Great place to meet friends. Good food and beer available. Ideal place to start your night or afternoon if you are keen. Great staff and nice atmosphere. Probably better to book a table if you are wanting food.

Stopped by for coffee waiting on sightseeing bus, and came back for dinner. Friendly staff and very clean. The chef even apologized for the portion of fish served, and only charged for a “small” portion. I am in town for the week, and will definitely be back...

Found the place by chance passing at 9am yesterday. The manager and waiter were friendly and the service excellent. Breakfast with bucks fizz is a bargain and amazing Bloody Marys. Great views so my family joined us too for equally entertaining service and great drinks. Definitely would recommend and go back when in Manchester again. Cheers all for ending a weekend trip so perfectly.

We ate lunch at Duttons yesterday. The food was excellent (Pulled pork wrap with fries and salad) Great price and washed down nicely with a rather lovely Malbec. Our waiter was particularly helpful, friendly and entertaining! We would definitely eat here again.

Had a great time yesterday! Even after a very busy day (Manchester day), the staff was really friendly and the food and drinks too. We absolutely enjoyed the location, our gin&tonic, white wine and Erdinger, lamb and steak. Special thanks to Mathew, great guy! He knows what hospitality is all about!

I ordered fish and chips and the fish was bigger than a 5 year old boy. Very crisp batter and amazing tartar sauce. Excellent food, service and prices.

This was the first time my brother has ever been to Manchester. So we just wandered around and came across this place. It looked friendly enough and the tables were in the sun so we decided to stop there. I had the Dutton's Special Burge, my brother had the fish and chips and between us we had Manchester Craft Lager and Manchester Pale Ale. Both exquisitely nice beers.

The food was good. I would say though that the beer patties were a little bit on the smaller side, but they were tasty. And my brother thoroughly enjoyed the fish and chips.

The service was exceptional and the staff were extremely helpful. Letting us have a quick taste of the Rhubarb and Custard IPA. Which I would most definitely recommend.

Classy bar with a great decoration both inside and outside.

It is cool to have a barrel for a table.
They make their own beer so Kudos for that.
It is always good to try something authentic and different.

Great wiskey, by the way!

Really enjoyed the newly refurbished JW Lees flagship bar. (Used to be Duttons) Lots more choice of their own ales available and great decor with pictures showing JW Lees from many years ago.

Absolutely fantastic!! This was the honestly the BEST lasagne we have ever had. You could tell that it was definitely homemade and it was only £13.45!!!! We are from Sheffield and travelled to Manchester for the Christmas markets, so was surprised we managed to book a table! The service was great and the personalised welcome plaque was as a nice touch. We are already planning on going back to Manchester just to come back here for the lasagne!

New place recently open. Really nice vibe, nice team and not ridiculously expensive for central Manchester. I didn’t try the food, just went for after work drinks

Since the upgrade from Duttons to Founder's Hall as it is now, they have really stepped up in terms of the atmosphere and design of the pub. Great location, loads of seating inside and outside. It all feels very modern with a great range of food and drinks. Love coming here!

Dog friendly, pretty good Sunday roast. Good cask beer. Music could have been a bit quieter but we were sat quite close to a speaker so might not have been as loud elsewhere.

Great new venture from local Lees brewery, showcasing their core and seasonal products in a modern industrial bar/restaurant. A big improvement on Duttons as the focus on beer has increased with the food complementing this. 7 in total on cask - the Black Rose milk stout is a gorgeous drink, like a dessert beer. Worth a look.

Had Christmas dinner with work colleagues today and the lady who served us smiled throughout the service which was so nice. All the staff who served us were really pleasant again which was great customer service. I think it was the landlord who also checked everything was running smoothly. The room was great and atmosphere Christmassy with Christmas crackers with fab bad jokes! Oh and the plates were warmed … attention to detail … nice!!!!

Nice pub, nice food, staff were friendly. View slightly let down by the construction work opposite. Could be easily missed due to that construction,

I generally much prefer the older traditional pubs of Manchester but Founder's Hall is a very impressive new addition. Top range of ales and - very unusually for a Manchester real ale pub - an excellent place to eat too.
