One of the best places I have chilled during my time here. The name is a bit confusing as it's different on map, to door, to what it's actually called. But! It still tastes so good! Good coffee, good cakes, staff are amazing, has a great cozy feel to it, kind of like a country farmhouse. It is also
Beautiful tearoom next to Manchester cathedral. The service is slow so if you are in a rush or you want a quick bite this is not the place for you. Extended tea menu and they bake a scone that is divine.
They always have a good selection of cakes at the counter. The staff is friendly and really nice
Fabulous tearoom just opposite the cathedral. Perfect for taking a break from walking around the city if your shopping or sightseeing. They have a HUGE selection of teas avaliable here great if you love trying new flavours and their cakes are very tasty.
Popped in for morning coffee and cake. The cafe is incorporated within the Cathedral visitor centre and is light and airy. The coffee was nicely prepared and the carrot cake delicious!
One of the nicest place I've been to. It's lovely and there's a lot of light. The food is really good and there's a large selection of teas. I took a rose one and it was delicious. The scone was a bit to crumbly for my taste bit was good anyway. The staff is the best, they're so nice and efficient.
Nice tea place. There is a variety of sandwiches, although the tuscan bean stew was probably the better option.
Last time I had the afternoon tea which was pretty good as well. My favourite was the scones with cream and jam!
Cake-wise, the lemon and Earl Grey cake was delicious, as was the blondie.
Next to the cathedral. Busy in lunch time but service is quick. Cheese macaroni is super. Tea is as good as it should be.
Fantastic little gem with wonderful food, amazing selection of home made cakes and that many teas you need to keep coming every day for a month to try them all!! Lovely!!
Soooo gorgeous. So weird being in the cafe from the Netflix series The stranger. Lovley coffee, staff and surroundings.
Lovely little coffee shop, great coffee and delicious cakes. Nice interior, great staff.
Quirky, friendly retreat to take time out with a perfectly brewed tea. It's often busy (they're often apologetically turning people away) yet you'll never feel rushed or unwelcome.
Here it's not Proper tea coffee shop as use to be I believed change owner and new shop name is "1881 Hatch "
A nice little bright tea shop next to the cathedral. It got busy around lunch time on the Sunday two of is went, but we still found a seat. There's a good selection of teas, and you get given everything to make sure they're brewed just right. The staff are nice and friendly too!
My only suggestion
Had a delicious fresh lunch, staff lively and efficient. Resisted the cake but they looked scrummy too.
Great place for scones and cake, lovely selection of teas. Lovely view of the cathedral. Space for pushchairs and clean toilets with baby changing facilities. One of my favourite spots in town. Service is very friendly but a bit slow.
Light, bright and cheerful, Proper Tea is a lovely place to experiment with new teas, grab lunch or indulge with a slice of cake. The staff were friendly and even though the cafe was full when we arrived, they did a great job finding seating us quickly and upgrading us to a better table when it cam
I've been twice with the OH now. I much prefer this place to Teacup (the older sister of Proper Tea). It's a lot lighter and doesn't feel as cramped.
The tea selection is vast and I highly recommend the Assam Gold. The cakes are yummy and the lunch menu looks good, although we've not tried that yet.
Lovely cousin of Teacup and with the same extensive tea and cake selection. Service if friendly, and the food is wonderful.
I actually prefer the lighter decor (old doors make up the counter and booth dividers) and setting of this cafe, compared to Teacup.
It's quite a small venue so don't be surp
