helpful even making stuff off menu for us.
Kop kun kap May I will certainly be back for more !!

the best Thai food in Manchester - I was recommended somewhere else to eat this week and nothing is as good as this place - I am popping over this Saturday and I need to make it a regular thing as the food is so fantastic xxx
Ate here last night after finding it on a fb page of cheap places to eat. A no frills cafe in side a supermarket but food was excellent. Ordered a dish each but found out later best to order few dishes then share like the Thai do. Will definetly return again. Thank you for great meal and warm service.
The most authentic Thai food in Manchester! I am Thai and I can guarantee you will have a real taste of Thai food.
Love the food here and I will definitely go back!
This place is incredible: the food is just so nice and they make you feel really welcome. I think I’ll be back here... a lot!
A week or two ago now, we had a visit to Manchester which gave me chance to visit China town and visit Siam Supermarket to cook some new recipes for my blog with the ingredients I bought. The supermarket had one of the best ranges of fresh Thai produce that I've come across in the UK and I bought quite a lot- including my favourite-stink beans! (sator). It also features a cafe called Siam Smiles which we ate at and it really did make me smile! It was a typically casually affair, like all good Thai cafes and I was thrilled to see a condiment caddy on the table (way better than regular salt and pepper) and a little pot of nam prik pao (chilli paste). I ordered the Laab Mu (chopped pork salad) which was meaty (pork and I think, liver), lots of herbs, sour and salty and a perfect amount of chilli. My husband chose the Khao Pad Moo Grob (deep fried pork fried rice). The verdict- wonderful flavours, definitely not Westernised, great value for money- absolutely perfect and definitely one to return to the next time we’re back in Manchester. Thai pop up.i has one of the best papaya salad
Thank you :) this is real the siam smiling :)
Superb. Tasty, fresh, authentic. Love this place and will definitely be back.
Authentic food, friendly staff and reasonable price. Highly recommended
Very small restaurant but came quite late so we managed to get a seat. Service was really nice and they were just the right amount of attentive.
The food was absolutely delicious and you could see the chef cooking right in front of you too which added to the atmosphere. My main complaint is the portion size compared to the price... Particularly the curry. There just isn't enough of it especially when compared to the rice which is particularly annoying because the sauce was so good! Had to order 2x portions to try to satisfy the craving (which is the only reason my rating is a 4 and not a 5).
Just a word of warning - the menu is quite short so depending on preferences you may not find what you're craving (we did but we looked it up beforehand).
Such a friendly Thai restaurant!
Sat just behind the Main Street but worth the tiny detour!
I ordered …
Sun dried pork 👌🏽
Minced chicken salad - laab gai
And a mixed meat dish with rice
All amazing and authentic flavours!
Will be back
Haven’t tried such authentic Thai food in months! I love the design and cozy atmosphere of the restaurant. The food was delicious with friendly service. We enjoyed it a lot and will definitely come back.
If you’re looking for the real Thai experience then look no further. Family atmosphere, lovely staff and a genuine, friendly place to stay. I couldn’t recommend it enough. Had a great time and great with kids too!! Love it 😊 We just wished we lived closer!!!
I am Thai. This place serves authentic taste Thai food cooked by Thais. I could see food contains a lot original ingredients like vegetables they used.
Not only food that tastes so good the people i talked to are all thai nice both front, back staff.
Something to be aware of is the portion may look a bit small in the price range but compare to taste and ingredients it makes sense. Also I think they fresh cook portion by portion so food takes longer time. But we know we have quality and authentic taste thai food in the end.
THE BEST PAPAYA SALAD(withPlara) in Manchester. Trust me, if you want proper Thai food this place is where you must visit. My friend and I decided this is our usual place when we need that spice hit. It’s a must!!!
Lovely authentic Thai meal.
The restaurant was very basic and a little cold. However the staff were very friendly and attentive.
The food tasted very fresh and traditional Thai compared to some of the other chains in town.
Siam Smiles is a hidden gem in the heart of Manchester, offering an authentic taste of Thailand that transports diners to the bustling streets of Bangkok.

BEST THAI RESTAURANT IN MANCHESTER
I said it and i will say it again!!!
This is as close as you can get for authentic thai food in Manchester. I have tried a few Thai restaurants and nothing has ever come close!
I LOVE their Tom Yum, it is perfectly sour and with a great kick to it. Other restaurants do it too thick, too salty, not sour and spicy enough. But this is the real deal! Their noodles are chewy and goes well with the broth.
We also ordered the pork blood broth noodles, which I forgot the Thai name. If you have never had it the idea might be scary, but you will not taste the blood at all, just deep and rich broth that will make you want to finish it.
I expected the grilled pork and deep fried tofu to be a bigger portion to be honest, shocked me a bit when I saw it coming. But they did the sides good as well, well seasoned pork with spicy tangy sauce, tofu with rich soy taste.
Their pineapple juice is amazing as well, taste like fresh pineapple, no extra seasoning, no chemical taste. Just refreshing summer drink like what I will get in Thailand!
I just wish the portions were bigger, even the noodles are not enough to fill me, a not so big eater. The sides have much smaller portions compared to the photos on the menu. I would expect bigger plates with such price!
I have been this restaurant several times, I am thai I would tell that thai food here is the most authentic which i have not tasted in the UK for 2 years!!
They cook all the food with all the ingredients followed authentic thai recipes, Most importantly, the taste is soooooooo yummmmmmmmmmm
I would recommend, Panang Curry, Papaya salad, Tomyum Noodle, they are incredible!!
For starters, Sai krok E-san and summer rolls are the best!!
Writing review makes me want to go there and eat again 🤤
I want to give 100000000000 stars if I could!!!
This extremely authentic family owned Thai restaurant offers the best Thai food I’ve ever had. Chef May was so welcoming and friendly and the atmosphere was so cosy that I felt I was in her home being served fresh homemade food. I asked her to change the spiciness level to suit what I can handle and she made it exactly how I love it. I can’t recommend enough! The portions were reasonably sized and the prices were a bargain!
We are currently still sat in the restaurant while writing this. It’s one of my favourite places. From the atmosphere to the food! It’s so intimate and lovely!
I wanted to take photos of each dish we had but I only managed to take one photo as we got carried away so you can see the stack of plates! Absolutely delicious.
1000% recommend
Each dish here really packs a punch! This is the freshest & best Thai food I have ever had in the UK. Every dish is fantastic and we can't wait to return for more
