Absolutely love it here, they never disappoint! The food was as good as on our first visit and the service is 2nd to none. Couldn’t have picked a better place to eat on Christmas Eve
Excellent food and service definitely will be back soon, would recommend the meatball starter and Lobster main the children's menu is great letting them get involved & making their own pizza
A very enjoyable evening, having a celebratory retirement meal with a colleague. Great food, great company and excellent staff. Will definitely return again.
Excellent - I eat here regularly and cannot fault the place. Friendly staff, great service and top class food.
My daughter and I went here for lunch on Tuesday, service was excellent, we had the chicken liver pate to start which was beautiful then we had the pan fried sea bass, which was cooked to perfection. And the Bbq pulled pork panoid. Staff are extremely helpful, even tho I live in Derbyshire, I will be visiting this restaurant again in the future.
My fave place always love coming here, relaxed atmosphere and staff always welcoming!
old reliable
The well established Italian restaurant will always come good visit after visit . The food is very traditional but consistent whether one chooses pasta meat or fish . The wine selection is good and reasonably priced with some nice examples from unusual districts like Marche .The main drawback is the music which is both loud and distracting but may well be better tolerated by younger clientele. Good place to take friends and family . An intimate twosome ? I don’t think so
Went to Gusto, seated straight away, Irene our waitress was quick polite took our drinks and food order and we really enjoy it. Spot on and no faults at all.
We ate here on a busy bank holiday weekend and still had good service. Nice atmosphere and good food to top. Can personally recommend the pizzas..
Fantastic. Great atmosphere, fantastic service and food, best cocktails in didsbury. Can't wait to go back.
Delicious food. Our party loved the beef carpaccio, wild mushroom and smoked bacon risotto, the special rolled beef with cured ham and artichoke and the seared tuna. Courgettes and green beans were too greasy, but everything else was good and they have a healthy eating menu. A little pricey but we'll definitely be trying it again.
We continue to come back time and time again, always guaranteed to get great service without being obtrusive and a tasty meal. The pizzas are great!
It is incumbent that I called to your attention the outstanding service I recently received at your restaurant in Didsbury by the dynamic due Ms Jody Gregory and Ms. Jessica Jones , when it comes to customer service they get it!
From walking in the door, till after compleation of our fabulous dinner, they welcomed our family into your restaurant as I would have welcome someone into my home.
I found Jessica to be affable yet professional with very kind spirit. I was very impressed with her enegery and positive demeanor.
It was apparent that there was a very strong team spirit, amongst all of the service staff members, and they genuinely care for the wellbeing of each other which enabled them to care for us.
Mr. Hammond, thank your leadership which I am certain is instrumental for setting the tone for a memorable and wonderful of that best of wishes.
I thought Gusto was a relatively new chain but looking at the other reviews I see it's been in Didsbury for years and it's noticeable that reviews have been consistently good.
We also formed a good impression - the lady front of house was extremely nice (immediately realising the reason we were on a deadline was because we were going to see Bridget Jones's Baby!) and so were the two bartenders who made our £4.95 pre 7pm cocktails. My friend has not been too impressed by the martinis but I tried an elderflower negroni and really liked it - definitely worth a go if you are there when the deal is on (you have to pay at the bar).
We sat in the comfortable, heated area outside and had some really delicious tomato garlic bread - definitely recommended! I then opted for the beef tortellini which was tasty although owing to my history of living in the home of tortellini, Bologna, I feel bound to point out that what they in fact serve here is the much larger tortelloni and in Italy I don't think you would ever get the latter filled with meat.
Service was a little bit slower outside, oddly they seemed to have 2 people doing the terrace tables which implied they also had tables inside, an odd system, but generally was good throughout the meal.
I know its a chain but I can't fault it.
The staff are very nice and smiley. The food is just lovely, I had crab pasta last night which was great. Just so you know I can't eat enough crab at the moment so it was just what I fancied. There is something for everyone on the menu. Its quite a family friendly place but still chic enough to make you want to put on your new dress.
With two for one cocktails before 7pm its great place to start an evening. The cocktails are good and so is the wine.
If you don't finish you pizza or pasta do ask for a doggie bag its good cold too.
I was hoping for glam loos but clean and well lit will do.
I went here for the first time for a Christmas party and was served a 3 course meal for £35. I had a ham and leek terrine with mustard dressing and spiced beetroot chutney, slow cooked beef daube (minus the fried potato gnocchi) served with a green peppercorn, garlic and red wine sauce and a lemon sorbet. I would have chosen differently; I was limited due to my dietary requirements, but I was not disappointed by these delicious offerings. There was a George Michael tribute act and he was brilliant! I'm almost sure he'd be as good before several glasses of prosecco...
My wife and I decided to go here for lunch on a quiet midweek afternoon. We were greeted by a pleasant member of staff and quickly seated. We ordered a caprino pizza and a grana padano risotto. The food was well prepared, service was excellent and we enjoyed the experience. However the menu options were a bit limited, which means we may not choose Gusto again. Having said that if our friends were organising an event here we wouldn't mind going back.
A great sized restaurant with a buzzing atmosphere. Although it's a chain it feels like an independent restaurant, which I really liked. Tables for 2 are quite close together but we didn't feel too much on our nextdoor neighbours laps! We went for the tiger prawns & the calamari to start - no photo as I got way to excited and dived right in. The calamari was absolutely amazing, to the point where I didn't want to share with the boyfriend (I think he had the same sentiments). For the mains Tom went for the prawn & lobster spaghetti and I went for the flattened rump steak. The steak was cooked to perfection & seasoned amazingly (garlic, chilli, peppercorn & sea salt), however I made the error of requesting the peppercorn sauce which was far too overpowering & sadly didn't compliment very well. The spaghetti looked delicious, with the lobster cooked really well. Of course the only option for dessert had to be the sticky toffee pudding, and it didn't disappoint!
Our 2nd order of drinks didn't appear so we had to chase up but the manager sorted it out and offered them on the house for us, which we appreciated! I'd recommend trying out this place on a quiet night - you'll be guaranteed great service & lovely food!
There are several Gusto locations but it still feels like a great independent restaurant. The food is excellent, we've eaten here many times and never had a bad dish. It's my go to place for a night out with my best friend, a date with my boyfriend and family meals. We celebrated my Mums 60th there last Friday and, as usual, it was perfect.
I generally go for the steak as its great here and a good tip is they offer starter portions of the main pasta dishes if you fancy trying one. There was a new dessert menu since I last visited and I tried the new chocolate mouse with espresso cream. I highly recommend this dessert, add an espresso martini and you'll be in heaven!
Great lunch today. Good service , decent food (only gripe was burger was cooked a bit too much) and great drinks. First time there and would visit again
Started with chicken liver parfait, burger and finished with tiramisu.
Enjoyed 50% deal in early January 2015, with 3 dining companions on the 1st Sunday evening of the New Year (around teatime, as they say !). A good time was had by all (especially with the 50% offer !). Our main meal order was actually received and wrong (for the next table)-although myself and dining companions had not properly noticed this. The staff brought this matter to our attention and had it sorted very quickly and very professionally. Can recommend the cheese board (starter), BBQ pizza/ with fries (main) and chocolate/coffee mousse (dessert). Lovely bar area too, with nice overall ambience. First time I had visited Gusto and recommended, and look forward to visiting their new establishment in Manchester City Centre in the near future.
My trip to Gusto was a bit of a mistake. Me and the boyf had been planning on going out for tapas, but the tapas place was closed. So we kind of wandered round Didsbury looking for somewhere to eat, and happened across Gusto. Now, when I was living in Didsbury, I'd stand at the bust stop next to Gusto every darn day, and yet I never really noticed it. How bizarre. It's lucky that tapas place was closed that day, or we'd never have discovered this lovely place.
Nowadays, it seems like everyone's getting in on the act with Mediterranean foodstuffs, and let's face it, pasta's not exactly a revelation. When you think about it, most of us cook and eat 'Italian' most of the time. I know I do, as I have a weird habit of making massive lasagnes about once a week, and freezing huge slabs of the stuff. Obviously I am subconsciously preparing for some kind of nuclear disaster, in the event of which, we will be sustained by lasagnes until help comes.
Er, where was I? Oh yeah, Italian food. It's not the most exciting genre, really. But Gusto, well, Gusto's pretty exciting. A small chain based in the North West, Gusto serves quality authentic Italian grub at very reasonable prices. Their pasta dishes are all priced under the £9 mark (apart from lobster linguine, obviously) and you can grab an 8oz sirloin steak for £13.95. The wide and varied pizza menu is priced from £5.95 to £9.95 and satisfies any pizza need, from margarita to peking duck.
The wine list has a wine for every palate and pocket, with a range of fruity, heavy, dry and sweet plonks starting at £14 and going up to over £50. They also offer a great cocktail list, and they use the good tequila in their margaritas, always cause for kudos from me!
The setting of this restaurant is really nice, from the intimate leather booths to the stand-alone tables, the low lighting and soft music makes it an ideal date venue, though the booths can seat larger parties if you don't mind getting a little cosy...
All in all, a lovely place to eat, in a lovely little bit of Manchester. It's worth the occasional journey from the city centre, too.
I have been to Gusto a couple of times with friends and both times we have all really enjoyed the food. The place had a lovely ambience and feel to it. Both bar staff and waiter/waitress were really friendly and warm, both occasions we went Gusto, it was extremely busy, despite this we felt looked after by the staff and service was really good. The food we had was absolutely lovely and served warm, although limited vegetarian choice what we had was very tasty. Great place if you fancy pizza/pasta, ooh by the way keep space for deserts as they are scrumptious! Would definitely recommend to family friends and oh yeah I will be back too!
Located in Didsbury , this place fits snugly into this stylish and elegant district of Manchester. Entering a place with such good Feng Shui is always soothing.
Incredibly trendy and very upmarket. Prices are a gradiently steeper here but menu is a la carte and it's a very popular place with residents.
High standards are set with all Living Ventures locations (previous owners of the Living Room, and current owners if this place and the Blackhouse Grills) and this place is no exception.
Diners can relax sitting around the theatre kitchen watching the chefs at work or else at the con amici table, designed for sharing and talking.
Lively, and a place you'll enjoy.
I was pleasantly surprised here with the quality of food. I had steak and it was cooked perfectly, sides were extra but again very good. Would definitely visit again.
Gusto Gusto Gusto... YUM. I love this restaurant and have been numerous times. The outside seating is so perfect for summer dining, enclosed in the trellis fence lit up with fairy lights. The staff always give a warm welcome and encourage you to sit at the bar if you're waiting for a table, where you can try the delicious cocktails. Try the Ginito (I'm a huge gin lover so this is right up my street) which is a Mojito variation so tastes really fresh.
I have to say I disagree with Elliot, the lobster is definitely worth a try! With just the right amount of garlic it's a real treat, especially in the gorgeous setting - aim to get a booth if you can. Or go in a group and reserve the big marble table in the middle.
The Wild Mushroom Risotto with extra bacon (£9.50) is really good as well as the Griffin pizza (£9.25) so plenty to choose from. The very best part of any evening at Gusto is the Nutella and Mascarpone Calzone with vanilla ice cream (£5.50). This is literally the most delicious dessert! Depending how much else you've already eaten, it may be best to get it to share but really if you can eat it all yourself - do.
Gusto is a stylish italian on the main street through Didsbury. It has a decent selection of Pasta, Pizza and other main courses of fish and meat. There is seating outside for a nice brunch or lunch or just have a coffee and cake. My one comment on the price of the wine is that it is a bit steep at £7 and the rest for a 250cl glass of mediocre sauvignon blanc. Apart from that its a fab place to spend an evening.
I don't go to Didsbury often but I was recommending going to a restaurant called Gusto by a couple of my friend. A few weeks ago I went and I really had a great time, I went with 3 other friend and the service was great, the food was amazing and the environment was an all round happy one. We booked a table for 8 on the Saturday night and we got there, had a drink at the bar and were seated at 8:15, the starters came pretty quick, the main meal took a little longer but that didn't really bother us. The staffs were quick to clear the table and quick to take desert orders. If I was going again the only difference I would make is booking a bit earlier, it was quite busy and a little crammed. The price was not too bad as the quality of the food was quite high
The food is just alright, however, it didn’t meet my expectations. I was a little disappointed with the Carbonara. Moreover, the spaghetti was too thick for my liking, which made it difficult to balance the sauce with each bite of the pasta.
Been here with my husband a few times. I tried their scallops dish for starter and Carbonara with additional chicken this time as I was craving for some pasta and my husband ordered a pizza. Love how creamy the sauce was especially with the added parmesan on top and how Al dente the pasta was, the scallops was fresh and tasty too. My husband thought the pizza was really good as well.
I’ve come here for several years for different events and I came with my family for my 23rd birthday and it was lovely. I want to thank Aoife for a lovely evening and for making my birthday. Thank you so much, you are beautiful, lovely and sweet.

Great experience overall! Very friendly service and great ambience. The food is also good. I'm not a huge fan of chain restaurants, but I have to admit that Gusto exceeded my expectations; food was actually quite decent. We went for lunch on a Saturday, 3 people. We sat on the outdoor area, which is very cute and spacious - ideal for those with baby prams like us!.
We tried pasta carbonara, roasted vegetables salad, and the burger. We also had some starters. Everything was tasty and very well presented.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Gusto Italian with a group of friends, and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. Not only was the food delicious, but the service was exceptional. Our waitress, Aoife, was incredibly lovely and attentive, making sure our every need was met. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, adding to the overall charm of the evening. I highly recommend Gusto Italian to anyone craving authentic Italian cuisine served with a smile.
Beautiful food. Allergies taken into account and staff went and double checked that things would be OK. Waiters very attentive. Good size portions. Very enjoyable evening

My favourite restaurant EVER. They always look after you. Nick always looks after us and he makes you feel very welcomed. The food is amazing, staff are friendly. I wouldn’t go anywhere else
The duck is the best thing on the menu, always bang on! Fantastic selection of wine and cocktails especially during the festive period. Brownie and caramel ice is also really good! Excellent service
We were a group of 11 to have boxing lunch here and it was amazing for all of us. The food was great in favor and value. The service was spot on and the servers were so attentive. We can't wait to visit again!

Nit been for a couple of years since moving out the area. Went for lunch today and boy was it an absolute treat. Delicious food, I had the duck followed by crème brûlée . Every mouthful was delicious. Also Nick our waiter was super nice.
Booked for a table of 12 and the restaurant were really accommodating where other places have not been.
The staff are delightfully cheerful and willing to assist with any requests - including helping with taking photos for us!
The food and drinks all arrived really promptly and everything looked delicious.
Would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant - we had a wonderful time and will be back again very soon.
Had quick lunch at Gusto Didsbury and can't fault anything. Food and drink were reasonably priced. Great service from Nick. Will visit again..
Always have a good time here..lovely restaurant and staff very friendly especially Nick who has been here for ages. Love the pasta and pizza especially. Dog friendly too on the front terrace.
