My friend and I chose to eat at The Angel this weekend and what a great decision it was. The place is cosy with a nice atmosphere. We went upstairs to the restaurant and was greeted by the chef Charlie. What a top bloke he is. He took our order and went off to the kitchen. Charlie's food was simply amazing, so tasty and a great portion size. I would recommend anyone to give this place a go. You won't be disappointed! Will definitely be going back in the future :)

We have been to the Angel several times. Pleasant and homely atmosphere. Last night a guy kept jumping on to the piano. He was brilliant and had the whole pub singing along with him. Brilliant.

Amazing! A fabulous place with a great selection of Real Ales, a wonderful atmosphere and a grand piano (which I played). So good, I went back on the second night of my weekend stay! Love it!

Great place, just one step away from the crowded streets in the Northern Quarter. Good and friendly service, the food is delicious. I would recommend it anytime. Make sure to try the shepherd's pie!

Did'nt realise this pub was still going, but so glad we popped in while on a pub crawl. Really good atmosphere and good choice of beers, although we did'nt eat the menu looked great and bar staff were great !!

This was the first time we'd visited this pub in years, but we'll try not to leave it so long in future. The place itself has seen better days, but it's warm and welcoming and just the ticket on a wet and windy December afternoon. A good selection of well-kept real ales, very reasonably priced. A must for any beer lover when in this part of town.

19 of us had christmas dinner at the Angel last night and every single one of us couldn't stop talking about how much we loved the food and staff. The restaurant upstairs is a beautiful room. We had a great time and would recommend it to everyone. Well done guys what a gem of a place.

Found this one by accident

On a tour of Manchester, found this one by accident. Proper boozer, cracking ales, 8 on offer when we visited. Well worth a visit if you like real ale.

Gives you wings. First review of any restraunt we have eaten in but feel that The Angel is more than worthy.Booked table for 4 with friends who had previously eaten here. Didnt think we were in the right place but dont let the decor put you off.Had a couple of excellent beers from a great range, girls had a bottle of house white, a £10 bargain. Went to table in upstairs restaurant which is quirky Lovely attentive staff,Brilliant starters Brilliant main courses and squeezed an excellent creme brulee in, more of the £10 wine.If you want granite, hardwood, uniforms, stuffy staff, and having your hat nailed on with production line food and wine/water, carry on playng safe at the footballers haunts. If you want excellent fresh food with great staff, good wine, in quirky surroundings, eat here asap.

Nice Pub, didn't try the food. Really good Beers 😎 lots of tables seats and friendly customers. Bar Staff are efficient and friendly, although the Bar Manager (or Head Barman??) needs a holiday, he does look highly strung 🤣 The Toilets have some 'interesting reading' on the walls 👍🤣

This was a superb pub and i really enjoyed going there, but as you can see it was rather quite, which was normal for a Sunday evening after a very hectic Friday and Saturday. The beer selection was very good and well kept and i would defiantly go again.

We made the right decision of chosen this place for our brunch! We wanted to order so many menu but there’s only 2 of us. Took a point out because I was expecting more from Aperol spritz. Maybe a nicer decoration like slice of fresh orange in it. Overall was great 👍🏼

Popped in here for a couple of pints when visiting Manchester recently. Wasn’t overly busy and it was nice to be able to warm up by the fire on a cold day. Drinks were reasonably priced and staff very friendly

What a great visit i had good old traditional pub so nice to see some still around. Great selection of beers. And served by a lovely friendly young lady Ella happy to chat made us feel very welcome, and seemed like she actually wanted to be there which is refreshing for bar staff nowadays. Definatly worth a visit we will be back.

Fantastic little pub full of character. Wide range of German beers which I like 😁. The price was very reasonable too.

Somehow this old local has survived the massive redevelopment in this area of the Northern Quarter. It is a bit shabby and needs a sympathetic refurb but it is a haven for real ale and great cider. ( A Vimto flavoured 7.5%!) Has a friendly vibe and well worth a visit.

A really homely, friendly pub. A bit rough around the edges, but the beer and cider choice is excellent, the bar staff are really welcoming, and I'd gladly go back. Looks like a quiz on a Monday, and I assume other things too.
