I stopped in while waiting for my wife to have a medical procedure just across the street. The medical staff recommended Artisan and I'm glad they did. The food was extremely good. I'll definitely be back when in the area! The only small issue was the lack of follow up service as I only saw my waitress on ordering and on bill delivery and she forgot my coffee. Oh, and I was unable to get a dessert to go for my wife. The waitress said I could not get one to go... Kinda odd, but ok.
Did I mention the food was very very good? đź‘Ť The ambiance was nice (slightly loud music though) and there was no wait to be seated. Lots of locals were here. I saw several waiting and talking to one another. This is also a sign of a popular eatery.
Just what we wanted
Great service, nice people We had a regular and a BBB burger and shared an order of fries. It was delicious and filling. Three sauces for the fries from a selection of about 15 flavors.
It was incredibly busy when we arrived, but we only had a short wait for a table. The deli board starter was delicious and perfect for 2 to share. Goats cheese salad came without goats cheese, but this was quickly remedied. Wrong bottle of wine came, but again quickly sorted. Wrong bill give. Fabulous venue. Great food and atmosphere with slightly chaotic service.
I've been there for three times, the first two time the food was ok but the last time I went there I was completely disappointed. We ordered three different dishes and all of them were awful, the turkey smelled badly as you couldn't eat it
, and the fish wasn't cooked very well.
We ordered dessert and it wasn't as bad as the food at least we could eat it.
I wouldn't recommend this place for busywork like Christmas
Lively atmosphere. Cocktails were great whilst waiting at the bar for our table. Ordered the American style pizza and chorizo small plate. Pizza was very good. Not a soggy bottom in sight! Service was prompt and drinks were always flowing. Will definitely be back.
I like this place, simple. The food is good, wholesome and hot served in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. When I ate here with my sister we split a pizza and the pulled pork sandwich and both I would happily order again! It's very reasonably priced and a brilliant place for groups as there's something to suit every taste. I can imagine this also being a great place for a date night and I can't wait for my next trip here!
"Hi Babe, what's happening... Let's get involved!" the fashionable Maitre D' enthusiastically piped up as he ushered us to our table.
Yep I was definitely in Manchester today! In the trendy area of Spinningfields to be exact.
I loved the place so much, I’ve been back since my original review as a fully paying member of the public and plan to go again. The menu is far too fun to try only a couple of dishes, and despite a few snarls from Spinningfields shemales sporting gold brocade, and too, too many deck shoes treading the reclaimed floorboards, it’s a warm, inviting environment to eat and be entertained in, offering that holy grail of experiences of forgetting where you are, whilst whiling away the hours with good company, food and drink. My kind of place.
We are definitely going back to Artisan. I've already mentally made a date with their Sunday roast, which comes with the option of ordering the entire roast for the table. Nice. We didn't have a single complaint about our food, and the service was impecable. Seamless from start to finish.
Artisan is the brand new Kitchen and Bar by Living Ventures , Manchester's most successful restaurant group. This is surely the most ambitious of any of their ventures so far though. It's seriously impressive when you first walk into the space over the bridge from the reception area. First of all it's absolutely massive . It was buzzing when we went yesterday evening, there were loads of staff milling around being trained and generally looking busy. We were shown the private dining area, a very long table that sits well over 20, with views over Bridge street. The thing that struck me first was that this is a really big professional operation as you'd probably expect. The style has been perfectly realised with stripped back walls and artistic touches. Whereas Neighbourhood is all shiny glitz and glam, this feels different, like a cool NY loft apartment. It'll be interesting to see if the clientèle are similar to their brash noisy neighbours.
I love the dessert menu here; anywhere that sells arctic roll and baked Alaska is a sure fire winner for me! This time I took my lead from our lovely waitress who recommended the hot chocolate pudding. My friend couldn’t manage a dessert so left me to indulge alone.
Artisan is not trying to be fine dining, it's not trying to be hipishly down-at-heel, it's not trying to push boundaries and it's not jumping on any bandwagon. It's just a comfortable, relaxed space, with great food and good drinks. We visited mid-week and were pleasantly surprised that a) it was pretty busy for mid-week and b) that the vast, 12,000 ft space seemed really rather cosy. As with other Living Ventures concerns, there's been a conscious and very obvious effort to ensure the design encapsulates everything this space is abou
Amazing Sunday dinner for a great price! Really nice selection of cocktails too. Decor and atmosphere was excellent too. Only 4 stars as a couple of the staff didn't seem to know what they were doing. The bartender took longer to make drinks as they didn't seem to know the spec for them. And a lady provided us with the wrong bill although was kind enough to take an item off as compensation.
All in all it would be a great place to attend for evening drinks and is excellent for Sunday dinner. The toilets were really unique and well decorated too.
Currently, they are hosting Finca which serve Cuban Street food - originally based in Liverpool. We decided to come here for my sisters birthday from Liverpool as their instagram has been bomb lately. We were not disappointed. We ordered the Finca Cubano, the Ropa Frita, Finca Fresco and the Tostones. It was all flavoursome and exactly what we’d hoped it would be - you just have to look at that photo to know it’s gonna be good. The service was quick and the waitress did a great job of explaining some of the options too. Our favourites were definitely the Finca cubano (best sandwich I’ve ever eaten) and the Finca Fresco (like healthier nachos). It was easy to share with my sister too! The bathrooms were also insanely nice. We also ended up sharing a dessert as we didn’t want to leave and had the bunuelos and mantecado. Simply orgasmic.
Trendy centre bar with great food & drinks menu. Live music really makes this a great bar. Great selection of drinks. Some nice riojas and real ales. Works well for small parties for a few drinks and pizza or can eat from restaurant menu đź‘Ť
This 5* review is based solely on the lunch menu. Half a chicken, chips, a fairly large garlic bread and a drink for 10.95 is hard to beat. It was good quality food too!
Nice venue very intimate and good vibe. I have only been here for a few cocktails but enjoyed it. I rated 4 stars as the drinks where very overpriced for what you get.
Location, staff and drinks excellent, ambience and food quite good. Food is decent but not quite as good as the venue. Their cocktails are truly excellent though. Looks more but.actually best as a quality lunch meat/fish/burger type place. Staff here are fantastic though. Definitely worth going as away from the crowds in a relaxed atmosphere upstairs with subtle lighting.
Had a meal here for a staff Christmas meal. The place it self is very busy and has a great atmosphere. The food was lovely and service was good. I was quite confused on entry as the host was wearing casual clothing and I was unaware if they worked there or if the were a customer. We were told that there would be a band and DJ on the night but we never seen them. The waiter at the end of the night said the band had finished and it was downstairs. Didn't bother us as we didn't really go for the band.
Atmosphere is loud and vibrant. Good dishes except for the herby seasoning on the chips and the lack lustre prosciutto flat bread. The meat dishes we're superb; full of flavor.
Service was excellent and even when our mains we're late, they offered us free drinks to say sorry.
Recommended.
Great decor and atmosphere- quite an artsy feel to it, there are various pieces of art dotted around but not too extravagant. It gets very busy so its best to book a table if you want food as we had to wait a while to get a table. Otherwise hit the bar where you are spoilt for choice. For food my friend and I both ordered a chicken burger which is probably the best I've ever had and it came out quickly- credit to the chef. First visit was good definitely going back.
We had an early Christmas party event here in November 2017. We booked a private room call the Study for 9pm. Arrived early for drinks at the bar and the place was buzzing! Live band played some great music while we waited for the room to be available. Once seated, the service was exceptional and the food was great. This place is definitely worth a look. 5 out of 5...
Booked the Gallery (one of the private rooms) for my parent's 30th wedding anniversary meal. Had an amazing time - would thoroughly recommend it! The food and setting was excellent. Lucas was in charge of service for my party and he was great, made me feel calm and made sure everything ran well. Will definitely be coming back!
Really fantastic find. The staff were brilliant, really accommodating and made us feel very welcome. Thank you to Ian there who really went the extra mile.
Loved the decor and the minimalist bar was really special.
If you like pork crackling, make sure you order a portion of theirs. Really amazing
Absolutely amazing food! Came here with a group of 13 for a works Christmas do and couldn't fault it. The service was very friendly and accommodating, the drinks were lovely and the atmosphere is the best in the area - really spacious and decorated really well. It was also really reasonably priced, coming to around ÂŁ110 for all of us!
Been to the Artisan a lot during the past few months. I love the decor and design, it's cool and has a really good vibe. It reminds me of a New York Manhattan loft. The food is always delicious and very good quality. Sometimes when we go on a Sunday the menu is limited with a lot of meals not available. But I think this shows that all the ingredients are bought fresh and there is always something else which we order instead. The only thing which we weren't too impressed with was the Sunday Lunch where you order a whole joint of meat and cut it yourself at the table. The sides weren't particularly great and it was expensive for what you got. Apart from that, an excellent choice for a casual meal or even on a special occasion.
Well worth it. Food was fantastic, the space is incredible and the staff were very attentive. We played it safe by keeping the comments of several reviewers comments in mind about the portions being small. I don't know how much those reviewers eat, but they are wrong. The portions were not small. In fact, the flat bread was enormous and the burger was a double. Both were delicious. If you get the chance, go. There's only one small downside - the hand-dryers in the bathrooms are slooooow, so you miss out on the brilliant restaurant atmosphere while having to stand there waiting for them to effectively waft air onto your wet hands. Hello Dyson Airblade?... regardless, absolutely 5 stars.
I went to Artisan after hearing good things and had a great time. The staff are friendly and all seem happy to work in the environment. The atmosphere in the spacious restaurant was chilled with a nice level of professionalism and along with the rustic decor made for a really informal and relaxed dining experience.
I ordered 2 cocktails during my dining experience and can happily say i was satisfied with the price i was paying for them as its not always about quantity.
After eating a beautiful chicken liver pâté for starters I was greeted with a perfect chicken burger which was moist, flavoursome and with a good texture on a lovely brioche bun. O and the sweet potato chips where to die for.
I will be visiting them again.
