If you are in Manchester and confused to choose a place to dine in, Waterhouse is the place to go. Good quality food is served without ripping your pockets. Vegetable burger was really good. The fish could have been less oily.
It was a Sunday. Cold. Lonely. I sought comfort in the familiar flavours of a roast. Stumbled across this one while on my way to another restaurant around the corner. No regrets.
The guest ales were good and the roast was served quickly and tasted deeelishus!
The service is prompt, the bartender gave suggestions and the serving staff was really polite as well. The decor wasn't anything out of the ordinary but luckily wasn't overbearing either. I felt totally comfortable being there by myself so that's a good thing as well.
All in all, a happy Sunday :)
Dining Experience @ The Waterhouse JD Wetherspoon.
.
As a chain pub, The Waterhouse JD Wetherspoon is known for its large standardised menu available all day, with good value for money dishes. It's also the only large-scale pub brand to operate during breakfast.
.
Ambience is cozy and warm. The tight corridors lead into small dining rooms, which are medium-lit. Aging wooden furnishings, faded carpets, and a non-digital feel, lend character.
.
Service is partially self-service, with ordering and payment over the counter, as the online system doesn't work. Staff will serve orders to your table, but cleaning up is leisurely done, just as well they have ample seats.
.
Food is low-cost pub grub, most passably edible to above average in quality. Portions are large for individuals, offering good value for money. Prices are affordable, budget about GBP £16 per person.
.
The Beer Coors Light (GBP £4.18) is a refreshing yet light brew, good only for easy-drinking or the young.
.
Their rendition of Fish And Chips (GBP £10.82) features a large boneless fillet of lean flaky moist atlantic cod fish, coated in a crisp golden batter. Has a lovely gentle sweet savoury flavour.
.
I added salt and malt vinegar, for added sour salty kick. The thick cut English potato chips had starchy salty savoury flavour, while the gooey mushy peas had vegetal grassy earthy sweet flavour. Very happy with this.
What a fun place to meet up and grab a beverage and snack with friends in Manchester!! This is a def stop you will love and go back to.
Vero good place with great atmosphere.
It seems to be a place where local people go to have a drink during their pause from works.
Very recommended 😋😋
popped in for evening meal as it was near my hotel. Quiet busy but managed to find a table. Food was served quiet quickly and was really tasty. Atmosphere seemed really friendly like everyone was enjoying themselves and relaxing not rowdy. pleasant experience.
Ein typischer Wetherspoone. Die Biere sind günstig, das Essen kommt prompt. Das Restaurant ist verkehrsgünstig gelegen.

A typical Wetherspoone. The beers are cheap and the food comes promptly. The restaurant is conveniently located.
Usual great value spoons in the centre of Manchester. Can be difficult to find a table as gets busy at all times of the day.
Bar person served us the wrong drink so he was going to reimburse us when another bar person said once it's been poured you can't have a refund you have to have the drink that's poured. Unhappy about this I spoke with the manager who swiftly exchanged the drink for the one we wanted and refunded the difference in price. Great service from her, sadly the same can't be said for the barmaid.
Didn't eat, just had a few drinks with friends. I'm a big fan of Wetherspoons pubs because of the amazing beers they have. This one did not disappoint. I'd definitely recommend.
The waterhouse is a really nice wetherspoons. It is a large pub, but with an intimate feeling, due to the fact that it has several different rooms. The staff were very friendly and efficient. There was an excellent choice of cask conditioned Hand-pulled real ales on when we visited. There is a great menu.
With some excellent burgers and curries, the meal deals are a very good value.
Called in for quick drink, as had just been for a meal elsewhere. Never been before, My son and his wife had and suggested we call in as early, about 4.30 pm as it apparently gets very busy with workers. It was very busy later but great atmosphere, would recommend 👌
Very popular Spoons opposite the side of the Town Hall. A small outside seating area. Multiple rooms to left and right with further seating to the rear. ( Often only spare seats left.) Good real ale selection. Note more hand pumps hidden behind column on left side. For some reason customers tend to form a queue for service so queue cutters like Martin Meerkat beware. Toilets upstairs. ( Wheelchair access through back of pub, steep steps at front.) Food always popular.
We came in yesteday, its a nice place. There was abit of a mix up with the food order, which was corrected quickly and professionally, so not a problem as these things happen and it was busy. But my 5 star review is for my mum, she didn't get the member of staffs name but we feel she deserves recognition. My mum has mobility issues but always feels embarrassed to ask for the disabled toilet key, she tried to make it up the stairs when a member of staff spotted her struggling, helped her back down (she only got halfway up) and unlocked the downstairs toilet for her. It may not seem like a big thing but it's not very often you get that sort of kindness in a busy restraunt environment. Thank-you for helping my mum.
You really can’t go wrong with a Wetherspoons! We popped in for further drinks after visiting another bar and easily found a table considering it was a busy Saturday. The building is much bigger than it looks from the outside and toilets are located up some vintage style stairs.
If your mobility impaired, I’d choose another Wetherspoons as there is no disabled access inside. I’d return again for cheap drinks and room to chatter!

Good value, pleasant enough place to eat and drink. In terms of service, we found it was faster to order from your table via the QR code.
One of the more basic 'spoons : but usual low prices on drinks , toilets upstairs 😊, and plenty of tables in a Warren of a venue. A pint for under £2.50 in 2023 is excellent value! 👍
We had 2 lunches, 2 drinks and 2 coffees and it was only £21. It was really excellent value. 3.69 for a pint of dark fruits when you can pay 5.50 in some places. The food was okay too. Speedy service and piping hot. Definitely be visiting again. We'll done Weatherspoons. Keep it going.
